90th Birthday for World's Most Famous Prison

That's Alcatraz, opened as a Federal Penitentiary August 11, 1934, with the first 137 prisoners. In their footsteps came the likes of Al Capone, George "Machine-Gun" Kelly, Alvin Karpis (the first "Public Enemy #1"), and Robert Stroud AKA "Birdman of Alcatraz." This 1963 video shows "The Rock's" last days as a prison. A million tourists now flock to this National Park Service attraction annually.
