    when was the last time you changed an old filter?

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 роки тому +8

      Please don’t ask me about it, I feel bad. Was supposed to do it last service around 10 months ago but somehow it got forgotten.
      So I never did change it, I had first service done bye dealer so guess it would be around 2 years now. It should be replaced every service 1 year!

    Blessed be those who put part numbers for everything in their videos, for they will be rewarded with subs.

    Great video,. On UK car (right hand drive) is pollen filter located on drivers, or passenger side?

      These right hand models make me so confused even think about it haha. I actually don’t know but I would guess passenger side.

    Great video. I pulled the original MB plastic slide lock off because the MANN slider was too tight.

    Tjenare, kan det börja blåsa någon annanstans till och från om fjädern är borta? Tex om man känner att ACn lägger "av" för att sen starta men man känner att det blåser kallt ändå men man känner inget i utblåsen.
    Can the fan outlets stop blowing if the airfilter springs are gone but it still feels like it is blowing from somewhere else for example when you use the AC?

    Pro tip- don’t pull down the carpet at the start like I did. The Torx bit fell off the screwdriver and down under the floor pad. Never found it. Luckily I had another. Also, pay someone to do this if you have bad knees or back as a lot of contortions are needed to get the job done. I couldn’t get the Mann filter to lock, seemed a bit too big and had to put the OEM back in. PITA job.

  • @BongoJ89

    it’s quite difficult to slide plastic lock in place, so better to lube the edge before and right metal clamp really annoying, that’s why I think previous mechanic just never placed them back. PS my car previously been maintained in dealership but floor carpet left edge been folded and that’s why it’s haven’t been in place, now I fixed that

    I tried to install this filter in my W204 C250 AMG CGI. But it was not fitting well. Too high and couldn’t close the slide. I have to return it altough it should fit according to VIN number.

    My W204 is also missing those springs, actually had no idea that it had springs there! 😂 Gonna check with MB Trucks if they have them in stock here in Brazil - the springs are also used in the MB Vito van - because MB Cars would charge me like 100 dollars for each clip haha

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 роки тому

      Seems really common the mechanics don’t care about these clips, probably because is take time to put them back 😅 Hopefully you got them that way 100$ each seems bit expensive haha.

    Hi, I am amazed at the accessibility of this filter, why try so hard.
    I had a 406 and 607 Peugeot, I could change the filter without tools, in 3 minutes.
    a bad point for Mercedes (I now have an S212), unless that is so that the owners come back to the dealership.
    Best Regards
    Eric

      I guess it was about 2 years ago when I did my first service at the stealer! Somehow I forgot this last time doing my first service at home, and now I feel bit ashamed about it. I probably not should added the dust part in the video 😂
      Only drove few kilometers from the garage at home but no smell so far I let you know when I have driving for some days 🤟

    FYI: at the begining when you disconnect the TEMP PROBE to remove plastic cover...
    this creates a DTC FAULT in the HVAC Module !!!
    Connect your ODBII scanner to clear that fault (Faults introduce network latencies that add up)
    👍

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 роки тому

      Going to check that did not see any mention on the mb documents I may have missed that.
      So you mean should not take out the actual temperature! Only disconnect the actual cable clip when remove it?

    • @glasser2819
      @glasser2819 3 роки тому

      No disconnect is good because it creates a DTC as soon as TempSensor is disconnected
      (with the ignition being "off" the HVAC module should be sleeping but no, HVAC module sees its missing sensor = DTC Fault!).
      Use a good scanner to clear that fault.
      No disconnect, no extra problem
      🤗

    • @MB212
      @MB212  3 роки тому +6

      Checked the mb documents again and the right procedure is to disconnect the cable for temperature.
      Run fault search with Xentry no fault codes at all. Checked all values in the module and they are all good! So is should not be any problem.
