    I truly enjoyed the intro and love the fact that you are will to show yourself during these movie reviews. There are too many gents out there on Social Media that only show their hands and... it is lame! Your videos over the past month have tripled in quality and I am glad you are able to share your movie, film, and cinematic knowledge 👍👍

    Some say the US "Ring" is superior, but I've never had the urge to rewatch it. But "Ringu" I rewatch at least once a year.

      You mean the US "The Ring" vs the original "Ring". There was never a "u" in the name. That was just for American Marketing. That's also the reason the Region B Version of this Set is just called Ring Collection without the u.

    I have the single Ringu release and so want to see the others. This is my only Arrow release, mostly because their website doesn’t make it easy to figure out what’s Region A versus Region B, and found it by chance at Barnes & Noble. It’s a pretty good film and much better tone wise compared to the j-horror remakes hollywood made.

      If there are a lot of titles you are after, I would highly suggest a region-free player. It is the best hardware purchase you can make for your collection. I'm glad you were able to get the film! :)

    Looks incomplete? It doesn't have ringu kanzenban? I'm not sure if that should be included? Also where's spiral?
    Edit: my bad it has spiral. So what's the watch order? By release dates?

    • @FilmCollectorArchive
      @FilmCollectorArchive  3 роки тому

      Yep...Spiral is there. I'm not sure about Kanzenban. I am not familiar enough with the series to give an educated response. In terms of watch order, release date would be my opinion.

    Is there a difference between this one and the one with the white box?

    • @FilmCollectorArchive
      @FilmCollectorArchive  3 роки тому +1

      I believe it's just a difference in the US and UK release. I think the content is the same.

      This Limited Edition comes with the 60 page booklet but the white version which is the Special Edition doesn't have the book. Everything else is the same.

      @@FilmCollectorArchive I have seen the white (Special Edition) in both Region A and B.

    Okay, I keep seeing RINGU and RING collection online. I’m guessing that RINGU is the original Japanese version and The Ring is the US remake??? Someone please educate me. I’m trying to acquire both versions from Arrow, but I want to make sure the version that I get has supplemental literature. Please help if it wouldn’t be too much trouble. Thank you, and keep up the good videos.

      You are correct. “Ringu” is the original Japanese film. “The Ring” is the US remake. Both received Arrow box sets. :)

      @@FilmCollectorArchiveno they didn't. Ring is the original Name of those movies. The added "u" was just an American Marketing idea since the remake came out at the same time. The u comes from taking the English word, then translating the the english syllables into katakana and then translating them back into latin Letters.
      The difference in name just comes from...the normal Region B Release of the Set is just called Ring Collection ...and the American Region A release has the added u in the title fir exactly this reason ...because otherwise a lot of Americans would believe its the remake.

    are these in Japanese language only? I hate reading sub titles

    • @FilmCollectorArchive
      @FilmCollectorArchive  3 роки тому

      Ya, audio is Japanese, with the English subtitle option. No English dub.

      @@FilmCollectorArchive I want to watch the movie, not read plus I don't read fast enough. is the American version that bad?

    • @FilmCollectorArchive
      @FilmCollectorArchive  3 роки тому

      No. The American version is good in its own right. But I can only speak for the first film. I haven’t seen the others.
