I have a feeling your vids are going to raise the profile of this great app, which tends to be a bit under the radar for most artists. I think it's more popular for architects and other professionals who need to quickly, er... well, express a physical _concept_ (for some kind of contracted service proposal or project). But it's also super-duper for artists & creatives.
Thank you good sir, thank you for including android!! I wanted to see the differences between iOS and Android and I also needed a tutorial (android) so thank you, thank you!!
Bruh, the video is excellent. I've been "using" it for about 2 months but now I know how to draw a straight line lol I thought it was something only the apple pencil could do but it works with my cheap ass stylus. That being said i might even buy that overpriced pencil
You have me really curious about this, and I’m borderline getting it... but I will need to see how much it is first. I’d rather pay outright for the whole thing over a subscription, but I’ll see what the prince points are. I don’t mind paying for extra features, again, depending on how much.
Teoh Yi Chie I see... I went back again to look at the price points. I thought the Essentials price was monthly. But a one time purchase is definitely worth it for this. Cheers! :)
I have windows and I want to verify if the color palette is available. When I tap and hold the color nothing happens. Pretty frustrated that I can't create colors and can only use the preset colors. Very limited and not user-friendly for windows. Why would you create options for Apple users and then not do the same for windows?
Hi there, this is exactly what I need to see, really informative and great video thanks! Are you using the 11 or the 12,9 inches. Do you think the iPad pro 11 inches is a good option to create illustrations, initial mobile/desktop wireframes sketches and icon design apart of course the other posible visual designs tasks. I'm thinking about to buy an iPad to do this type of work but I'm not sure I I should go for the 12 inches that as you probably know if a bit more expensive or save a bit and just que se 11 one. It would be awesome if you can share your point of view on that. Cheers
11-inch is still a good size to work with. It's larger than an A5 size sketchbook. You can cut an A4 paper down to size and see for yourself. 11-inch is also significantly more portable and good if you need to bring it around much. The one in the video is a 12.9-inch.
@@teohyc thanks teoh I also checked out your iPad air review and it was really interesting. It makes me check the iPad air and I think it could also a good option to contemplate. I don't really need the Camara, face Id from the new 11 pro (I know the M1 processor is a monster) but do you think the iPad air with 64g is still a good option? Pretty much to use with concept app (illustrations, designs sketches and general pre design tasks is the screen still good in terms of size? Thanks mate
@@carlosribeiro4402 iPad Air is definitely powerful enough for all those tasks. Note that iPadOS will take around 16-18GB, and the actual storage of 64GB is actually 59GB. Concepts files are quite small so there's probably no issues with the smaller storage.
@@teohontech7141 thanks Teoh. I see and yes, the 64g will probably be an issue with the memory but the cost of the 128g version is not far for the basic iPad pro 11 price, so, I think its better to spend a bit more for the Pro. I need to do a bit more of exploration and see if the iPad air with 64 will be a good option in a couple of years. Cheers super helpful your comes and channel, keep going 🙌🏿
Teoh, I'm not able to get pressure sensitivity with my S-pen on a Galaxy Tab S7. Any ideas? The pressure sensitivity works fine in other apps. I know it's not officially supported but they say it should work, and you seem to have it working. Great great videos, as always!
i dont find the precision tool on the microsoft version. is it possible that this feature isnt included there ? i also bought the pro version. because i need to draw straight lines.
Android and Microsoft versions of Concepts have smaller feature set. BUT the straight line adjustment should be there. It's one of the three controls (precision, line width, transparency) beside the colour selector.
Yes. The Concepts company has mentioned they will port features so that iPad, Android and Surface have similar features in the future. No time frame provided though.
Hi Teoh, quick question for you since you both have the android and the apple version. Is some of the color features ipad only? I can't find the color palette option on my samsung tab. I'm using PRO version. Thanks and great tutorials!
Also on android, there's only an additional pdf import export in the one-time purchases and only brushes. No shapes. It looks like there are much more things to buy on ipad.
Yeah, unfortunately all those features are all missing in the Android version. The developers say they will try to match the features in the future but there's no time frame.
@@teohyc Hopefully soon. I'm specially interested with the ruler guides. I like the feature from Sketchbook app for drawing straight lines and also the guides for one point, two point, and three point perspective. Super useful specially when drawing structures and interiors.
Thanks Teoh, this might be the best free drawing app for all tools that are included in the free version...much better and easier to use than AUTODESK. Thanks again for posting.

imo if you're a stickler for precision with your lineart or you are a digital painter this app is not that good. The pen tool feels very imprecise and while I can see it being whimsical and lovely for the style of sketching that Teoh does or doing design work, it's pretty terrible if clean lines are your goal. Also no where near as many brushes nor brush customisation that procreate has... Procreate wins hands down in my opinion. The two things I LOVE about the Concepts app though are its tool selection circle UI and the Copic colour selection + swatch system UI. I really wish Procreate would add something like that in their app... it would be a fantastic QOL improvement. Oh and the auto layer switching is pretty cool too if you're someone who doesn't use lots of separate layers when working.

What is the best type of ipad i can use it
All the iPads are good for drawing so just choose one that fits your budget. Check out the refurbished ones from Apple's website too.

You can find Concepts tutorials on UA-cam

Why don't use clip studio paint only if the concept app is subscription-based too?
Concept has subscription as well as free-but-pay-for-tools mode. The latter is one time purchase and you get most of the features.
