Our language is studied to the highest level in school
Being an Asante has always been about wealth and power. Common floor members, from lower classes who don't have anything are the ones ruffling feathers and being condescending on social media everyday to boost their self-esteem. No proper elite, well-brought up Asante has time for those things. It is the condescension, no one is against you being proud of your culture. But when some people start passing statements which indirectly insults other tribes that is where it begins. For example, if you are speaking your local language and an Asante tells you to speak Twi, it is very condescending and disrespectful to your culture. It is the cultural hegemonism both overt and subtle that attracts the tribal sentiments. Some of them do it without knowing it and gaslight you when try to point it out.
