Don't forget Jonathan Edwards' triple jump record hits 30 years old in 2025, and Javier Sotomayor's high jump record is 32 years old in 2025. Can't see them being broken in the near future either.
Thought Barshim in '14 would go on to break that special 2.45m HJ WR & thought for a min back in '21 that JuVaughn Harrison (HJ), Juan Miguel Echevarría (LJ) & Johannes Vetter (JAV) would go on to get as close as possible if not break those WRs, but wasn't to be :( If they stay healthy, Diaz Fortun, Pichardo & Hibbert can push each other to the TJ WR! Would be great for CAN if Katzberg & Rogers go on to break the respective M&W's Hammer WRs.
Love to watch Mondo but it's a testament to Bubka's greatness (considering equipment advances) that the WR is only 12cm higher than he was jumping 30 years ago.
Thewbelle Phlip, a 16yo Australian part indigenous is running the first 40m as quick as any female ever has. She ran an 11.38 100m with lactic acid clogging her legs for the last 40 meters. She's 7.00 or close to already for her first 60m. Being coined as a Pocket Rocket, barely taller than 5 feet.
Which records will be the toughest to break? Female records during the doping era obviously. Especially female records during the doping era with a broken wind gauge. What Elaine Thompson did at 2021 pre- classic with 10.54 100m one of the greatest athletic performances of all time. Certainly the true world record
Men's HJ & LJ and so many Female WRs (100/200/400/800m, SP, DISC & Outdoor 3K WRs) for sure as is the Women's PV & HEP WRs due to Isinbayeva & JJK's brilliance as athletes! Would be great if Kipyegon, Chebet & Tsegay went after that 3K WR & if '25 is Shelly's last season in the sport, would be great if she also went after the 6.92 60m WR in the indoor season 🤞
I'd be surprised if Katzburg doesn't break the hammer throw WR. He's 22, very raw and arguably underweight for his frame. I wouldn't be surprised if mens high jump record lasts another 10 years or more. Barshim seemed to have the best chance and he is past prime, and Sotomayor's record is arguably the closest to the theoretical human limit and even he scraped the bar on his 2.45 WR.

The women’s 800 record is not impressive unless you think she didn’t take drugs? Hodgkinson has been brave enough to say it’s reachable although she is over a second off it. This should excite everyone as this is now her goal and she usually delivers and doesn’t usually make such bold statements.
No WR's for her i am afraid, but she might hit 10.5 at the 100 meters and about 21.5 at the 200 meters. The reason that i don't think that she will break the 60 WR is becuase she is more focusing on the summer season thus training hard for that in stead.

Also, if you do consider pursuing this suggestion, please entitle your vids appropriately as I believe you will actually get more views and likes if you were to do that.....anyway, just as you briefly touched on this idea in this vid, you should consider previewing the upcoming 2025 indoor season with a series of vids on what records have the most likelihood of being broken and by whom much like what you did here for the 60M women's dash.....of course, there will be easy ones to point out like Duplantis the never ending WR breaker, but then their are others that might not be as well known until you dig into the history and their stats like this Alfred woman......Anyway, if you were to do that I think that would get more people to watch and create some interest in the upcoming season......kind regards. oh and as far as Alfred, yes I think she does have a legit chance of breaking the WR......good luck to her......
Right so Flo Jo's WR. Her PB in '87 was 10.96 and all of a sudden in '88 she gets down to 10.49? No chance. Tell me who else takes almost half a second off their time in 1 year. Your body can't change so drastically in 1 year that you find that much time, this isn't the MCU. It heavily points to a combination of PED and wind aid, but it's never been retracted so it has stood for bloody 36 years. The only one who can feasibility beat it legally atm is Elaine but she'd need top form and all the wind she can get
Right?? And there are people who just refused to know the truth... I just happened to listen to Flo's interview with the BBC in 1984 where her audible 'LIGHT register' range is cute and apparent... Then 1988 (the year she got that record), boy, not only you see her demeanor changes but all that lightedness her voice's gone, replacing with a "manly" undertone. In other words, DOPED UP.

While Flo Jo took 0.47 off in one year. I guess Shelly had PEDs in her system too right? Since her body couldn’t have changed that much in one year.
@@kc5466Tbh I didn't even know Shelly found that much time till you said it so thanks for that. I did a little digging because I was curious and the 11.31 was at the Jamaica national championships as she barely ran outside of Jamaica until her olympic year. On this same day Asafa Powell ran 10.04 with a 1.0 tailwind (same as the women) which is quite slow for him considering he was in 9.7 shape. This leads me to believe the Jamaica track was quite slow around this time as we know not all tracks are the same and Asafa ran 9.74 in Italy not too long after this, so I'm taking the 0.53 improvement with a pinch of salt.
