    If you have a 1/2” pinion offset…How would you pull the measurements? That’s what I’m doing in Nova right now. My 4 link brackets are welded on from a 1/2” offset. Then one tube would be 1/2” longer than the other correct?

    gave me some good ideas What about the center axle shaft how do you cut and reattach it?

    Where do I get that pinion center line guage?

      That one is from Chris Alstons Chassisworks. You can get them in many places though.

    Yes a lathe must be used to shorten. Even using a dial indicator on the axle tube and brake flange. We don't butt weld. We press fit our axle ends before welding.

      There are many places to get the alignment fixture. I use one from Chris Alston Chassisworks, which I think is the best one available. Good luck! 👍

    Is that a home made 8.75 Chrysler?

    • @ardentindustries
      @ardentindustries  4 роки тому +1

      No. Fabricated housing that accepts a Ford 9" third member.

      @@ardentindustries oh bad ass nonetheless, can you make an 8.75 ?

    The tube and ends need to be chamfered. The weld is simply laying on top of the butt joint with zero penetration.

      @ardentindustries  5 років тому +1

      Paul Deahl The tubes and ends are both chamfered, then a TIG root pass is used followed by a TIG cap. Thanks though.

    I don't think that's correct as you have moved the centres weight towards the right by 2.5 inches 🤔

    Very painful video to watch. If you’re into taking the long extended way to do things this video is for you.
