Hi Ben, so glad I happened upon this video & I look forward to visiting this channel more. Just got the TS3 this morning. My overall idea was to reduce the clutter on my desk running a 2019 MacBook Pro w/a 4K monitor, Bose Companion speakers running into a Dragonfly Black DAC. What I do most is graphic design & photo editing, so I use external drives & SSDs quite a bit. Not quite sure where to plug the Dragonfly into on the TS3 - so I'd appreciate any advice/suggestion. Overall, I think the TS3 will reduce the clutter & allow me to use the various external storage devices much more easily. Thanks for the video!

Hey, Chris! That's great! I'm glad you're getting some great use out of the TS3. The decrease in clutter has been a huge benefit to my current setup. Are you able to run the Dragonfly through one of the USB-A ports in the back of the TS3?

So the only issue I'm having with monitor hookup is the hdmi port on the caldigit is UK. I got a converter so I can plug my US hdmi into the caldigit but I get nothing. Any ideas?

Hey! Thanks for watching! That's a tough one and an issue that I didn't know existed. I would honestly reach out to CalDigit on that one. They have a great customer support team and would probably be better equipped to help you with that question. Sorry about that. :/

Thanks for doing this and you did a very good job. I would have liked to see how to attach an external hard drive to the CalDigit. Specifically, I have 4 external drives which each one has its own power cord along with the USB cord. My guess is that I still power each drive through the power cord and connect the USB cable to the USB ports on the rear of the TS3 Plus even though the description kinda leads me to believe it's a powered port
The TS3 arrives tomorrow and you might not see this in time so I'll try one of the least important drives first and see what happens.
Good luck with the blogs and I'll check out some of the others once I subscribe.

Hey Greg! Thanks for watching and thanks for your comment. You bring up a great point. From my understanding, yes you would power each drive through the power cord and USB ports. I personally only use one, but it works for me. Hope you like the TS3 Plus!

What’s the benefit of the digital audio port? If there is a benefit, how do I hook up my speakers that way.

Hey! Thanks for watching! Sorry it took me so long to reply. To answer your question, one of the many benefits tot he digital audio port is that it allows for a direct digital connection to external audio systems like speakers, soundbars, or AV receivers. This can bypass potential quality loss that might occur with digital-to-analog conversion within the dock. What type of speakers are you hooking up?

I don't have the CalDigit thunderbolt 3 cable, would the cable from the Macbook charger suffice the CalDigit?

Hey, Angel! Thanks for watching! As long as it's a thunderbolt 3 cable, you should be good to go. :)

NO. That's only for power (not data).
