- Living on my Narrowboat, I enjoy relaxing moments of peacefulness in nature. Waking up early on a foggy mystical morning, I tune into the beautiful orchestral sound of birds, 'The Dawn Chorus'. I take a walk into the woodland next to the canal as we observe nature close up. The winter plants on my narrowboat have died back, so its time for a little bit of gardening and a bit of cleansing. We get close up to my feathered friends.
The Journey started here... I once lived in the fast lane of life, happily married of 26 years, with two children. That chapter was suddenly shattered by the sudden loss of my wife to cancer, which led me in to depression and homelessness. Waking up in hospital, after attempting to take my own life, with just a suitcase, kayak and bicycle and no money, I've managed to rise up out of the darkness and find happiness and continue my next chapter.
I'm a self taught film maker, and creating these vlogs, it gives me something to do, share my personal experiences as I continue my journey cruising and living life on the canal. Please do consider supporting my channel below... Thank you Dave

stunning close up shots. love the trees ths time of year. i moved onboard a narrowboat a month ago and ive moved several times already, the other day i cruised in the monring through the misty oxfordshire countryside, it was spectacular.

Lovely. I sailed a lot as a youngster. I find that nature has a similar effect upon us. The MSM would have us believe we are really important and the whole world needs to know what we think and that the planet couldn’t manage without us. But it can. And it should because we are only a small part of the wider picture. I love your vlogs……puts life back in perspective.

Gorgeous. The birds singing in the trees. And the cooler weather. Dream of it. I've notice in all your videos nobody waves or say hi when they gloat past on their boats. Is that normal there?
I've just not filmed them waving! The boating community is very friendly, and we do wave and chat. There's videos where you see us wave but can't remember which episodes. We wave out our windows at passing boats. That boater on ep90 did wave, but the clip was not used. Thank you for watching and commenting 🙏 Dave

You've a great eye for observation, and the cameras you used did an amazing job of capturing the birds. The detail was stunning. I'm guessing they're no Go-Pro 😅 (I couldn't catch that detail with mine, thats for sure!)
