  • Indonesia Global Compact Network proudly presented PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk as a part of the SDG Innovation Accelerator for Young Professionals 2024!
As a key player in Indonesia's pulp and paper industry, PT Indah Kiat Pulp and Paper (IKPP) is committed to responsible forestry and reducing its environmental impact. Beyond production, IKPP also invests in research to innovate and create better, more eco-friendly products.
This year, IKPP created an innovation called “Interactive Analytic Dashboard for Mangrove Conservation Monitoring,” implemented in Ketapang, Tangerang Regency, Indonesia, that leads mangrove conservation with CSR initiatives focusing on sustainability and community well-being.
Mangrove conservation is integral for carbon sequestration, not only for the environment but also for local communities. It also protects coastlines and biodiverse habitats. Therefore, IKPP’s SDG team has taken up the challenge of improving mangrove monitoring by providing stakeholders with real-time developments.
By implementing this project, IKPP has successfully increased economic benefits through mangrove restorations, as fishermen noted an improvement in income from 25% to 50%. This project, namely the Ketapang Model, can serve as an authentic global example of advancing biodiversity conservation and climate resilience.
