That wouldn’t be a good design because it makes having multiple columns of peashooters instantly pointless as they can’t all benefit from the icewood’s effect. This is the same issue with the ice peashooter versus the fire peashooter, where the fire peashooter is way stronger because it can benefit from having multiple columns down on the lawn while you can only slow zombies once with the ice peas so after they’re slowed you’re doing the normal damage of a peashooter. In other words, having 1 column of ice peashooters and then another column of normal peashooters isn’t much different than having 2 columns of ice peashooters. On the other hand, having 2 columns of fire peashooters is significantly stronger than 1 column of fire peashooters and 1 column of normal peashooters.
