I love that you gave us a tutorial for Notes and surreptitiously (thanks, autocorrect!) instructed us on password security at the same time ! 😊

I use the Notes app every single day on my phone and MacBook and you definitely taught me a few new things with this video. Thank you very much!

I use NOTES often, but I learned multiple tips from this video that were helpful. Thank you! 😊

Thanks for that! I actually moved from OneNote to Apple Notes, and have been trying to get used to it. Glad you showed the shortcut for changing character colours...

This video showed up at just the right time. I have been using Notes more and more the last few months and needed some tips/new features to highlight the notes instead of having them appear exactly the same.
Using the keyboard shortcut will now save me time. I'm embarrassed to admit I was not using the shortcut at all.
By the way, I have noticed that the colors on my Mac do not always appear the same as the colors on my iPhone within Notes
Not sure if anybody else has experienced that issue.
Keep up the great work 👏🏽

Just to let you, Gary, and other people know : I'm using the darkmode interface (disability issue obligate me to do so) and in darkmode, the colors on MacOS are displaying differently than on iOS and iPadOS. Thus if you use a dark color, it will appear lighter and if you use a bright color, it will display darker on the "portable" devices. I've already informed Apple directly about this issue, I hope they figure out how to fix it in the future. But I prefer let people know, because it can be VERY frustrating. My notes (main application I use for anything and everything) doesn't look the same on all devices and if I want to make it highlighted and clear on MacOS, it will be difficult to have the same result on iOS/iPadOS devices. I don't know any way to make it better so far. But it only happens with darkmode enabled. The trick is that MacOS manages color brightness in regard of dark/lightmodes when iOS/iPadOS aren't. To be continued... And a BIG THANK to Gary, by the way, your videos are incredibly useful, wise and calm, it's a true goldmine for people like me. Thanks a lot ! ;)

You can set your iOS devices to dark mode as well. Then everything is consistent and colors will work. Gray color #808080 is in the middle of black and white, so might give you some highlight that works the same on both, even if it's not actually color. If you google for a "WCAG Color Contrast Checker" tool, you might be able to find some colors that work well enough on black and white backgrounds. Its very challenging to program this to function automatically, so don't wait for apple to come up with something soon. It's a challenging problem, and I have a similar issue with bright backgrounds, so good luck.

Absolutely useful. A tiny suggestion: After listening and also benefiting from your videos would like to suggest that you can split the videos into many so that they do not appear like cramming. Videos less than 8 minutes is appreciated but they cram too much useful information.

Great video, thank you. Question: is there any way to do a "proper" outline in Notes, like this:
    1. First Level
    A. Second Level
    1) Third Level
Note's built-in outline feature is moronic:
    1. First Level
    1. Second Level
    1. Third Level

@@macmost Thanks Gary I tried but couldn't find it; Where's the 'font colour', How do you change 'font size'? Is there a 'Favourites' in Notes on iPad?

      @macmost  Рік тому

@@mikebedford4362 I suppose those don't work, but you can bold, italics and underline.

Whilst you can view notes containing e.g. colour on your iPad or iPhone you cannot create notes with e.g. colour on your iPad or iPhone. Not that I have found. It’s a one way thing, unfortunately.
