I've been there twice, and have never been disappointed!
I miss the Wichita Mountains. It's nice to know some places remain unchanged by the passing decades. Great video.
This is easily one of my favourite places in Oklahoma, after Chickasaw NRA!!
Seeing the potential birds in the region has really got me excited. Going there later this spring to go birding and hiking. This video got me hyped to go
My favorite UA-cam channel, you guys are amazing, always is something new to learn, have a good time, regards from Costa Rica!
Thanks so much! Regards from Wisconsin!
Always learn something new when watching your video's. Happy birding 🦅
Thanks! You too! :)
Great birds and great footage! I will have to head to that park next summer - it's not too far from Colorado. I enjoyed your Audubon presentation last week, BTW.
Thanks, Kevin! Much appreciated!
Such a educational wholesome channel. Would love to know your backgrounds as it's rare for the younger generations to be interested in birds.. keep up the great work xx
Thanks so much for watching and for the comments, Lisa! Our grandfather was always into feeding the birds and that kind of started our interest. We watched “The Big Year” and that really got us going even further and we were hooked ever since :)
I live in the southwest Oklahoma. It's always windy here.
Here in Oregon we get a Bewick‘s wrens. I see them regularly in my yard.
It seems like everytime you guys put out another video, it's a family event for us to watch. "Get in here everybody. Ryan and Derek have another video out!". Funny but true. Love your videos. We love the Wichita Mountains and make it down there about every five years. We were just down there last year but now we'll probably go back down sooner hoping to see the Black-capped vireo. What a cool bird and great videos of its too. Thanks for the video.
Haha that’s awesome! Thanks so much for watching!
another great video, really enjoy them. keep up the good work guys.
Thanks, Todd! Will do! :)
“On today’s episode of tarantula rescue!” And “On today’s episode of turtle rescue!” 😂😂😂
honey wake up, new badgerland birding video
great birding trip guys ,keep it up ,you are the best
Thanks! And thanks for watching!
Hey guys! I noticed in the bill of the White-eyed Vireo he had very small twigs and grass, like he was taking it to the Mrs to build a nest!!😊
This was such a cool video!! I live in Texas but I've never been to Wichita Mtn Wildlife Refuge. I will have to plan a trip soon! Thanks for a amazing & fun video!!
Good catch! They were definitely nesting in that location!
👍🏻👍🏻😃
:)
This place looks fantastic! I'm on a quest to see 100 birds in each of the Lower 48 states, and still need to fill my my Oklahoma list (n=11). What time of year were you there? Assuming spring/early summer.
Male black-capped vireos look like they're about to rob a bank.
Maybe they are 😳
Wait a minute! Is that Derek doing a little Marty Stouffer introduction tribute at the beginning of the video; like, is that a thing I never caught until now? That's great if intentional or not. Just Sane
Haha, not that we're aware of. Send us a clip of what you're referring to, haha
Very cool! When my dad was a kid in the late 30’s early 40’s, his family lived in a house in an area that was in what is now part of the wildlife refuge! Just starting in bird watching. Does anyone have a recommendation for a book ? I live in the north central area of Texas . Love your videos!
That's awesome! Thanks so much for watching and for the comments! We have really enjoyed the "Stokes" Guide but I know a lot of person like Sibley's. www.amazon.com/Stokes-Field-Guide-America-Guides/dp/0316010502/ref=asc_df_0316010502?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80401843598257&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584001419053553&psc=1
@@BadgerlandBirding Thanks so much for the reply and recommendation! I’ll certainly check that one out! Will try to get on your upcoming live UA-cam session.
What's wrong with you? You were close to a BISON, a huge wild animal that could crush you without a thought. You should have been taking selfies as close as possible to it, maybe even provoking it so that it would charge you. Now THAT's how you make some viewers to your channel!! Honestly how can you be so radically intelligent and sensible on UA-cam? :)) And also, thanks for all the great shots of birds, spiders, and turtles. You are awesome.
Lol we’ll call it a business decision
If you don't mind me asking, what camera do you guys use for video? Thanks!
Sure! For most videos we use the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-80. It's a versatile superzoom camera that's very user friendly. We used to use the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ-70 which had better audio quality but the FZ-80 has better video quality.
@@BadgerlandBirding Thank you! Love the videos!
@@randyadventure Thanks! Thanks for watching!
How do you separate juveniles from Bell's Vireo?
Juvenile what?
