I'm in love with the series, so much so that it became one of my favorites because it portrays problems that I have and that many other teenagers go through. I go through a period of time now where I automatically stop eating as much. To anyone reading this, know that if you're going through something you aren't alone.

I honestly was very disappointed that - in the hour long film “Pure” that followed Cassie later in life - reached a sense of conclusion, her issues resolved insofar that it circled back to her image, validating her ED in a sense by making her into a model, so that her life & identity were consumed yet again by her appearance & body. I didn’t like that whatsoever. It seemed like she was beginning to find an identity otherwise, but then it went right back to identity = appearance & value = beauty. I can’t express enough what a bad taste that put in my mouth, for all of us girls who felt like Cassie & struggle with EDs, most of us don’t get such external validation or at least not to such a degree as being scouted as a model. It didn’t show growth in her life but instead a return to image being of upmost importance, the means of validation, as she became the object of desire & her image the reason to desire her. I wonder if anyone else was as disappointed as I was…
