Found out we are moving to the Auckland area at the end of August for a job opportunity my wife landed (we are from the US). Extremely excited. Looks beautiful and from what I have heard the people are friendly. We plan on living in Stonefields as of now. Keep up the good videos, I really enjoy them. Cheers!

For anyone who loves the movies and books I think this is mindblowing. It's so cool seeing all the details of the shire from the vegetable garden to the smoke from the chimney. You will be happy from the moment you arrive to the moment you leave then you'll be sad cause you'll wish you were still there. That's certainly how I feel 😂❤

I didn't realize Lord of the Ring was filmed in NZ. I was a big fan of the series. Food looks amazing! Love all the fried dish offerings haha. Set tour plus banquet sounds like the option to go for. It's awesome to see how they preserved the movie set. I guess it's quite lucrative for them too. Family style banquet seems very fitting for the theme and the type of food served too. As a Kiwi who's been living in Australia since 1984.....you guys have really made me homesick!!! I toured NZ for 4 years in the lates 60's, early 70's as a musician and loved it but then headed over here and ended up in the software industry....no complaints. But now in my 60's and after watching your VLOGS, I'm definitely planning a trip with my partner (whose never been to NZ) hopefully in Spring 2021. I've pointed her to your VLOGS and she is stunned by NZ's varied beauty. Aussies don't have a clue about rivers, lakes and actual mountains and their sheep aren't white either :-)). Miss NZ. Loved this edition - your editing, music choice and production was fantastic. Love the beautiful vibe you two have as a couple and as presenters!

We had the great good fortune to tour NZ back in 2005 and stumbled upon the OLD Hobbiton set. It cost us nearly 100NZ$ back then and we didn't get even a bagel!! :) I still remember the curmudgeon who drove our bus around...his name was Horndog, I kid you not! Your video tours are awesome!! Unfortunately it's an external movie set only. The house are generally hollowed out you can peer into one but there isn't much in there. The inside scenes were all shot in Wellington in a studio 🤔
Aaaaahhh this is so cool 😍😍 we have always wanted to visit the Hobition village, so cute!! It looks really magical! Its like a little tiny pixixe village! I wish you cpould actually live somewhere like this 😂 I (sally) have never even seen the movies, but I still really want to visit! OMG the banquet with the fire, the cat and the candles is just so dang cute!!!! Side note, do you guys think it would be better to travel to NZ in winter or summer? We have become obssesed with visiting recently 😍
Summer in New Zealand is the best but at the same time it's also notoriously expensive time to visit. I'd recommend the winter shoulder periods if you want to save some cash. Biggest thing is it rains a ton during then so that's the tradeoff. Glad you enjoyed hobbiton 😊👍

As a Kiwi who's been living in Australia since 1984.....you guys have really made me homesick!!! I toured NZ for 4 years in the lates 60's, early 70's as a musician and loved it but then headed over here and ended up in the software industry....no complaints. But now in my 60's and after watching your VLOGS, I'm definitely planning a trip with my partner (whose never been to NZ) hopefully in Spring 2021. I've pointed her to your VLOGS and she is stunned by NZ's varied beauty. Aussies don't have a clue about rivers, lakes and actual mountains and their sheep aren't white either :-)). Miss NZ.

Thanks leah! We did have an epic time in hobbiton it was one of my favorite activities in New Zealand yet. I do really love those movies though. I think if you can the banquet is 100% worth it. Such an unforgettable experience.
I enjoyed the cinematic fantasy movie vibe in some of the B-roll. Good to see that the food was good too. Themed restaurants don't have a good track record.
Yeah this one felt like high quality English roast. Considering it's a small town and a tourist activity I was extremely impressed with the food 🤤👌

We had the great good fortune to tour NZ back in 2005 and stumbled upon the OLD Hobbiton set. It cost us nearly 100NZ$ back then and we didn't get even a bagel!! :) I still remember the curmudgeon who drove our bus around...his name was Horndog, I kid you not! Your video tours are awesome!! Thank you!!!

This is something we've wanted to do for a while but the cost made us a bit reluctant too. After doing this though it's one of the most incredible experiences especially since we love the movies totally recommend it 👍

This is so cool! I've heard that the whole Lord of the rings tourism is quite big there but didn't know the actual set was there like that...and the restaurants look really fun.
Dude such a cool experience definitely one of the coolest things we've done so far. But I'm also a massive lord of the rings fan. The green dragon inn was just icing topping off a wonderful tour 😁

I(daniel) would be geeking out. I like lotr a lot, more so the books than the movie. Started reading them in grade 3 (8 years old). Lol. Hey love the music and popping up in a cloud of smoke was pretty darn cool too!

Unfortunately it's an external movie set only. The house are generally hollowed out you can peer into one but there isn't much in there. The inside scenes were all shot in Wellington in a studio 🤔

Aaaaahhh this is so cool 😍😍 we have always wanted to visit the Hobition village, so cute!! It looks really magical! Its like a little tiny pixixe village! I wish you cpould actually live somewhere like this 😂 I (sally) have never even seen the movies, but I still really want to visit! OMG the banquet with the fire, the cat and the candles is just so dang cute!!!! Side note, do you guys think it would be better to travel to NZ in winter or summer? We have become obssesed with visiting recently 😍
Summer in New Zealand is the best but at the same time it's also notoriously expensive time to visit. I'd recommend the winter shoulder periods if you want to save some cash. Biggest thing is it rains a ton during then so that's the tradeoff. Glad you enjoyed hobbiton 😊👍

The whole town is cool like that. They've all gotten behind the hobbiton band wagon and as a lover of the movies it really adds to the build up of visiting the movie set ✌
