Hey guys, and welcome back! Today, I’m going to be talking about Home Chef, which is a subscription-based meal kit delivery service that offers healthy, customizable meals and meal kits that are delivered straight to your door. On their website, it says that one of their main goals is to make having healthy, home-cooked food much easier than you’re used to. They deliver fresh ingredients each week, which is essentially supposed to make it easier to have home cooked meals with no meal planning, no shopping, minimal preparatio n, and a shorter cooking time. And, after using Home Chef for about a year now, I can say pretty confidently that their meals taste great, their kits are really convenient, and most of the recipes are designed with beginner cooks like myself in mind. - Of course, no service or product is ever perfect, so I’ll also be talking about where I found Home Chef to be a bit lacking, so that you have the whole picture. But overall, Home Chef might be worth trying out if you’re someone who wants to eat tasty and healthy food, without spending too much time planning, shopping, and prepping. So, in this video, I’ll be going over Home Chef’s food, their meal plans, their pricing, and everything else that you’d probably want to know before you decide if you want to try them o ut or not. And when I signed on, I managed to find a special link for Home Chef, which automatically applied a disc ount that I wouldn't have been able to get had I gone straight to their website. Now, most of us want a healthy lifestyle, which of course starts with eating healthy food. But sometimes the time and effort that it takes really, really add up to the point where, when I get busy, I don’t plan ahead so much and I just end up being so hungry that I just eat whatever, regardless of my health or my diet. And that’s where Home Chef tries to step in by delivering fresh, pre-portioned ingredients. They try to save you both time and hassle that would otherwise be spent on meal planning, driving to the store, shopping, waiting in line, hauling groceries, prepping and cooking meals, and cleaning up. Now, I signed on with them about a year ago, when I got too busy with work to be able to really focus on a healthy diet. And, for me, it's really been a lifesaver to help keep off the extra pounds. And in terms of preparing Home Chef's meals, you don’t need to be a chef or a cooking aficionado because the recipes come with really simple instructions, and most of them are specifically made for beginners. Now, in terms of signing up, it's pretty straightforward. You create an account on the website, fill in a few details, and then they ask you about your preferred diet and any allergie s that you might have. They’ll ask things like if you’re a vegetarian, if you’re carb-conscious, looking to lower your calories, or on a keto diet, and so on and so forth. It only took a minute or two to answer all of those questions, and then there are some questions about whether you have allergies or if you’d just generally like to avoid some foods like peanuts, shellfish, or pretty much anything else. Now, Home Chef is really not meant for someone who’s a pro at cooking, loves meal prepping, and enjoys shopping for groceries. But, for most of us who want to eat healthy but are busy or just don’t want all the hassle, Home Chef is a really good option. Or at least a great backup to have for those nights that you don't feel like cooking, even if, most of the time, you absolutely love cooking. It’s also a great choice for those who want to learn more about cooking without actually having to take any cooking courses. Considering the convenience, the healthier lifestyle it promotes, and its cost-effectiveness compared to eating out or ordering takeout, it's something you might want to consider. And then there’s all the time you'd save compared to planning, shopping, and preparing everything from scratch. Alright, that’s it for today! Best meal service I have ever used. Fresh healthy quality ingredients and most are very easy to prepare. We get four meal a week and I get three of their new lunch options as well. Honestly I Hardley go grocery shopping and am saving money a while controlling my food intake. It also covenant and we don't have the old what's for dinner discussion anymore. not all the meals were bangers, but most have been good to really great. I highly recommend them.

For portion sizes.. I would say its generally satisfying. Their meals are designed to provide an adequate amount of food per serving. However, it's important to consider your personal appetite and preferences when choosing your meals

The recipe card features a large, glossy image of the dish, making it easy to visualize the final result. Additionally, Home Chef offers a mobile app for convenient use, and all their recipes can be accessed online. The instructions for their dishes are easy to follow but can be a bit wordy, as they provide thorough information, possibly catering to beginners.
Can you tell me about the difficulty levels and cooking styles of the Home Chef meal kits you tried?
I intentionally chose meal kits with varied levels of difficulty and multiple cooking styles in order to test-drive the full range of meal types that Home Chef advertises. Regardless of category, difficulty, or cook time, none of the recipes were too taxing to make; for example, any sauces included were either fully prepared or only required combining a couple of ingredients. One recipe did require the use of both stovetop and oven, but the others were one-pan only-definitely a welcome break for this cleanup-hating cook.
I'm grateful for how meal delivery services remove the dilemma of deciding what to prepare for dinner. Crafting innovative dinner ideas can be a struggle for me at times. The array of meal choices appeared delectable! Although the tacos were tempting, I'm especially keen on experiencing the Mahi Mahi. Opting for the microwave is a practical decision, especially during time constraints. Your sharing is much appreciated!

I'd suggest Home Chef for anyone trying to learn to cook from scratch or lighten their meal-planning or grocery-shopping load. Because many of Home Chef's meals are fast and easy to prepare and can feed up to six people, this is one of the best meal kit services for families. It's also good for people who are fairly specific about what they like to cook and eat since you can make so many changes and swaps. Because Home Chef makes it so easy to skip weeks -- and won't charge you for skipping -- it's great for those who travel or have unpredictable schedules.
What types of meals does Home Chef offer, do they offer like unique menus?
Home Chef provides a variety of meals that are easy to prepare and cater to a wide range of eaters. Their menu includes familiar comfort foods and classic dinner recipes, such as burgers, baked chicken, pork tenderloin, pasta dishes, and more. While most offerings are familiar, you can also find some creative menu items like prosciutto and butternut chowder or bruschetta and shrimp risotto.
What should eco-conscious consumers consider when using Home Chef?
Home Chef does come with a ton of packaging, most of which is plastic that’s not curbside recyclable, so bear that in mind if you’re an eco-conscious consumer. We had just over 70 individual pieces to contend with, including the box for the shipment, the insulated liner, ice packs, and the ingredients. While the packaging did ultimately protect and organize our ingredients effectively, it’s a little staggering to see that less than a third of everything was curbside recyclable, with the majority of the plastic only being eligible for recycling if taken to a specialty facility-which, let’s be honest, doesn’t happen in most homes, including my own.
Are Home Chef Meals Customizable?
While not every meal from Home Chef is customizable, most meal kit recipes allow you to customize your protein option. Items in the “culinary collection” are common exemptions, as are “Fast & Fresh” and certain “Oven-Ready” meals. If recipes are customizable, you’ll find the protein options under the “customize it” button on the menu page and your recipes will have instructions for all of the options available.
Can You Freeze Home Chef Meals?
Home Chef meals are not designed to be frozen, but it’s certainly possible to do so with some of the recipes or ingredients, especially if you are not able to use all of your ingredients in the time frame. Home Chef also has some premade lunch options that could be frozen, though reheating times would vary.
