@@MrTommo2304 I'm holding out hope that the Bambis come back, either because Orihime heals them or even Ryuuken heals them. I mean, Giselle definitely isn't dead, since we know she's survived worse. Also, love your take on Ywach, no notes really. The only addition I would make is that like every fascist, Ywach can point out a problem, but his solution is insane and punishes everyone else for existing. Like, he's right that the world was created under unjust circumstances and that death is an imposition by the authoritarian Shinigami, but he seemingly never bothered actually trying to convince his "children" that it is in their best interests to fight Soul Society or to free Adnyeus from his humiliation and instead forced them to heel and acted as an abusive Allfather. He's basically Gnostic Jesus gone horribly wrong because he prioritized his Divine mission to free the Quincy from the prison of flesh/death and destroy the Archons and the Demiurge, aka Soul Society and Ichibei respectively, to such an extent that he lost sight of the value of the individual souls he was supposed to save.
@MrTommo2304 i have a theory of how uryu survived the aushwailen. I think that uryu is himself somewhat of a hybrid, not quite like ichigo, but a quincy fullbring hybrid.
1:00:00 I have a feeling the Ukitake plotline's purpose will be to give Ywach a tangible reason to return to Soul Society in order to bring down the last vestiges of resistance keeping him from merging the worlds since in the manga there was really no specific reason for him to go there other than to initiate the Aizen fight.
To me what the Katagiri scene alluded to was that she was a Quincy like Ywhach and Haschwalth, no power of her own but could redistribute it. Likely would mean she would be unaffected but gave her life to save Uryu.
Great call, Quincy like that are born every couple hundred years or so, so it stands to reason that there would've been one in the modern day. This is my headcanon until proven otherwise in cour 4 lol

Ya evens Yuhas desire to “free” his father is more based on revenge then a desire to help him. The anime shows this when Yuha talks about his father with contempt saying how his father had seen the future of the Quincy and still did nothing.

He's so wrapped up in what the ancestors did to HIS father and to HIM that he doesn't bat an eye at doing similar shit to Quincy who probably didn't consent to giving their lives up for his use. I imagine Ywach was at one point capable of empathy, but the voices of the damned long drove him mad and isolated him from humanity.
@@MrGksarathy I don't think he ever really cared about anyone. Remember in the manga we learn that since he was a baby he has used the souls of others to keep himself alive and well. His whole life all he's ever know has been disposing others for his own growth and gain. To him, he sees it as necessary and since he never knew any different I feel like he has never felt remorse or empathy for his "children". I think the voices of the dammed only enforced his own in-ate fear of death, but I doubt he felt anything for those he killed seeing them as serving their only purpose. I also get the idea that he blames his father just as much as the ancestors considering his talk about how his father saw what happened to the quinces and how he did nothing. I think he was just as much resentful to his father because he knew that his father could have stoped the nobel's, yet he didn't.

@@gabe8914 Do remember during the flashback at the end of Cour 2 that Ywach noticeably sounded more angry on behalf of the souls of the damned he was forced to hear, even while he was a ruthless warlord, an empathy that basically vanished in the present day. I also think the presence of the mini-Ywach inside of Ichigo and his character development is proof that under different circumstances, Ywach could have become an actual caring protector of the Quincy, even if he would probably have remained controlling and deceptive. The old man inside Ichigo was based off the Ywach from 1000 years ago, but tellingly, most of his actions were done with Ichigo's welfare in mind, and not even for the sake of Ywach's goals. Also, Ywach hates his father for abandoning him, but he also still loves him and resents how the Shinigami dishonored him. Both feelings can coexist, and I think he hates both nearly equally, even if he hates the Shinigami more.
47:16 Not just them; Hallibel's fracción also has a stake in this war, so they should be involved in the final battle to rescue their queen. Additionally, the Privaron Espada that Mayuri resurrected are essentially his slaves, so he should have compelled them to fight. This is my main issue with Kubo introducing an inconsequential character like Yoruichi's brother so late in the story when Soifon could have easily taken on that role. There are so many already pre-existing characters that he simply overlooked.
Yea, Soifon really got shafted in the manga, and then she got it even harder in the anime. Having her show off her Shunko, a technique she actually likes, as opposed to her Bankai, something she admits that she hates, just to get backhanded in dumbest way, is disappointing.

I believe Cour 4 is going to give us the full story of Adnyeus, YH, Osho, and the division of the worlds, along with the creation of the OG Gotei and some peeks at the Hell Arc. Mathematically, a little over 50% of the cour must be new content. Thats more then enough time for all of the above.
Is that right? We have 4 fights left and the gerard and ywach fights are pretty prolongued. I guess they can cover 2 episodes each plus 1 episode for askin and 1 for jugram. I feel like it will be about 8 episodes to finish main plot and like 4 or 5 of added content if we're lucky

I'm the most happy that they did justice to hollow masks in anime in this arc, they were huge thing for the whole Bleach and lack of them was disappointing in TYBW

@@Nexus-ub9jm I think it should be Sternritter shades versus Ichigo's gang, the Bambis, and the Fullbringers minus Ginjo and Tsukishima with minimal Shinigami involvement because I feel those other groups need more to do, and Liltotto vs her former comrades is more interesting than a "good vs evil" clash. As you can see, I'm not super interested in the Gotei as far as this arc goes because they've gotten enough and can easily get more.
My favorite part of watching reactions to Bleach episode 40 was at the end when people thought there was more scenes after the end credits to essentially get "Rick rolled" by the Quincy Daten segment held by Askin. lol
I need to know how the new Uryu and Kanae information goes with how according to Q&A #575 by Tite Kubo on his fansite "Klub Outside", Uryū being "special" for a Quincy is not just demonstrated by his ability to survive Auswählen, but also the fact that he can resist erosion by Hollow Reiatsu; citing his battles with Szayelaporro Granz and Ulquiorra Cifer as proof.
I always felt that Uryu's grandfather left him the glove specifically as a means to deal against Ywach. That's why Kubo mentions the little pieces of paper that were of a similar nature to the glove. Soken thought Uryu would need the glove/release to be able to stand against Ywach. Like that was Kubo's way of dropping that tiny thread in the mad dash that was the ending. I wonder if in the next core we'll learn that Soken stole something else that helped mitigate the effects of Aschwalen when Uryu was hit by it
Very excited that 40-50% of cour 4 can easily be new anime only content. I really hope they clean up how sloppy the end of the manga came across (we all know why). All the new content so far has really delivered.

20:00 It could also be that the anime is saving the Royd Lloyd explanation as a further tie in to hereditary schrifts so it will make more sense when describing the one Uryu has, though obviously just throwing darts in the dark here.
The thing I liked about youruichi striking the lightning balls is that it’s a reference to the actual raijin who would strike his take drums to make thunder and lightning
I assume, that Big Red Ball is THE Gate of the Sun, since Uryu was about to give an amulet that strongly resembles the gate itself. Also, considering Jugram stayed in that room and after walked out claiming he’d already destroyed the gate in my eyes makes much sense. I think it works more like a power core that enables teleportation for quinces, as long as the “core” is active.
I think the Askin bit would have been placed much better at the end of any other episode that wasn't the finale. It's a strange spot to put, especially when everyone is initially hyped thinking were about to get some crazy 6 minute post credit scene.
I think the anime actually showing the massacre of Castle Black really hammers home the fact that Ywach is just a self serving evil tyrant and far from a savior. (Although I do think it's pretty clear from the manga) You see that Quincy seemingly are just living their lives just like anyone else prior to his conquest of their race. It seems like he did significantly more damage to the Quincy than SS ever did. Then he lead the remaining Quincy that he didnt kill himself on a pointless invasion of SS that lead to their near extinction as a species. The few that did survive were then again used and killed in the TYBW for his attempt at another invasion of SS that he paints as this great revenge for the Quincy race when in reality he slaughtered the majority of his own people to solidity his rule then forced the rest to engage in a fight only he wanted.
@@xxcagedriotxx The really sad part is that if he even tried, he could have convinced a significant number of Quincy to voluntarily join his cause because he has some reasonably compelling arguments on his side about why the Quincy genuinely have a raw deal in this world.
@MrGksarathy Except that he doesn't. What is so bad about being a Quincy? Especially at this point in time. We see they have their own entire nation which is solely inhabited by Quincy. There are Quincy living as royalty which we see through castle black and common folk where Haschwalth presumably comes from. But these are established lands that at the time do not seem to have any quarrel with the SS. To the point Ywachs' highest soldiers even questioned why his conquest of all the Quincy was not enough. He was a tyrant who purged any who wouldn't submit or were too weak to oppose him then forced the remaining, Quincy to be a means of bolstering his own power.
@@xxcagedriotxx It is true that the Quincy were left in the lurch with regards to the order of the world, especially since Hollows are uniquely poisonous to them. That, and while the Soul Society can tolerate them if they don't step out of line, the moment they maybe expand too much or get a little overzealous about killing Hollows, then SS has no problem killing them to preserve their order. I will admit that Soul Society probably wouldn't immediately resort to violence, nor would the Quincy of that time likely be as violently opposed to SS, but their peace is a sort of fragile one that always pushes against the boundaries. I mean, even Sōken conceded to Ywach's argument that the current world was unsightly and had forsaken the Quincy as a race. Not to mention, considering that Death itself is an imposition upon souls by the founders that can in fact be rectified, there is a reasonable argument for getting rid of death as a system.
@@xxcagedriotxx The Quincy of that era might have been tolerated by Soul Society and even been allowed to prosper, but that peace is inherently somewhat fragile, since if they got too numerous and killed too many Hollows, they might have been slightly culled by SS, though both sides probably would have been more open to negotiation, if Soul Society deigned yo negotiate with "mere humans". That is definitely the grounds of a reasonable argument for Ywach to use. Same goes for the very imposition of death by the founders. That is a pretty self-evident argument on its own.
@@MrGksarathy Up until that point as far as we know there has been peace between the SS and whatever the Quincy nation was known wss at that point in time. This thousand year blood war is a result of Ywach choosing to invade and wipe out SS despite what we clearly see is a prospering society. And if we compare that to that we know of the SS at the time it honestly makes it even worse. The rukongai were treated even worse and the 13 court guard were known as murders and criminals. A society where the strongest and most ruthless were given seats of power and the vast majority were left to less than rags. We only see a brief look into their society at the time but it seems like the ppl were pretty much left to their own devices without any ruling hand or set power structure. And I'm sure they could have come to some agreement with ss as far as elimination of hollows if they were an issue in their lands.
20:50 i think yes. i think he unconsciously activated an innate form of the Antithesis to protect her. which is why she grabs hold of him and cries out to him. if she had the Antithesis, she obviously would've used it to protect him. and she would've fallen. but instead, the son protected the mother. though obviously, it didn't last. given that she did eventually die 3 months later. it also makes more sense to me that Uryu has it. not only did Soken survive this Auswählen, but Ryuken did as well. i think the Antithesis might be a trait unique to the Ishida family. they are the Antithesis: the Opposites of God. the Adversaries to Yuhabaha. perhaps The Adversary is the true form of The "Antithesis"? or maybe each Ishida has a different version of this power. maybe Ryuken has The Adversary, Uryu has The Antithesis, and Soken had something else? The Aberration, perhaps? (or Ryuken has The Aberration, and Soken had The Adversary) in fact, wouldn't it be funny if Uryu used his Innate Schrift after drinking Yuhabahas blood? but before he inscribed the Letter on his Soul? to but his blood in his own stomach. and his new plan in the anime, the thing only he can do: involves him somehow activating this unholy blood? although it would be hard to pull this off without him noticing. so, probably not
@@strider_hiryu850 Sōken and Ryuuken are both Echt Quincy, so they weren't even targeted. Uryuu and Kanae + the other maid were targeted, but we can't say for sure who was actually immune yet.
As some others have pointed out, during the mini flashback with Uryu and ichigo at school, ichigo’s shirt he’s wearing underneath his school uniform says: KLUB OUTSIDE. Of course a reference to the blog itself. The small details show they put so much care in the adaptation ~~~
Remember schrifts are just ywach drawing out innate powers of the individual similar to how zanpakuto draw out the powers of a shinigami and not ywach granting people special powers out of nothing
@LightKeyDarkBlade he chooses the letter but the powers come from the individual with for example askin not having the potential to be given the explosion schrift even if ywach gave him E which would result in him getting something similar to but slightly different then his canon death dealing
@@mathanon217 No, it's already explained how Schrift work in the manga as well as in the anime through the keyword eyecatch. Schrift refer to the special abilities given by Yhwach. The letters correspond with the first letters of the names that represent the abilities themselves. The Sternritter literally get Yhwach's soul. Nowhere is it stated that the powers come from the Sternritter themselves. Pernida and Gerard are the only exception where they just get the Schrift as letters nominally without additional power.
@LightKeyDarkBlade as explained on klub outside by kubo the way the sternwritter are granted their schrifts is via ywach seeing potential in their soul and drawing out that potential via using a piece of his soul and engraving them with a letter but the power they are granted originates from them and not ywach which is part of why bazz and the bambis still have them despite losing vollstandig which is a result of ywachs soul

I wish the Vizard while wearing there mask would even just try smothering Gerard with there hollow reiatsu alone that’s be insane. I really wish they could’ve flexed that hollow reiatsu being poison to Quincy. They should’ve gotten to do a lot.
I just got a crazy theory. So what IF Uryu was born like Haschwalth and Yhwach with no innate ability to collect reishi, but he STOLE his powers from katagiri on accident? That would honestly make so many things make sense. Like how Uryu got his powers back after Letz Stile, and how Ryuken CLEARLY has some resentment for Uryu.
@@jackblackrosedragon9325 This theory holds little water, tbh. The process by which he got his powers back seems to be a standard, albeit dangerous route for any Quincy, and it ties into how the Soul works in Bleach
I have recently been contemplating the same thing though I think it's somewhat unlikely but it would explain all the stuff about uryu being untalented at the quincy arts and why he was able to survive but it still feels like it's a longshot
@jackblackrosedragon9325 another idea I had recently is that there might be something with mimihagi going on based on that weird blut pattern on his hand that looked like mimihagi when uryu got his red eyes. This also came about in part because the kid uryu falling sick reminded me of the flashback with ukitake and how the anime changed it so mimihagi itself doesn't seem to be inside ukitake but just some of his power that ukitake is using his organs as fuel to make more of
Another thing, I really wish Yoruichi’s fight with askin would’ve forced her to reveal & use her zanpaktou, making her use shi & bankai. Aside from say Aizen…Yoruichi’s zanpaktou abilities are the ones I most wish would be shown.
I paused this at 26:53. I think Ishida sniped Ichigo through a place in Ichigo's chest that would not kill him. Ishida has seen Ichigo survive from way worse. Ishida has surgeon precision so he could easily pull off that shot.
My theory on what the scene with uryu and his mom probably meant, is maybe uryu accidentally used antithesis that day and reversed the effects of aushwalen to his mom. Cuz yhwach says uryu was the only Quincy to survive aushwalen. This makes me think yhwach Targeted uryu that day with his aushwalen originally.. but somehow it went to uryu mom instead of uryu. Making it he was the only survivor
Technically ichigo survived it, and maybe karin, she might be a baby by then. They would all be impure Quincy Edit: im stupid if thats the day thier mother died of course both the sisters are born by then.. i know I know im slow 🙄
@@soldierbreed if I remember yhwach can actually target who is hit by aushwalen and who's not. Yhwach needed ichigo in the future to cut down the soul king since he is a perfect hybrid. So that's why I always thought he never went after ichigo with aushwalen and his sisters.

That's why he needed to take more souls, that's why he has his sternritter fight. So when they fight or die, the ones the sternritter fight and the sternritter themselves all go back to yhwach when they die. Boosting his power to where he can use Almighty at 100% capacity to defeat ichibei and destroy the soul king.
my theory as to what Uryu's new plan to defeat Yhwach is that he might do something the involves exploiting the antithesis to kill him. Or he might have something planned with his dad since he was the one who was still holding on to Soken's journal and allowed Uryu to read it.

I feel like it is very likely uryu or his mother had some form of antithesis. It could also explain ryukens cold demeanor towards uryu if uryu had been the one who had antithesis and accidently activated it. But considering uryus mothers wings were coming out, it probably was her doing. So stoked for cour 4.
Katagiri must have done something to save Uryu, while sacrificing herself. That would also explain why Ryuken is so cold towards his son, part of him still blames Uryu for his wife's death. I like the idea that she has some version af the antithesis.
I have a feeling that we may get an actual Ukitake fight. They've really gone out of their way to show that he's not dead yet. I'm wondering if with Mimihagi no longer being able to stabilize the world, Ukitake may manifest through it somehow in order to fight and stall Yhwach more directly.

WHERE WAS THE BAD CHARACTER ART IN EPISODE 39???? no, seriously. where was it? you mentioned it got a little rough in some places in that review. but then, never showed an example? i was very confused by this "critique" when watching your review because when i watched the episode, i thought the character art was excellent. i mean maybe Yushiro was a little... meh?? i guess? but he has the unfortunate circumstance of being Yoruichis younger brother. and she looked really cool in that episode. so i really wasn't sure what you meant by that
Before this episode, the established law for Katagiri was that she was a half-blood Quincy and a maid, but powerful enough to be the personal bodyguard to Ryuken (the Quincy heir). Later she marries Ryuken and has Uryu, then we are told she was sick and weak; Katagiri was affected by auswahlen and died three months later. Finally, in this episode, we see she wasn't affected by auswahlen; Uryu and the maid holding the umbrella collapse while she is left standing. The whole pure-blood quincy vs half-blood or spoiled-blood Quincies strongly suggested that those killed first were the weaker Quincies (i.e not pure blood). If Uryu's mother wasn't affected then with a pure-blooded father, Uryu should be OK. The only thing that Uryu has is low blood pressure. Then there are hints about Mimihagi with a visual effect on Uryu hand in the Royal palace. Finally, MrTommo2304 (I missed this one) noticed the reflection in the water of something going on (blue light) which suggests either Katagiri, Uryu or a third party does something to allow Uryu to survive. So did Soken write down what happened in his journal and Uryu learned the 'truth'? Is Ryuken the only one who really knows what happened but chose to keep this secret from Uryu (for whatever reason)? Or nobody really knows, but Soken and Ryuken made educated guesses and came up with a story to tell Uryu. If there is a third party /parties involved : is it Aizen, the Royal guard, Urahara, an unknown Aizen-type character in the background or an unknown powerful Quincy? Lots of questions and not many answers.
I don't think I've seen anyone mention it, but I think Uryu know's that Ichigo can read his opponent's feelings when he's fighting, and the entire flashback and internal monologue was everything he told Ichigo during their brief fight. Ichigo must've been trying to put on a show for Haschwalth and pulled Uryu away the first chance he got. That's why they didn't resume fighting once landing.
One episode for them and one for Byakuya, Zaraki, Soi Fon and Toshiro seems ideal, unless they add flashbacks, which would give Gerard a three episode long fight. They can do Askin's fight in one and a half episode tbf so it could mean 5 episodes combined for both fights. 3 episodes for all the next fights with Yhwach, and then we would still have 5 episodes for new plots involving Hanataro, Chad, Ganju, Nel, the Fullbringers and those in Seireitei (Izuru and Tetsuzaemon).
@@axelvinicius3365Glad I’m not the only one that remembers that Soi Fon is with Byakuya and knows what that might mean. She most likely will join them in the Gerald fight. Everyone just forgets her or writes her of do completely.
@ I never liked that idea. Askin is too busted with his immunity power and she wouldn’t even be able to show off her abilities after a couple of punches. She gets used tossed aside and used to anger Yoruichi more and be completely useless since she can’t change her riastu. I would rather her just get a good fight against Gerald where she shows off what she really is capable of since he basically is a giant punching bag that lets everyone show off their powers. Kubo abandoned that plot and it too late to care for it now.

I really want the vizard to have a part in taking down a stage of Gerard. It would tie really nicely into the hollows being toxic to quincy that went nowhere after the bankais are taken back. (Besides maybe being a part of why grimmjows strike is so lethal against asken, besides the obvious lack of heart haha.)
Ryuken insisting on continuing to "hold the mantle of the last quincy" because Ishida is not ready yet, and despite Ryuken just wanting to be done with it all, makes a lot more sense now! Also do we ever actually see the Seretei turning back to normal? Was it because the Vandenreich was physically brought up to the Royal Palace and turned into the Varvehlt?
You know? I've been thinking and I believe that Kubo's reveal to the anime staff about a never seen bankai it isn't Aizen's but Isshin's. This is only because Aizen's bankai sounds too broken and he already has the hōgyoku.

On the Auswählen flashback I wonder if maybe that wasn't a Vollständig but Letzt Stil and maybe Katagiri was spared because she was strong enough to not be targeted, we know it goes for the sick/injured, weak, and old first
Letz Stile is such an interesting theory. It ties into Soken not giving up his Letz Stile for a Voll Stern Dich, and him potentially teaching it to Katagiri to protect his family. Especially since him and Ryuken were not on good terms. It could even potentially be the basis for the antithesis being a contradictory power to Ywach to protect "impure" quincies.

I do find it funny that the Zchutstaffel (Probably butchered the name) was finally given a name in a joke segment that ends the third part, but overall I can't wait for part 4 to be released maybe in the latter ot 2025, though probably 2026 honestly.
What I love about Bleach is that there are no traditional heroes. The leaders of the Shinagami are either evil, amoral, or extremely lawful neutral. They treat those beneath them with contempt and thrive on a world of suffering. They literally created the concept of death to cement their power. The Quincy are just as reprehensible. YH only cares about resetting the world at whatever cost. Everyone is compromised. The Blood War is not between paragon and villains, but against two equally fanatic and morally ambiguous factions fighting to create a world that best suits them. This story could have been written with the Wandenreich as the protagonist group and not much would have changed.
I wish we didn’t have to wait for the next part but there’s no doubt that Pierrot are gonna go absolutely mental on the final cour. My biggest hope is CFYOW animation or for them to animate the one shot post cour.
I’m always confused about the Antithesis theories because I believed that the ability can only affect two things that have already had something occur between them. But people seem to talk about it as if Uryu can just take anything that happens to him and stick it to someone else. If Uryu or his mother used the antithesis, wouldn’t the target be Yuha since he was the one using Auswhalen on them?
We don't really know the limits of Antithesis, it's just broken. He's already used it on a coin, so there's no reason to believe he can't just swap events with static objects. He could just make the air particles around him get targeted by Aueswhalen instead of himself or something equally busted.
For the specific instance of the auswhalen I think Uryuu instinctively used the antithesis to switch the effects of the auswhalen from katagiri onto himself

I love this video and I love the content, but here's my .02: Your favorite captain mentioned earlier that he doesn't believe that using evil methods to defeat evil doesn't make one evil - doesn't that apply to Yhwach as well? Hot Springs Homie even mentioned that his waters couldn't clean the blood / sins from Ichibei. When you're up against a perceived wrong and 'humiliating' circumstance that is counter to everything you've known, & fatal to your kind - the worst you can say here is that empirically, Yhwach adopted the tactics of the Soul Society 1000 years ago that exterminated them. Or the Soul Society of 200 years ago that murdered the Quincy peace force. Or the one from Uryu's youth that tortured and dissected Souken. Or the Soul Society of now that authorized Mayuri's experiments on the Quincy survivors. I think the biggest takeaway here is that if these are Uryu's powers *now* - in ten years, he'll be a true king of the Quincy - and that'd make him 'the Antithesis' to the Shinigami. There just aren't many powers that are capable enough to *move* a hollow hole outside their body. Uryu is a genius Doctor, loves stitching, & is the Quincy Emperor. If the blood from Yhwach running in Uryu's veins is still bent on eliminating this order of the world, we'll be revisiting this later whenever the new arc happens.

I haven’t read the manga, but what if (completely spitballing this) katagiri was somehow directly related to yhwach and therefore immune to auswahlen? If yhwach was for example Uryus grandfather on his mothers side then it would also be a cool storytelling contrast to soken ishida. Maybe only yhwachs first generation children are immune to auswahlen? I have no idea
20:28 what if Soken was given the schrift instead while he was a member of the Quincy’s empire, and when he left, he later passed the power on to Katagiri by reversing the situation of having the schrift and not between them. And then Katagiri did the same thing to her son, switching the situations of Uryu not having the power and unable to resist the Auswahlen and Katagiri now being able to resist and having the power? That or something to do with the Leiden Hant… When ya think about it, the “situations” could be incredibly varied, especially with one’s perspective. On top of that, imagine if Uryu later changes the situation between himself and Yhwach’s by one “having the Almighty”. He wouldn’t even have to trade the power, he could straight up steal it by reversing their specific “situation”
I had to hold myself back from shouting since my roommates were asleep when I saw this episode but I was so hyped to see all the visored return with their masks! Considering how they redeemed the zero division, I hope they do justice to the Visored’s final hurrah too 🙏 Also, if we could get an extended scene of Kira mopping up the lielle clones and have The fullbringers and Kukaku help with that, would be so sick to see. Also, love your take on Ywach, no notes really. The only addition I would make is that like every fascist, Ywach can point out a problem, but his solution is insane and punishes everyone else for existing. Like, he's right that the world was created under unjust circumstances and that death is an imposition by the authoritarian Shinigami, but he seemingly never bothered actually trying to convince his "children" that it is in their best interests to fight Soul Society or to free Adnyeus from his humiliation and instead forced them to heel and acted as an abusive Allfather.
He's basically Gnostic Jesus gone horribly wrong because he prioritized his Divine mission to free the Quincy from the prison of flesh/death and destroy the Archons and the Demiurge, aka Soul Society and Ichibei respectively, to such an extent that he lost sight of the value of the individual souls he was supposed to save.

To me what the Katagiri scene alluded to was that she was a Quincy like Ywhach and Haschwalth, no power of her own but could redistribute it. Likely would mean she would be unaffected but gave her life to save Uryu.
Great call, Quincy like that are born every couple hundred years or so, so it stands to reason that there would've been one in the modern day. This is my headcanon until proven otherwise in cour 4 lol

Ya evens Yuhas desire to “free” his father is more based on revenge then a desire to help him. The anime shows this when Yuha talks about his father with contempt saying how his father had seen the future of the Quincy and still did nothing.

His whole life all he's ever know has been disposing others for his own growth and gain. To him, he sees it as necessary and since he never knew any different I feel like he has never felt remorse or empathy for his "children". I think the voices of the dammed only enforced his own in-ate fear of death, but I doubt he felt anything for those he killed seeing them as serving their only purpose. I also get the idea that he blames his father just as much as the ancestors considering his talk about how his father saw what happened to the quinces and how he did nothing. I think he was just as much resentful to his father because he knew that his father could have stoped the nobel's, yet he didn't.

@@gabe8914 Do remember during the flashback at the end of Cour 2 that Ywach noticeably sounded more angry on behalf of the souls of the damned he was forced to hear, even while he was a ruthless warlord, an empathy that basically vanished in the present day.
I also think the presence of the mini-Ywach inside of Ichigo and his character development is proof that under different circumstances, Ywach could have become an actual caring protector of the Quincy, even if he would probably have remained controlling and deceptive. The old man inside Ichigo was based off the Ywach from 1000 years ago, but tellingly, most of his actions were done with Ichigo's welfare in mind, and not even for the sake of Ywach's goals.
Also, Ywach hates his father for abandoning him, but he also still loves him and resents how the Shinigami dishonored him. Both feelings can coexist, and I think he hates both nearly equally, even if he hates the Shinigami more.

Not just them; Hallibel's fracción also has a stake in this war, so they should be involved in the final battle to rescue their queen. Additionally, the Privaron Espada that Mayuri resurrected are essentially his slaves, so he should have compelled them to fight. This is my main issue with Kubo introducing an inconsequential character like Yoruichi's brother so late in the story when Soifon could have easily taken on that role. There are so many already pre-existing characters that he simply overlooked.

Yea, Soifon really got shafted in the manga, and then she got it even harder in the anime. Having her show off her Shunko, a technique she actually likes, as opposed to her Bankai, something she admits that she hates, just to get backhanded in dumbest way, is disappointing.

Mathematically, a little over 50% of the cour must be new content. Thats more then enough time for all of the above.

@@Nexus-ub9jm I think it should be Sternritter shades versus Ichigo's gang, the Bambis, and the Fullbringers minus Ginjo and Tsukishima with minimal Shinigami involvement because I feel those other groups need more to do, and Liltotto vs her former comrades is more interesting than a "good vs evil" clash. As you can see, I'm not super interested in the Gotei as far as this arc goes because they've gotten enough and can easily get more.
My favorite part of watching reactions to Bleach episode 40 was at the end when people thought there was more scenes after the end credits to essentially get "Rick rolled" by the Quincy Daten segment held by Askin. lol
I need to know how the new Uryu and Kanae information goes with how according to Q&A #575 by Tite Kubo on his fansite "Klub Outside", Uryū being "special" for a Quincy is not just demonstrated by his ability to survive Auswählen, but also the fact that he can resist erosion by Hollow Reiatsu; citing his battles with Szayelaporro Granz and Ulquiorra Cifer as proof.

I always felt that Uryu's grandfather left him the glove specifically as a means to deal against Ywach. That's why Kubo mentions the little pieces of paper that were of a similar nature to the glove. Soken thought Uryu would need the glove/release to be able to stand against Ywach. Like that was Kubo's way of dropping that tiny thread in the mad dash that was the ending. I wonder if in the next core we'll learn that Soken stole something else that helped mitigate the effects of Aschwalen when Uryu was hit by it
If i may comment on a bit i noticed. Theres a small scene where Sado catches and helps out Ichigo during the fight. Made me happy.
Very excited that 40-50% of cour 4 can easily be new anime only content. I really hope they clean up how sloppy the end of the manga came across (we all know why). All the new content so far has really delivered.

The thing I liked about youruichi striking the lightning balls is that it’s a reference to the actual raijin who would strike his take drums to make thunder and lightning
I assume, that Big Red Ball is THE Gate of the Sun, since Uryu was about to give an amulet that strongly resembles the gate itself.
Also, considering Jugram stayed in that room and after walked out claiming he’d already destroyed the gate in my eyes makes much sense.
I think it works more like a power core that enables teleportation for quinces, as long as the “core” is active.
I think old YW with the almighty eyes would be totally asleep, but Venom YW has that black Reiou power in autopilot surveillance mode.

I think the Askin bit would have been placed much better at the end of any other episode that wasn't the finale. It's a strange spot to put, especially when everyone is initially hyped thinking were about to get some crazy 6 minute post credit scene.
I think the anime actually showing the massacre of Castle Black really hammers home the fact that Ywach is just a self serving evil tyrant and far from a savior. (Although I do think it's pretty clear from the manga)
You see that Quincy seemingly are just living their lives just like anyone else prior to his conquest of their race. It seems like he did significantly more damage to the Quincy than SS ever did. Then he lead the remaining Quincy that he didnt kill himself on a pointless invasion of SS that lead to their near extinction as a species.
The few that did survive were then again used and killed in the TYBW for his attempt at another invasion of SS that he paints as this great revenge for the Quincy race when in reality he slaughtered the majority of his own people to solidity his rule then forced the rest to engage in a fight only he wanted.
@@xxcagedriotxx The really sad part is that if he even tried, he could have convinced a significant number of Quincy to voluntarily join his cause because he has some reasonably compelling arguments on his side about why the Quincy genuinely have a raw deal in this world.
@MrGksarathy Except that he doesn't. What is so bad about being a Quincy? Especially at this point in time. We see they have their own entire nation which is solely inhabited by Quincy. There are Quincy living as royalty which we see through castle black and common folk where Haschwalth presumably comes from. But these are established lands that at the time do not seem to have any quarrel with the SS. To the point Ywachs' highest soldiers even questioned why his conquest of all the Quincy was not enough.
He was a tyrant who purged any who wouldn't submit or were too weak to oppose him then forced the remaining, Quincy to be a means of bolstering his own power.
@@xxcagedriotxx It is true that the Quincy were left in the lurch with regards to the order of the world, especially since Hollows are uniquely poisonous to them. That, and while the Soul Society can tolerate them if they don't step out of line, the moment they maybe expand too much or get a little overzealous about killing Hollows, then SS has no problem killing them to preserve their order. I will admit that Soul Society probably wouldn't immediately resort to violence, nor would the Quincy of that time likely be as violently opposed to SS, but their peace is a sort of fragile one that always pushes against the boundaries. I mean, even Sōken conceded to Ywach's argument that the current world was unsightly and had forsaken the Quincy as a race.
Not to mention, considering that Death itself is an imposition upon souls by the founders that can in fact be rectified, there is a reasonable argument for getting rid of death as a system.
@@xxcagedriotxx The Quincy of that era might have been tolerated by Soul Society and even been allowed to prosper, but that peace is inherently somewhat fragile, since if they got too numerous and killed too many Hollows, they might have been slightly culled by SS, though both sides probably would have been more open to negotiation, if Soul Society deigned yo negotiate with "mere humans". That is definitely the grounds of a reasonable argument for Ywach to use.
Same goes for the very imposition of death by the founders. That is a pretty self-evident argument on its own.
@@MrGksarathy Up until that point as far as we know there has been peace between the SS and whatever the Quincy nation was known wss at that point in time. This thousand year blood war is a result of Ywach choosing to invade and wipe out SS despite what we clearly see is a prospering society.
And if we compare that to that we know of the SS at the time it honestly makes it even worse. The rukongai were treated even worse and the 13 court guard were known as murders and criminals. A society where the strongest and most ruthless were given seats of power and the vast majority were left to less than rags.
We only see a brief look into their society at the time but it seems like the ppl were pretty much left to their own devices without any ruling hand or set power structure.
And I'm sure they could have come to some agreement with ss as far as elimination of hollows if they were an issue in their lands.
20:50 i think yes. i think he unconsciously activated an innate form of the Antithesis to protect her. which is why she grabs hold of him and cries out to him. if she had the Antithesis, she obviously would've used it to protect him. and she would've fallen. but instead, the son protected the mother. though obviously, it didn't last. given that she did eventually die 3 months later. it also makes more sense to me that Uryu has it. not only did Soken survive this Auswählen, but Ryuken did as well. i think the Antithesis might be a trait unique to the Ishida family. they are the Antithesis: the Opposites of God. the Adversaries to Yuhabaha. perhaps The Adversary is the true form of The "Antithesis"? or maybe each Ishida has a different version of this power. maybe Ryuken has The Adversary, Uryu has The Antithesis, and Soken had something else? The Aberration, perhaps? (or Ryuken has The Aberration, and Soken had The Adversary)
in fact, wouldn't it be funny if Uryu used his Innate Schrift after drinking Yuhabahas blood? but before he inscribed the Letter on his Soul? to but his blood in his own stomach. and his new plan in the anime, the thing only he can do: involves him somehow activating this unholy blood? although it would be hard to pull this off without him noticing. so, probably not

Remember schrifts are just ywach drawing out innate powers of the individual similar to how zanpakuto draw out the powers of a shinigami and not ywach granting people special powers out of nothing

@@mathanon217 No, it's already explained how Schrift work in the manga as well as in the anime through the keyword eyecatch. Schrift refer to the special abilities given by Yhwach. The letters correspond with the first letters of the names that represent the abilities themselves. The Sternritter literally get Yhwach's soul. Nowhere is it stated that the powers come from the Sternritter themselves. Pernida and Gerard are the only exception where they just get the Schrift as letters nominally without additional power.
@LightKeyDarkBlade as explained on klub outside by kubo the way the sternwritter are granted their schrifts is via ywach seeing potential in their soul and drawing out that potential via using a piece of his soul and engraving them with a letter but the power they are granted originates from them and not ywach which is part of why bazz and the bambis still have them despite losing vollstandig which is a result of ywachs soul

I just got a crazy theory. So what IF Uryu was born like Haschwalth and Yhwach with no innate ability to collect reishi, but he STOLE his powers from katagiri on accident? That would honestly make so many things make sense. Like how Uryu got his powers back after Letz Stile, and how Ryuken CLEARLY has some resentment for Uryu.
@@jackblackrosedragon9325 This theory holds little water, tbh. The process by which he got his powers back seems to be a standard, albeit dangerous route for any Quincy, and it ties into how the Soul works in Bleach
I have recently been contemplating the same thing though I think it's somewhat unlikely but it would explain all the stuff about uryu being untalented at the quincy arts and why he was able to survive but it still feels like it's a longshot

@jackblackrosedragon9325 another idea I had recently is that there might be something with mimihagi going on based on that weird blut pattern on his hand that looked like mimihagi when uryu got his red eyes. This also came about in part because the kid uryu falling sick reminded me of the flashback with ukitake and how the anime changed it so mimihagi itself doesn't seem to be inside ukitake but just some of his power that ukitake is using his organs as fuel to make more of

Another thing, I really wish Yoruichi’s fight with askin would’ve forced her to reveal & use her zanpaktou, making her use shi & bankai. Aside from say Aizen…Yoruichi’s zanpaktou abilities are the ones I most wish would be shown.
I paused this at 26:53. I think Ishida sniped Ichigo through a place in Ichigo's chest that would not kill him. Ishida has seen Ichigo survive from way worse. Ishida has surgeon precision so he could easily pull off that shot.
My theory on what the scene with uryu and his mom probably meant, is maybe uryu accidentally used antithesis that day and reversed the effects of aushwalen to his mom. Cuz yhwach says uryu was the only Quincy to survive aushwalen. This makes me think yhwach Targeted uryu that day with his aushwalen originally.. but somehow it went to uryu mom instead of uryu. Making it he was the only survivor
What about the other 3 sternritters that got through Auswählen? Are they an exception to this
Technically ichigo survived it, and maybe karin, she might be a baby by then. They would all be impure Quincy

@@soldierbreed if I remember yhwach can actually target who is hit by aushwalen and who's not. Yhwach needed ichigo in the future to cut down the soul king since he is a perfect hybrid. So that's why I always thought he never went after ichigo with aushwalen and his sisters.

That's why he needed to take more souls, that's why he has his sternritter fight. So when they fight or die, the ones the sternritter fight and the sternritter themselves all go back to yhwach when they die. Boosting his power to where he can use Almighty at 100% capacity to defeat ichibei and destroy the soul king.

my theory as to what Uryu's new plan to defeat Yhwach is that he might do something the involves exploiting the antithesis to kill him. Or he might have something planned with his dad since he was the one who was still holding on to Soken's journal and allowed Uryu to read it.

I feel like it is very likely uryu or his mother had some form of antithesis. It could also explain ryukens cold demeanor towards uryu if uryu had been the one who had antithesis and accidently activated it. But considering uryus mothers wings were coming out, it probably was her doing. So stoked for cour 4.

Katagiri must have done something to save Uryu, while sacrificing herself. That would also explain why Ryuken is so cold towards his son, part of him still blames Uryu for his wife's death.
I like the idea that she has some version af the antithesis.
I have a feeling that we may get an actual Ukitake fight. They've really gone out of their way to show that he's not dead yet. I'm wondering if with Mimihagi no longer being able to stabilize the world, Ukitake may manifest through it somehow in order to fight and stall Yhwach more directly.

Before this episode, the established law for Katagiri was that she was a half-blood Quincy and a maid, but powerful enough to be the personal bodyguard to Ryuken (the Quincy heir). Later she marries Ryuken and has Uryu, then we are told she was sick and weak; Katagiri was affected by auswahlen and died three months later. Finally, in this episode, we see she wasn't affected by auswahlen; Uryu and the maid holding the umbrella collapse while she is left standing. The whole pure-blood quincy vs half-blood or spoiled-blood Quincies strongly suggested that those killed first were the weaker Quincies (i.e not pure blood). If Uryu's mother wasn't affected then with a pure-blooded father, Uryu should be OK. The only thing that Uryu has is low blood pressure. Then there are hints about Mimihagi with a visual effect on Uryu hand in the Royal palace. Finally, MrTommo2304 (I missed this one) noticed the reflection in the water of something going on (blue light) which suggests either Katagiri, Uryu or a third party does something to allow Uryu to survive.
So did Soken write down what happened in his journal and Uryu learned the 'truth'?
Is Ryuken the only one who really knows what happened but chose to keep this secret from Uryu (for whatever reason)?
Or nobody really knows, but Soken and Ryuken made educated guesses and came up with a story to tell Uryu.
If there is a third party /parties involved : is it Aizen, the Royal guard, Urahara, an unknown Aizen-type character in the background or an unknown powerful Quincy?
Lots of questions and not many answers.
I don't think I've seen anyone mention it, but I think Uryu know's that Ichigo can read his opponent's feelings when he's fighting, and the entire flashback and internal monologue was everything he told Ichigo during their brief fight. Ichigo must've been trying to put on a show for Haschwalth and pulled Uryu away the first chance he got. That's why they didn't resume fighting once landing.
We better get a full episode of the vizards fighting Gerard. They’ll still get beaten but at least they prove they are not easy to take down
One episode for them and one for Byakuya, Zaraki, Soi Fon and Toshiro seems ideal, unless they add flashbacks, which would give Gerard a three episode long fight. They can do Askin's fight in one and a half episode tbf so it could mean 5 episodes combined for both fights. 3 episodes for all the next fights with Yhwach, and then we would still have 5 episodes for new plots involving Hanataro, Chad, Ganju, Nel, the Fullbringers and those in Seireitei (Izuru and Tetsuzaemon).
@@axelvinicius3365Glad I’m not the only one that remembers that Soi Fon is with Byakuya and knows what that might mean. She most likely will join them in the Gerald fight. Everyone just forgets her or writes her of do completely.

@ I never liked that idea. Askin is too busted with his immunity power and she wouldn’t even be able to show off her abilities after a couple of punches. She gets used tossed aside and used to anger Yoruichi more and be completely useless since she can’t change her riastu. I would rather her just get a good fight against Gerald where she shows off what she really is capable of since he basically is a giant punching bag that lets everyone show off their powers. Kubo abandoned that plot and it too late to care for it now.
@@doginababyseat5127 She isn't doing much and against Gerard and feels even more shoehorned. At least there's a good character reason for her to be with Yoruichi, and she could try her own shunko or even Suzumebachi's sure kill ability on Askin.

I really want the vizard to have a part in taking down a stage of Gerard. It would tie really nicely into the hollows being toxic to quincy that went nowhere after the bankais are taken back. (Besides maybe being a part of why grimmjows strike is so lethal against asken, besides the obvious lack of heart haha.)

Also do we ever actually see the Seretei turning back to normal? Was it because the Vandenreich was physically brought up to the Royal Palace and turned into the Varvehlt?
You know? I've been thinking and I believe that Kubo's reveal to the anime staff about a never seen bankai it isn't Aizen's but Isshin's.

I’m surprised you didn’t mention that the ending ran in reverse on this episode. It was a little detail that I thought was really clever with the way the actual story segment of the episode finished
On the Auswählen flashback I wonder if maybe that wasn't a Vollständig but Letzt Stil and maybe Katagiri was spared because she was strong enough to not be targeted, we know it goes for the sick/injured, weak, and old first
Letz Stile is such an interesting theory. It ties into Soken not giving up his Letz Stile for a Voll Stern Dich, and him potentially teaching it to Katagiri to protect his family. Especially since him and Ryuken were not on good terms. It could even potentially be the basis for the antithesis being a contradictory power to Ywach to protect "impure" quincies.

I do find it funny that the Zchutstaffel (Probably butchered the name) was finally given a name in a joke segment that ends the third part, but overall I can't wait for part 4 to be released maybe in the latter ot 2025, though probably 2026 honestly.

What I love about Bleach is that there are no traditional heroes.
The leaders of the Shinagami are either evil, amoral, or extremely lawful neutral. They treat those beneath them with contempt and thrive on a world of suffering. They literally created the concept of death to cement their power.
The Quincy are just as reprehensible. YH only cares about resetting the world at whatever cost.
Everyone is compromised. The Blood War is not between paragon and villains, but against two equally fanatic and morally ambiguous factions fighting to create a world that best suits them.
This story could have been written with the Wandenreich as the protagonist group and not much would have changed.
Katagiri survived because of Umbrella Sama 😂

I’m always confused about the Antithesis theories because I believed that the ability can only affect two things that have already had something occur between them. But people seem to talk about it as if Uryu can just take anything that happens to him and stick it to someone else.
If Uryu or his mother used the antithesis, wouldn’t the target be Yuha since he was the one using Auswhalen on them?
We don't really know the limits of Antithesis, it's just broken. He's already used it on a coin, so there's no reason to believe he can't just swap events with static objects. He could just make the air particles around him get targeted by Aueswhalen instead of himself or something equally busted.
For the specific instance of the auswhalen I think Uryuu instinctively used the antithesis to switch the effects of the auswhalen from katagiri onto himself

Your favorite captain mentioned earlier that he doesn't believe that using evil methods to defeat evil doesn't make one evil - doesn't that apply to Yhwach as well?
Hot Springs Homie even mentioned that his waters couldn't clean the blood / sins from Ichibei. When you're up against a perceived wrong and 'humiliating' circumstance that is counter to everything you've known, & fatal to your kind - the worst you can say here is that empirically, Yhwach adopted the tactics of the Soul Society 1000 years ago that exterminated them. Or the Soul Society of 200 years ago that murdered the Quincy peace force. Or the one from Uryu's youth that tortured and dissected Souken. Or the Soul Society of now that authorized Mayuri's experiments on the Quincy survivors.
I think the biggest takeaway here is that if these are Uryu's powers *now* - in ten years, he'll be a true king of the Quincy - and that'd make him 'the Antithesis' to the Shinigami.
There just aren't many powers that are capable enough to *move* a hollow hole outside their body. Uryu is a genius Doctor, loves stitching, & is the Quincy Emperor. If the blood from Yhwach running in Uryu's veins is still bent on eliminating this order of the world, we'll be revisiting this later whenever the new arc happens.

I haven’t read the manga, but what if (completely spitballing this) katagiri was somehow directly related to yhwach and therefore immune to auswahlen? If yhwach was for example Uryus grandfather on his mothers side then it would also be a cool storytelling contrast to soken ishida. Maybe only yhwachs first generation children are immune to auswahlen? I have no idea
I've always said that Yhwach is a cult leader and the way the anime is doubling down on his hypocracy just makes it clearer

And then Katagiri did the same thing to her son, switching the situations of Uryu not having the power and unable to resist the Auswahlen and Katagiri now being able to resist and having the power? That or something to do with the Leiden Hant…
When ya think about it, the “situations” could be incredibly varied, especially with one’s perspective. On top of that, imagine if Uryu later changes the situation between himself and Yhwach’s by one “having the Almighty”. He wouldn’t even have to trade the power, he could straight up steal it by reversing their specific “situation”
I had to hold myself back from shouting since my roommates were asleep when I saw this episode but I was so hyped to see all the visored return with their masks! Considering how they redeemed the zero division, I hope they do justice to the Visored’s final hurrah too 🙏
Also, if we could get an extended scene of Kira mopping up the lielle clones and have The fullbringers and Kukaku help with that, would be so sick to see. Fingers crossed
I think the last episode was more a combination of what is to come not "for fact" scenes. Like they have these parts animated, maybe not in the entire way they want yet, and want to share something for the fans to excite them and build hype
