It was quite brave of Red Rose Radio to take on this shock jock. I enjoyed the show immensely, it was raw, real people, silly people, offended people, passionate people. Was tired for school the next day. James Whale was a decent replacement.
Human embrio experiments was topic of the day "I was just wondering were I could go to do some" not sure could be 85, me and my mates were avid listeners, loved the characters.

The anti Scouse stuff was just a bit of a joke really,he worked in Liverpool for many years,he gave a great interview to the "end" magazine from Liverpool about his show and his attitude to callers from Liverpool. The more abuse he gave to Liverpool,the more they would call in to try and wind him up. I think he's from Warrington,not Manchester and he's now got a nightly programme on BBC Lancashire.

Can someone please tell me what that Red Rose Radio event was about that was held at the Three Sisters Race Curcuit in Wigan and what year and date it was?. All I know that it was sometime in either 1989 or early 1990. I remember going to it and there were a few TV personalities there including newsround presenter John Craven, Corrie's William Roache, Sean Wilson (Martin Platt), Michael LeVell (Kevin Webster), and Ian Sharrock who played Jackie Merrick in Emmerdale around the late 80s. I've asked a few people but noone seems to know. I remember having those Red Rose 301 FM stickers that they gave out to people. I couldn't find any contemporary newspaper articles from any Wigan newspaper to check if it was mentioned, the ones available online you have to pay to view them, and there's nothing I could find on the BBC website or the Genome site about it. I'm guessing they were doing a live broadcast there which I'm assuming must have been archived?. I know it was a long time ago. I don't think it had anything to do with the split into Rock FM and Red Rose Gold as that was around June 1990 I've heard, and I'm pretty sure it was earlier than that. If anyone knows I would love to know. Thanks.

Allan said "go and get on another plane glen" and had to apologise the next night because Glen Miller fans phoned in to complain to the station. I'd love to find my contribution.

I loved this show. His dislike of Scousers was the start of trolling, he did it with a lot of people but he wound Scousers up all the time.
