Love this so much! Can't wait to print one myself. Have a cool idea for what to power it with! I love how compact and cool looking you made it.

That was a cool trick with the baggie catching the metal chips while you saw

I’m designing one as well, thanks for sharing!!! Though there’s many available just to download it really gets the juices flowing to come up with your own geometry!

This series is awesome! I'm going through the same process and your experiences are invaluable to me. Amazing video and production quality as well ^^
    Thanks Kyle!

You will need to make it a gravity driven clock. That will give you a very steady power supply. It's a great looking chronometer start. Sounds good

Very cool! How are you planning on working out the timing of the escapement?

Thanks! I'm actually hoping to tackle that by adding the option to add some balance screws to increase the weight of the balance wheel. I'll also probably end up fine-tuning the thickness/number of spirals that the hairspring has to adjust the beat rate.

I'm trying to design my own watch escapement. Do you think you could make a video on how you came up with your design. (like how you came up with your angles and measurements). Was it all trial and error?

Probably online somewhere, then you just edit and tinker from there. If you need to keep track of dependent measurements then just write them all down, a spreadsheet can help especially with scaling and using formulas

Did you experiment with fixing the rotating parts to their staffs? Instead of having the staffs fixed and the parts rotating freely on them
