Hi a bit late but from what I understand you can like thinks by senses that don’t deal with emotion as well as Maddy does have feelings she has just been taught how to repress them since they aren’t meant to be expressed, in the first streams animatic if I remember, you can see her visibly get stressed with causes her to take a break and then find out the dragon is gone and finally leave home, if she was incapable of feeling she would just sleep to reduce nerves or stay home and not do anything like a computer would do (shut down or enter sleep mode/end programs to clear memory)
