- You join me for a late evening fishing until early morning (4.45 am) during June as I head out planning to see if I can pick up some bream on one of my two rods. It would seem that they would enjoy feeding on both!

Alive aliveoo......in the heart of nature......nice river bream...in the necessary diversity of life...
Cheers and hah yep, diversity is the spice of life!
Thanks Mark - some nice breams
Xheers mate they were !
Great bream, im with you I love all fish they are great, over the years I really have started to appreciate each fish
Totally agree they are a very welcome species in my opinion.
I love blasting through urban areas on my e bike with all my fishing tackle get some right funny looks
Haha yeh i mean i must say I do get some funny looks due to the fat tyres, but it has helped me a lot having an ebike.
Breaming beautiful Mark. Some right bootiful slabs!
Thanks mate! Hope the Severns treating you well!
Fantastic one of my favourite species especially from a river very nice to see them.
Mine too! Shame not everyone enjoys them.
Thanks Mark.
Very welcome and thanks for watching!
Lol when I saw that first cast I knew you would look at the camera 🤣🤣🤣 nice job mark.
lmao yeh it was too good to be true haha.
Lovely slabs 👏👏👏
Thank you James!
Nice set of Bream their Mark, well done!
Thank you kindly David!
Lovely river abramhases mate well in! Good angling
Thank ye kindly Fred!
Love it Mark - take care mate
Thanks John :)
Great vid!
Cheers mate!
Totally agree with you about anglers being 'pissed off' when they catch fish they're not after, I've seen anglers moaning about catching double figure bream, large tench and even 2lb plus roach, it's totally beyond me, I don't understand why they go fishing
Clive I honestly hate hearing certain anglers moan about other species, it's as if they have sucked all the enjoyment out of their own fishing and wish to do the same to whoever they speak to!
Love the videos. I do wish you'd let us know the weight of thesee monster Chub you catch tho
Another Top video Mark and well said I enjoy catching all Species !!
Unfortunately Carp is king today which I still fish for!!
The funny thing is I caught my biggest Bream while carp fishing at just over 12 an half pounds which had a huge frame !! Keep them vids coming 👌
My original pb bream was also caught while carping, but I did break my pb this season on the river.
Nice one buddy …. What a bunch of cracking Bream !!!!
Slabba-dabba-doo !!!!!! Amazing and well done Mark !!!!!!! 👍👍👍👍🎣🎣🎣🎣🎣😁😁😁😁
Cheers John it was nice to catch a few!
proper lumps them bud nice session
Cheers George!
Very good Mark, I agree with you a fish is a fish they all should be respected no matter what you catch, it's better than a blank, Thank you👍👍
Absolutely James!
Great video Mark, impressive session and fully agree having actively caught Bream in lakes and rivers there is little comparison. I had a great session on the Kennet last year on light tackle with Bream from 5 to 9lb. In fact my first river session this year was a 6lb Bream, never a disappointment for me.
Cheers Mark and I must agree, they are a joy to catch!
Well done. A big bream is always both a challenge and reward
Thank you Jon!
Nice to see bin lids on the bank another great video 👍 mate.
Cheers Paul was nice to get a few!
Fabulous fishing Mark. Thanks for sharing your trip! Were you watching the tip with a torch for bites? All the best mate!
I was yes and using isotopes!
That first cast👏🏻 another very enjoyable video, always a bonus to the day when I get a notification you have uploaded,I personally love a nice river bream!
Yes it was lucky as i am not too good from that angle usually lol. Cheers mate!
Cracking fish. I accidentally caught some large bream earlier this year while roach fishing into dark on the Thames and I was very happy to see them. Went back the next week and caught some more. The roach disappear from the stretch I fish in early October but you’ve got me wondering if the bream might still be around
Cheers Richard and I reckon you should return for another crack at the bream.
We’re fishing not carping fish are fish all can give you joy 😊
yes! This!
Great video mark some cracking slabs there 👏 👍
Thanks 👍 Louis i do like a nice slab!
Hello Mark beautiful specimen hunting, big and beautiful "slab" breams!!! see you soon!
Merci Eric, some much needed rain now!
Really enjoyed joining you on your bream trip, great result Mark.
Thank you Stephen!
Big bream are really impressive fish, as you say a much maligned species. and bollocks to all those 'anglers' who think that. Thanks Mark, another great memory for you no doubt.
Here here! Thanks for watching too mate!
Think I'm in a minority as I love bream. Get them going and it's action all day long.
A big 1 on light tackle can deffo still be a lot of fun, if you don’t mind all the snot.
Agree with you both. Unfortunately i miscalculated how much groundbait they went through so the action did taper off.
Beautiful blue and green features get in
Like your good self Mark I'm a river angler at heart and enjoy all species . I took my 5 yr old son fishing recently and he caught a near on 2lb perch on a 3m whip ... it felt way better watching him land it then any 20lb carp !! Good video , enjoyable as always 👍
Well said!
Nice video Mark! Great Attitude.👍
Thank you John!
Some anglers have such a blinkered approach to fishing. How boring must it be to just fish for a single species day in day out? Thats why I enjoy your channel so much. Excellent video and some cracking bream. Well done!
Couldn't agree more mate, I do not see the point in shoe horning yourself to one species only, even though we all have our favourites depending what mood we are in at the time.
I am a carp angler, but love anything that I catch! I have spent a couple of months on a lake where it's rumoured contain a few carp. So far one 12lb bream and I am still stoked! Maybe next year I will catch a carp! :) I loved the video! I miss river fishing!
That is awesome Matthew and i think fishing for the unknown or lower stocked is very appealing.
love feeder fishing for big bream on a quiver tip in a flowing river they give ya a good fight of course if your carping on a 3.5tc rod there not going to put as much of a fight
I think what he's on about is the attitudes some have towards bream. Me I like a nice lower Severn Bream!
@@peachycreations8787 yeah i get that but most of the attitude towards bream come from carp anglers
True but they do not need to bring it to a river bank, I have had some absolutely horrible comments from people this season insisting that they'd kill them, said people should not be fishing.
@@francolinobasco i have had the same river fishing when they catch a eel and even go get there pen knife to cut its head off and i have stepped in unhooked it and put it back and this was 10 yrs ago im like you respect them all the same don't like catching eels but il always try care for them
@@francolinobasco i fished a council lake while ago now turned up and 4 big bream around 8lbs each and a 3lb eel was chucked in the reeds absolutely disgusting why go fishing?
Great video as usual Mark. I am after a heavy duty catapult but didn’t catch the name of it. I got the Valley Express bit but couldn’t hear the first part of the name. I would be very grateful if you could post a link or give the full name so I can make my enquiries. Kind Regards.
Hello Neil I think it was Ali express.
i totally agree with you mark how can any one moan about bream of that size i bet more big carp are caught these days than really big bream .i don,t get how any angler can bemoan large bream..roach dace even big perch ,i like to see gudgion and they are becoming rare captures .dace are great to catch .its a bit like top chefs only eating goat curry, im with you wild fish natural venues ..real wild life at its best ,but mark who are the real losers curry goat every day ,,no thanks ,brilliant catch mark 10 out of 10..tight lines..
Totally Stephen , problem is that I do think some anglers have forgotten just how special it is to be out fishing and enjoying everything and that includes every species, I also think social media is partly a little bit at fault for that as well mate.
Bream fight so little, the first one I ever caught I thought i'd killed it because it wasn't moving.
Lol, depends really i would say most river bream fight a lot better than stillwater bream.
@@francolinobasco that isnt saying a great deal
Wow, you've done it again Mark, great session (although I know what I'm doing at that time of night and it's not fishing lol). Do you find the torch light on the water a problem in terms of getting the next fish - do you have to wait for them to settle down again?
Thanks Frank, the light side is a bit of a gambled risk in order to bring video footage, sometimes it does hurt the situation and other times not.
Another great video & very nice to someone fishing for river bream. I've only had small bream in the Kennett, but i'm interested to know what size you think they go to in this river.
A few years ago I caught quite a few bream to over 8lb whilst barbel fishing with boilies on the Kennet, Lower and Upper Benyons, don't see why they're not still there
Thanks Andrew, I have actually broken my personal best bream this season on the Kennet (video to come) with a nice double .I am also certain that a fish of 13 or 14lb is very doable.
They are certainly still around on both those sections and the lower sections.
Any advice for river carp pal? never had one, few people have warned me off the river lol, other carp anglers or bells! I fished for them only half dozen times properly,no luck, have tried boilies, chod rig, lead normal set up, never had one, had one bream, and tench, I feel I'm close, talk is cheap, fellow anglers and the association so negtive, like warning me against it, waste of time, they spooky fish lol, any tips would be good, I have some carp experience from kid, I did go flat out pre baiting tigers, boilies, dog vitialin hemp etc, just expensive 100 quid hooked a big tench within 5 mins of returning to prebaited swim and spook ed swim. I know talk is cheap, will target new season
Mark, can you put a link to the catapult please
I can try and find it Mike hang on.
I'm just grabbing a shower and I will be right with you!!😉😉😂🤣😂🤣
haha! Leave the rubber duck alone lol.
@@francolinobasco right... Tea or coffee?
@@_-Spoons-_ hmmm a nice cup of rosy!
Great video mark thank you 👍🏻
Are you full time angler. You seem to go fishing daily
I bloody wish Sam. I certainly do not fish daily and I'm not sure how you've come to that assumption 😂. For example right now I've not fished for at least 2 weeks.
You catch the best fish. You must be putting serious time on the bank. Not fished over a year. House renovation.
@@a5amr2 to catch good fish you don't need to put serious time on the bank, understanding and thorough application outweigh time. I'll see your house renovation and raise you, by losing a father to covid induced dementia by a hospital whose report admits they didn't keep patients and infected machines separate or clean. happy memories we will never be able to share together again because he's now a drugged up cabbage in a care home and has to be hosted in and out of bed as now bed ridden due to injury. I also help share in the caring duties for my nearly 60 year old brother, the days I go fishing are the days my mum takes the brunt of looking after him. Hope this some what quantifies my life to you!
The very best of fishing are my memories of bream and presented by someone who always brings a smile , good job Mark and well done ,..one day I wish we could share a session on the Norfolk broads with you ,..thanks for sharing ?
Thank you so much John! I would not say no to a Norfolk broads trip!
@@francolinobasco good man ,.I will be intouch
