This is a favorite OTR broadcast of its time. For me none other measures up. The plots are very creative. The plots twist and turn. My mom and I listened to Inner Sanctum (One she liked) when I was a little boy.
I have listened to most of the 471? episodes. At the beginning of the series there was a growth curve to be learned. But the elements were still there. What movies do you see that surprise you at the end. The details of the stories are many. The stories are told with clarity in the those detail and now they almost do not fail to surprise me. This show, OTR beats TV in my estimation. The dung we have on today? Well, that is another subject. I have to discipline myself and pull away from OTR Gunsmoke. And Apple gives short shrift to OTR to its harm I believe. Well, I am an old geezer and this generation has passed me by. All the best.
“Hello, my name a-Wong Lee…for French’s Worcestershire sauce…!! Amazing reflection of the time this was made. My God, in 2022, the vocal masses of thin skinned, politically correct SJW’s would go bat-shit crazy & try to cancel French’s, the voice actor who played Wong Lee, everyone that was ever associated with him, every individual ever associated with producing or broadcasting Gunsmoke, every actor that ever appeared in its radio or television broadcasts, every network that ever aired it, probably every store that ever sold French’s products, maybe even any restaurant or household that uses their products!! I’m not saying this advert is acceptable, but it’s crazy how over-reactive people are today. My feeling is that the market should dictate what’s socially acceptable & what isn’t. I’d bet that the loudest, most angry protests would not be from the Asian community, but from liberal media & ivy-league educated blow hards that lust to have their voices & opinions heard… Crazy! All that said, I’m certainly glad that youtube actually allows these cherished Gunsmoke episodes to include the actual advertisements that were presented at the time of its airing. I mostly hear those from L&M filters and Chesterfield cigarettes… 2 brands that are scarcely seem today!
Please understand how ridiculous the stereotypical Asian stereotype the character and accents are. These folks have often learned our language and culture and American history better than most native born Americans.
And Matt's loneliness continues... When a man's interest gets piqued like that (I'm using Kitty's reaction as my basis.), it should be addressed. After all these years (!), the writers saw fit to keep Kitty/Matt just far enough apart to preserve something/whatever. I'm not a writer/poet/critic. 'Just observing while I still can. 👍😊🙏🇺🇸. P.S. I liked this one, including the commercials (warts and all, agreed), and ending music.

So much better than today’s tv.
Great show.

I agree, but I liked the music better in the earliest episodes--at the end.
A very interesting story, and quite surprising. Romance comes to Dodge, and Kitty becomes more than a little jealous... 23 Nov 2024
Then there is Calamity Jane. . . .
There is an episode with her in it.
What did he say after he said goodbye at the very end?
Her name. He said Goodbye Phoebe.
👍❤🤠
Phoebe sounds like Barbara Eden

Ah-so
Interesting woman’s liber during the peak of the Wild West .
Asian folks don't talk that way in life, the commercial.
Granny 13AD that commercial wouldn't be aired these days. it's pretty offensive . ..wow!
Granny 13AD, Do you personally know how Americanized immigrant "Asian folks" talked 60 years ago?
@@Usrname.24 What is so offensive about it?
@@Usrname.24 So you're telling us there are no Chinese Women today who speak English EXACTLY like that?!? 😂
