Great that it worked on xmit! Great treasure haul Peter 73 de VK2AOE
Love the aesthetics of the Icom rig - that was a real bargin !
Oooh the IC202 was GOLD!! How I wanted one of those in my youth! Well done, let's hope there's no intermittent fault.
There were 3 or 4 of that line of rigs there. Including at least one other IC202. The advent of the FT817 has probably devalued rigs like this and the FT290. It's continued to be rock-solid with good results on Tuesday's vertical SSB net.
IC202 used to be a favourite for pairing with UHF transverters. Made a good tuneable IF. Would think old 817s would hold their value still, if in ok condition. I would have found the other 202 hard to ignore. Good thing I wasn't there.
Excellent purchases.
The Drew Diamond books have amazing designs.
The HP attenuator is nice! Quality unit.
The 2m transceiver is a beaut!

I always look forward to you going through your ham swap finds. Getting old RF treasures for free or cheap, then going through them and fixing what's broken is one of my favorite ham pastimes. A very quick test for air variable caps is to put them on a multi-meter and turn the shaft and watch for the infinite resistance to jump around. With my old eyes that helps me a lot. I have a 355C I got for $10 at a swap, thinking it might need some work on the contacts, or worse, but it performed like new. One of those lucky finds.
Wish I was there, was busy that day 😢 Lovely to see the great bargains you snagged 😊
What a haul you made at the market. How fun. The fact that the Icom 202 was a little off frequency, and a minimal amount of cleaning and a little technical benching and you were making cusos out your back door. BRAVO
I enjoy doing that for the old 11 meter equipment I can acquire.
Very cool and informative video, thank you Sir.

Good Day 🫡✌️👍
Well done 👍🇬🇧
Great haul, great bargains!
You have done well! I bought Drew Diamond's books from the WIA Bookshop they cost me $25 dollars each. I also had the IC-202 ssb radio and the Realistic marine radio - I put high side crystals in mine and got onto 10m AM.
For sure a bergain! ...I want those variable capacitors 😮
Thanks for your videos
👍Nice haul Peter. I think I still have a copy of that RSGB 5th Edition book - bought new back in the 80s!
When I saw that attenuator, I thought, "Peter will have that on the FT-817 in jig time".... Sure enough 😂.
Nice looking old cb radio sets
Another great haul. Now I feel a little guilty planning to buy a new rig.
I'm suprised there was some good stuff still there, I thought all the traders swoop in or seller to seller trades going on before opening.
Most of my purchases were in the last hour or so.
Wow Peter,
I have not seen a 27.880 rig for decades since the days of David Golds which was before you were born. I have no idea of what use it is today.
Actualy heard a marine user on .880 yesterday. As for usefulness, wait until tonight's video!
