in principal yes, but the history of Daoism is filled with quests for immortality through alchemy and spells. that's the opposite of nature.

In China there was Shendao that predate Daoism. Although it had different meaning then Shinto/Shindo in Japan.

I enjoy Nature ever day as I fill my Bird feeders and watch them came to eat. The amazing aspect is that birds never over eat and stop when they have their fill. Shinto seems like a wonderful religion.

I've come upon the ideas of Shinto + Buddhism aftee being pushed into Christian practices as a kid. I find this very interesting, and I wish to adopt these as soon as I can. Thank you so much for your kindness and willingness to share!

Thank you for this video❤️ in my family, we practice a blend of shintoism, Buddhism, & paganism (I am european-american/native american & my husband is from Japan). It is amazing how much is similar between all of the nature-based spiritualities. In our home, they blend seamlessly together to create a very positive energy and lifestyle that represents our family’s mixed heritage.

Shinto is for the Japanese. Only one of them would truly understand and embody it.

In Mexico, Catholicism is the predominant religion, but I've always disagreed with their beliefs which made me cynical towards spirituality in a way. As years have passed I have sometimes felt the need to find something else, something greater, something to connect to, and I think Shintoism strongly resonates with me. この動画を作ってありがとうございます!

Arigatou gozaimashita. One celebration during wintertime is Hatsumode. (I wasn't able to attend due to our kannushi retiring and closing the shrine though.😢 Instead, I prayed at my kamidana, which is not the same.)

Thank you for sharing. I am learning about Shintō today. 🙏
I found some commonality of Shintō with other religion. The washing for prayers reminds me of the Islam practice of washing before prayers. Although there is the physical side, I believe there is also the symbolic aspect of ensuring purity in approaching the sacred.
Secondly, the expression of thanks or gratitude before food is also ritually practiced in Christianity and Islam where one gives thanks for their the food that nature or God has provided. 😊
Lastly, I have a question solely out of curiosity or confirmation. My grandmother was my primary spiritual teacher and she was a Taoist and Buddhist in her time on earth. She mentioned to me when I was little that Shintō ritual has a box where it is opened for prayer ritual. I am curious what she meant as I was too little when she told me this so I did not ask more questions. Or perhaps I have misunderstood her. Maybe some clarification or validation will be great. Thank you again 🙏

Arigato gozaimasu + cam on nhieu (Giving much thanks+ feeling in Vietnamese) Azumi! It's great to hear and see how these traditional practices share similarities across cultures. Even in ancient Vietnam there's a similar respect. I especially appreciated hearing your distinction between practices for connecting with yourself vs. meditation too. Often there's a lack of distinction in a lot of Western teachings which can be confusing for people starting their foray into these practices but connecting with ourselves is just as much needed if not more here. You are doing wonderful and important work for us.

We also need to train our mind and how we see things. We don’t want to welcome Pain, illness, negative experiences to our life, but during these period, we are growing spiritually. Hi :)
I have a problem, or maybe more of a situation
solution of which is problematic for me.
I live in a house with many more inhabitants than people and cat.
The problem is that I cannot communicate with these beings
I don't know what they want and what their role is,
two of these beings are my ancestors
driving away the ancestors by exorcism etc is probably the stupidest solution
but there are other beings,(3 or 5) neither ex-humans nor ancestors.
Do you know how to check it ?
Confirm that someone is actually here
and then determine what their role is and what they want :(
I don't have mystical abilities to do things like this,
there is any ritual that can unlock these abilities in us?
    Lucid Dreaming OOBE,seeing energies etc
Simply make our magical rituals work, instead of being empty actions
    that cause no reaction
(and all that remains is our belief that the ritual caused some change)

What happens when you die according to shintoism?

Shinto traditions lean heavily on the concepts of the presence of kami and there are three realms, one of them being the afterlife of humans. The spirit of everyone is released at the time of passing away. The spirits live in another world, the most sacred of which is called “the other world of heaven.” These other worlds are not seen as a paradise or a punishment. Instead the worlds are simply where the spirits reside. They can connect and visit the present world when people correctly perform rituals and festivals.
Shinto says that the ancestral spirits will protect their descendants. The prayers and rituals performed by the living honor the dead and memorialize them. In return, the spirits of the dead offer protection and encouragement for the living.

So I watched this “Artsy” movie called “kinds of kindness”
    It was a weird movie!
And after I saw that movie it made me want to make my own idea for a artsy movie (or short film)
And it’s about the main character “Johnathan” and his dog gets stolen by two leaders who want to use his dog as a sacrifice for the tree “Amadeus”
    (Loved by god)
    (Also the leaders are naked)
And it gets worse after that…!
I didn’t know it was an actual religion from Japan I based my idea around that’s pretty cool!
You did a great job explaining everything!

There is only one God, and He is the LORD. He is the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. The LORD sits on His throne in the Kingdom of God and controls all through His Word, the Son of God and the Word of God, Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ, who is God, came down from His throne and was made flesh to perform miracles and annouce the way into the Kingdom of Heaven. He was sacrificed for the forgiveness of our sins. He was resurrected and ascended back to the Kingdom of God to once again sit at the right hand of God, His Father. Accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and your Savior, and acknowledging His sacrifice is the only way to Heaven. Any other way leads to destruction. The Holy Bible was written by God and is the only, correct instruction on what is true.
