@@BattaFastA couple of questions? Does every ICC limited-overs World Cup has every team playing each other? So how is that any less problematic than WTC? Also since you believe that WTC format is nonsensical, which teams should have made the last two WTC if the format was "right"?
LOL they haven't "given" freedom to anyone. The ICC, formerly Imperial Cricket Council, has ALWAYS been run unfairly, and previously was used to favor English cricket above all else. It has always been an instrument used by the dominant board of that time.
I'm going to reply to this in good faith. The WC example is quite obviously illogical, as the only teams which don't play each other are clearly are in separate groups. Every team in the same group DOES play each other. In the WTC, all teams are in the same league yet don't play the same number of games or each other. Find me a league that does that, because really no one does. And part of my frustration with the format is that we can't even say who should make it to the finals or deserved it or whatever because no one is being judged on an equal footing.
Btw if Pak decides to play Naseem, Shaheen, Hamza, Khurram Shahzad (and Ibrar/Noman Ali) in all 3 tests against Eng and don't make terrible captaincy errors like going without a spinner in that 1st Pindi test, they should be able to eke out a win in atleast one of the tests. Their batsman will get runs and if that attack is fully fit and remains constant for the series, it is talented enough to atleast win a test at home against Eng.
Why didn't you tell us before the test series started that Pakistan is so unpredictable and shitty that they can lose to anyone? Bangladesh still has a long way to go. Now if I say we didn't take Pakistan as a challenge than I am sure lots of Pakistani's would be angry at me. I'm sure if any of the five mentors were pundits hearing about the lunacy of the Champions Cup, they would criticise it pointing out the cost and the points you raise in this episode. Being cut off from bilateral series with India & IPL is indeed Astro turf moment for Pak cricket. World cricket(small family) needs Pakistan's unpredictability flair to keep cricket engaging. PCB should hire a FMCG manager who can advise the board on brand cannibalization of PSL via marquee competitions.
@@vjchats7684 I don't get the astro-turf point at all in this case. How has Pak been greatly disadvantaged by not getting to play bilaterals against India or by not getting to play in the IPL? In this period Pak had managed to built a fairly successful T20 league of their own which is quite profitable. Their players play both in PSL and in many leagues across the world and are doing very well financially. And every international team barring obviously India has come to Pak to play tests and other matches in the last 4 year or so. So where has Pak lost out on by not playing bilaterals against India?!
@@ST_117 Pakistan cricket's brand value minus bilateral series with India is not the same in terms of money fetched from broadcasting rights, ticket sales and fan engagement. Yes, Pak players are making money by playing marquee leagues across the world but that isn't the same as playing in IPL that has the best ecosystem in terms of coaching, mentoring, rubbing shoulders with the best, money and media exposure. Reason it is an astro-turf moment for Pak cricket is that minus the exposure to Indian cricketing market, Pak cricket is in survival mode since the 2009 terror attack on SL, terrorism, political instability and economic downturn and a bilateral series with India compensates the PCB for all of these negatives. Astro-turf here is a metaphor for new investments in terms of money, technology and best practices something which the PCB isn't able to do on scale as there's no engagement with the BCCI that generates the surpluses for them to make new investments.
If only all recent chairmen had shown some pragmatism and tried to engage with BCCI diplomatically rather than the nonsense maverick attitude of "Asia Cup will happen here, CT will happen here, India will have to come" as if they had any leverage or BCCI had any remote interest. What's going on at the political level in Pakistan is a shame. But PCB for it's own interest should have explored every possibility of keeping sport and politics separate, by being engaging and collaborative rather than rubbing shoulders and big mouths. Find a way, through an intermediary like a tri-series, or an A-tour, women's cricket, whatever. Be forthcoming, bear the initial burdens, but somehow resume something. But no, big egos prevail.
well said. Maybe people haven't checked the numbers for the broadcast deals for India series, but they are insanely high compared to the rest. And now, along with no bilaterals or IPL, Pakistan will likely struggle to host events as well, another huge revenue source. And as we have been at pains to explain, while the PSL is a revenue earner, the board seems intent on destroying it. So the situation is very much an existential crisis brought about by an institutional problem, much like astroturf
Sure they could have tried that but Amit Shah's son running the board meant that there was never going to be too much success with diplomacy. Those attempts have failed in arenas beyond cricket too
The Indian government should set aside ego and past incidents and allow the BCCI full freedom to resume bilateral cricket relations with Pakistan. If Pakistan's performance and viewership continue to decline, it would be detrimental to international cricket.
@@manisshthakur621 Actually Pakistan's cricket wouldn't automatically improve by playing bilaterals against India. The issue with Pakistan cricket (unlike South African or Windies cricket) isn't money, it is how (poorly) they manage their cricket. Playing against India will just help PCB mint more money, nothing else
Pakistan cricket has never been the epitome of professionalism but that doesn’t justify the international game being run in this way. Regardless of how the Pak board is run, if cricket is to be a serious sport it needs to have a functioning system. Find it very myopic to read comments which pretend the Indian board isn’t the problem.
@@BattaFast Mine was a specific reply to a specific pointed comment- that Pakistan playing bilaterals against India would somehow greatly benefit Pakistani cricket.
I answered this elsewhere to you as well, but this claim re India bilaterals makes zero sense. Think everyone knows that India series fetch the highest broadcast money, and particularly India Pakistan games have historically had a higher cachet still. The money earned from those is used to provide better salaries, better facilities, better everything. Further, they also don't play against one of the best teams in the world, nor get a chance to play in Indian stadiums in the IPL or bilaterals, which is another disadvantage at ICC events. It is actually a huge sporting and financial disadvantage, and this is before we get into the fact that this is also by far the biggest sporting rivalry and leads to the greatest interest in the sport, which again leads to more money and investment. I hope this is patently clear now.
Ahmer babar and shaheen are the highest paid athletes of pakistan how are they not treated well at the end money is what matters and their getting whts the problem

I'm sure if any of the five mentors were pundits hearing about the lunacy of the Champions Cup, they would criticise it pointing out the cost and the points you raise in this episode. So with their relative wealth, why is it so easy for them to ignore that and jump for the big bucks on offer? Why not take a stand and say "sorry, this isn't a good idea".
yeah sure, but i think the issue isn't them taking the money but the money being offered
26:37 if he don't want to play for pakistan .. kick them off .. a average player playing for pakistan will be much better than that kind of player
Then after a while average player will also go sick of playing for Pakistan. These are jobs and players deserve to be treated well.
did ahmer always have an american accent?
There’s videos of me from a decade ago on UA-cam I’ve always had the same accent dear
50 lac per person per month or 50 lac for all of those mentors per month? Insane !!
same question
Plz do answer Osman bhai
Per month
@@localfox1000 like 5 million combined for all 5 persons per month OR 5 million for each person per month?
@shariqhussain_ each. FWIW, Its on par with a lot of top International teams' pay scales.
@@localfox1000 man this is insane... Idk where in this world happens that your domestic coach gets higher monthly retainer than your top current players!!!

PSL should always be in the IPL window, we will have a lot better class of players available that are not playing the IPL. you will also not be competing with the emirates and south African leagues.
problem is that many good players dont make IPL XIs like glen Phillips, tom curran, livingstone, kane Williamson etc but would they rather be paid a lot more money to warm the bench and get few games in IPL or get less money but play as key players in PSL
@@cricketstation2004 no i am talking about the players who don't get picked in the IPL window. every year there are many players that don't even make the bench but they will still be an upgrade on the players playing PSL in the last 2 years
@@Sohaib19874 yeah but they wont be of top quality, nowadays even avg t20 players get IPL contracts to be on bench, maybe we could see smith Williamson in PSL who are high stature players that could get usnold in ipl
@@cricketstation2004 still better quality then what we have had on the bench, list of players that were unsold in last year's ipl Phil salt, finn Allen, Adam Milne, matt Henry, josh inglis etc. not the best but still better than what we have

Those attempts have failed in arenas beyond cricket too
Pakistan needs new stadiums. Why not clown broad spend money on building stadiums
tbf they have been working on upgrading stadia, which was 3 decades overdue due to combo of 9/11 SL attacks and then mulk ke halaat

The Indian government should set aside ego and past incidents and allow the BCCI full freedom to resume bilateral cricket relations with Pakistan. If Pakistan's performance and viewership continue to decline, it would be detrimental to international cricket.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Having your contractual perks snatched away, being dumped unceremoniously or being left to take care of your own injuries are also responsibilities the board is at fault for. How is money a justifiable exchange for ruining health career and future livelihood
