    Man sometimes I think what if we didn't have Pakistani UA-camrs, what would I even watch? So soothing to listen to you guys. Highly articulate, expressive, eloquent, amazing conversation skills, so much depth. Easily one of the best cricket podcasts to listen to.
    The only thing to complain about though is the fact that you record such a less number of them and the timing is not the most enjoyable but that's understandable as you may have hectic schedules.

    Usually adhoc administration runs affairs with short term vision in our type of culture.
    That's why we have been bit better in T20s in last 10-15 years as compared to longer format (tests) but as the T20 cricket is getting matured globally so developed countries are getting rewards of their better system with fair process of merit coupled with usage of modern science techniques including health, biomechanics, data analytics etc.

      YK quit cricket at his peak, had multiple run ins with players and the board, and was never a multi format star. Don’t think the analogy works.
      Secondly I think you can find a 1000 podcasts happy to blame players for everything. You won’t find us changing our approach just for those views. Any rational analysis of the players performance would take into account what conditions they are playing under. Lets move on from sports writing and analysis that is in denial about institutional issues affecting the game.

    • @Sohaib19874
      @Sohaib19874 3 місяці тому

      @@BattaFast totally get it don't want to turn it into a blame fest but saying Babar is not performing because board has not treated him well is a bit much. That way no player should ever be blamed for any performance ever. Also don't get the multi format star statement. So if you are a multi format star, you can be shitty for 16 innings and not get any blame. Also the multi format star had been bad across formats for over a year now. Would love to see some onus put on the player like 95 percent of the players had to face. Fawad alam was in icc team of the year 2022 and the rope for him was 4 innings. Babar who has been repeatedly called greatest batter of Pakistan on this show. Should not the expectation be higher from the 🐐. Or is he the only player in our history to have ever faced bad administration?

    • @BattaFast
      @BattaFast  3 місяці тому +1

      this podcast was not responsible for the Babar hype, and as I explained before you can find a lot of places where the players are being criticised to the nth degree. neither of us think he is flawless, but personally I am sick of all of our cricket analysis ignoring everyone but the players, hence we focus there. Pakistan has forever been an inconsistent side with huge variance, despite all kinds of players coming and going. At some point, addressing the structural issues has to start happening.

    Disclaimer: Long winded comment, hope you get to read it and consider my recommendation.
    I have criticized you guys in the past for trivial stuff but it amazes me how knowledgeable both of you are about cricket in general and your insightful information. Additionally, you are amazing at analyzing problems and breaking down the inherent issues with the PCB administration and their handling of certain situations. What I would love to hear from you guys is not only identifying a problem but also providing a solution to fix the problem. I understand that occasionally in between discussions on various topics, you provide your perspective on how you would do something differently, etc but not enough in my mind. My recommendation is that you pick two or three topics/issues per episodes and discuss alternatives to address those topics/issues.

    Aap logon ki baatein sunkar ek baat zaahir huyi hai... Cricket ek lauti cheez hai jo theek chal rahi hai India mein. Professional. Not many illogical/bureaucratic red tapes at higher levels. Casteism kam hi hua hai over the years, opportunities badhi bhi hain. Women's cricket.
    Par... Ab character nahin raha hai. Koshish hoti hai ek kahani gadhne ki, kuchh jingoism ke chalte, kuchh individual cricketers ke celebrity ke chalte. Par mazaa nahin hai. Mujhe toh Kohli bhi isiliye pasand hai ki apna ek value system ka vision toh diya hai Indian cricket ko. Baaki... Woh cricketer kam aur entrepreneur zyada hai. • @BattaFast
      @BattaFast  3 місяці тому +1

      Array yaar in F1 every team races every race. In cricket big three play twice as many tests as the others. Make every team play the same number of tests for an actual championship

    • @normalhuman6260
      @normalhuman6260 3 місяці тому

      @@BattaFast Bhai the number of test matches is decided by the individual boards, not by ICC. Boards can decide to play more tests but they don't prioritize it. Equal tests rule kar dete toh bola jata ki its unfair for smaller boards. Pakistan hi halla machata ki BCCI=ICC. So they have given the freedom to boards. If they don't want to play test matches then that is their boards fault not ICC.

    • @ST_117
      @ST_117 3 місяці тому

      @@BattaFastA couple of questions? Does every ICC limited-overs World Cup has every team playing each other? So how is that any less problematic than WTC? Also since you believe that WTC format is nonsensical, which teams should have made the last two WTC if the format was "right"?

    • @BattaFast
      @BattaFast  3 місяці тому

      LOL they haven't "given" freedom to anyone. The ICC, formerly Imperial Cricket Council, has ALWAYS been run unfairly, and previously was used to favor English cricket above all else. It has always been an instrument used by the dominant board of that time.

    • @BattaFast
      @BattaFast  3 місяці тому

      I'm going to reply to this in good faith. The WC example is quite obviously illogical, as the only teams which don't play each other are clearly are in separate groups. Every team in the same group DOES play each other. In the WTC, all teams are in the same league yet don't play the same number of games or each other. Find me a league that does that, because really no one does. And part of my frustration with the format is that we can't even say who should make it to the finals or deserved it or whatever because no one is being judged on an equal footing.

  • @ST_117
    @ST_117 3 місяці тому

    Btw if Pak decides to play Naseem, Shaheen, Hamza, Khurram Shahzad (and Ibrar/Noman Ali) in all 3 tests against Eng and don't make terrible captaincy errors like going without a spinner in that 1st Pindi test, they should be able to eke out a win in atleast one of the tests. Their batsman will get runs and if that attack is fully fit and remains constant for the series, it is talented enough to atleast win a test at home against Eng.

    • @ST_117
      @ST_117 3 місяці тому

And every international team barring obviously India has come to Pak to play tests and other matches in the last 4 year or so. So where has Pak lost out on by not playing bilaterals against India?!

      @@ST_117 Pakistan cricket's brand value minus bilateral series with India is not the same in terms of money fetched from broadcasting rights, ticket sales and fan engagement.
      Yes, Pak players are making money by playing marquee leagues across the world but that isn't the same as playing in IPL that has the best ecosystem in terms of coaching, mentoring, rubbing shoulders with the best, money and media exposure.
      Reason it is an astro-turf moment for Pak cricket is that minus the exposure to Indian cricketing market, Pak cricket is in survival mode since the 2009 terror attack on SL, terrorism, political instability and economic downturn and a bilateral series with India compensates the PCB for all of these negatives.
      Astro-turf here is a metaphor for new investments in terms of money, technology and best practices something which the PCB isn't able to do on scale as there's no engagement with the BCCI that generates the surpluses for them to make new investments.

      If only all recent chairmen had shown some pragmatism and tried to engage with BCCI diplomatically rather than the nonsense maverick attitude of "Asia Cup will happen here, CT will happen here, India will have to come" as if they had any leverage or BCCI had any remote interest.
      What's going on at the political level in Pakistan is a shame. But PCB for it's own interest should have explored every possibility of keeping sport and politics separate, by being engaging and collaborative rather than rubbing shoulders and big mouths. Find a way, through an intermediary like a tri-series, or an A-tour, women's cricket, whatever. Be forthcoming, bear the initial burdens, but somehow resume something. But no, big egos prevail.

      well said. Maybe people haven't checked the numbers for the broadcast deals for India series, but they are insanely high compared to the rest. And now, along with no bilaterals or IPL, Pakistan will likely struggle to host events as well, another huge revenue source. And as we have been at pains to explain, while the PSL is a revenue earner, the board seems intent on destroying it. So the situation is very much an existential crisis brought about by an institutional problem, much like astroturf

      Sure they could have tried that but Amit Shah's son running the board meant that there was never going to be too much success with diplomacy. Those attempts have failed in arenas beyond cricket too

    The Indian government should set aside ego and past incidents and allow the BCCI full freedom to resume bilateral cricket relations with Pakistan. If Pakistan's performance and viewership continue to decline, it would be detrimental to international cricket.

      @@manisshthakur621 Actually Pakistan's cricket wouldn't automatically improve by playing bilaterals against India. The issue with Pakistan cricket (unlike South African or Windies cricket) isn't money, it is how (poorly) they manage their cricket. Playing against India will just help PCB mint more money, nothing else

      Pakistan cricket has never been the epitome of professionalism but that doesn’t justify the international game being run in this way. Regardless of how the Pak board is run, if cricket is to be a serious sport it needs to have a functioning system. Find it very myopic to read comments which pretend the Indian board isn’t the problem.

    • @BattaFast
      @BattaFast  3 місяці тому

      I answered this elsewhere to you as well, but this claim re India bilaterals makes zero sense. Think everyone knows that India series fetch the highest broadcast money, and particularly India Pakistan games have historically had a higher cachet still. The money earned from those is used to provide better salaries, better facilities, better everything. Further, they also don't play against one of the best teams in the world, nor get a chance to play in Indian stadiums in the IPL or bilaterals, which is another disadvantage at ICC events. It is actually a huge sporting and financial disadvantage, and this is before we get into the fact that this is also by far the biggest sporting rivalry and leads to the greatest interest in the sport, which again leads to more money and investment. I hope this is patently clear now.

      Having your contractual perks snatched away, being dumped unceremoniously or being left to take care of your own injuries are also responsibilities the board is at fault for. How is money a justifiable exchange for ruining health career and future livelihood
