- Nordkirchen Palace is a palace and park ensemble in the Baroque style in Nordkirchen (Westphalia), built on the site of a Renaissance “castle on the water” from 1703 to 1734 by the bishops of Münster from the Plettenberg family. In tourist brochures it was nicknamed the Westphalian Versailles, although in appearance it is more reminiscent of the Dutch Het Loo.
After the secularization of the episcopal estates, the palace belonged to the princely families of Esterházy and Arenberg, until it was bought by the authorities of North Rhine-Westphalia in 1959. The brick building stands on a square-shaped artificial island, with garden pavilions at the corners. The regular park is decorated with Baroque statues, some of which were restored in the early years of the 20th century.
No matter what it is nicknamed, it is much more beautiful than Versailles, I have visited both places.
Here is the builder, Johann Conrad Schlaun, one the greatest german architects of the baroque era

Thank you for that information.

A masterpiece. A jewel. THAT is art
I walked around it and it looks in the video much smaller than in reality.
Een prachtige plek om es te bezoeken. Wij deden dat.
Today it hosts a academy for higher tax inspectors of the state NRW, the newer buildings on the side are part of the campus and contain the cafeteria and sportshalls. In the basement at the front is a Michelin star rated fine dining restaurant.

One thing that I will never understand is, why the majority of humans express themselves so negatively "don`t forget to subscribe".
I would say: "Please remember to subscribe".
Thanks for the advice. I will take into account
To me it looks like a combination between Vaux-le-Vicomte, Lersailles and Het Loo.
