The Mould King UCS, razor crest, a pretty good deal if you are absolutely desperate for a razor crest, but don’t want to Pay Legos absolutely garbage price.
@@dariodavis56 Yep, I buy from Herotoyz all the time. Just be aware that the knock off sets of this have incorrect Kuiil minifigures. At some point a minifigure manufacturer will step in and have a good one for sale, but for now they are not good.
Just got the Mould King one (with the original MOC designer‘s „Jerac“ instructions. And Mould Kind updated the set (at least the ones from Amazon Europe): They now include pieces for a clear windshield so that you can look into the cockpit and take it of (a little) easier. Black pieces are still included, so you can decide as you build. And make sure to use the little hammer Mould King includes. Makes the model come together a lot better and the different parts of the ship fit perfectly. It‘s still a rather challenging build. But if you‘re like me and this is exactly what you looking for go for it. I got a little tired of Lego‘s „3 bricks per page“ trend😅 Happy building!
The Mould King Razor Crest is a very poor knock-off of Jerac's MOC - plans are available through Brick Vault. For most people wanting a large Razor Crest, I'd suggest going with the LEGO UCS version - It's a simpler build overall.... though if Built properly, Jerac's is great too!
Came here to say this. I bought the Mould King set, then all the pieces needed to restore it to Jerac's original design and it's a HUGE improvement. The other part of this review I question is whether the criticisms would be so harsh if the design was built with genuine Lego pieces instead. Much of my frustration in building the MK set came down to piece quality. While KO bricks have gotten much better in recent years, these MOC designs are so much more fragile than TLG standards - and need genuine Lego pieces to work as a result.
@@peervanasten7100 People "don't buy Lepin" because Lepin is dead for longer (2019) than Mandalorian exists as a show. And people normally don't bother with Mould King's weird iterations (brick quality is very good but their designs are hit and miss) if there are better alt-bricks options...and for Razor Crest there is a 1:1 UCS knockoff by Jiestar (a good company in general), 1:1 knockoff of the smaller Lego one by LionKing and probably the most unique and interesting - semi-UCS Razor Crest by Mork (032002) with their own take on the design (differetn cockpit etc.). I rarely see people actually buying Razor Crest from Mould King unless they were baited by overpriced Temu/Aliexpress offers.
@@RogueBagelI’m about to do the same thing, except have pre bought all of the Lego pieces to bring the MK up to exactly the same as the brickvault instructions before I’ve even started. (Won’t even look at MK instructions). You think there will be issues with the gobricks brick quality? I’ve heard they are snappier and thus have stronger connections than normal Lego and thus not an issue for display models.
Link in your description show the razer crest with the clear windshield and not all black bricks, did they make an update ? Or did they just use stock images from Lego ucs? Thanks
I just got the Mould Kind Model a few weeks ago and they now seem to include an extra bag in the Box containing parts for a clear windshield. It‘s even printed. Pretty cool update from Mould King I think :)
The Mouldking looks like a MOC design from before the UCS Razor Crest was released. To prevent the copyright issue off-brands can't do a 1:1 copy of the LEGO designs anymore, so they steal MOC designs and put them into production. So now they're not ripping off LEGO anymore, but the AFOLs. That's what you're supporting by buying these off-brand models.
You are right. This Mould King product is an illegal copy of a MOC design on BrickVault by Jarostaw "Jerac" Ksiazezyk. The reason for the blacked out canopy is because his design uses original Lego parts including the printed canopy from 75292. I just built the MOC using original Lego parts, and it looks MUCH better due to better quality parts.
@@CaptainGrat75MK stealing MOC designs from respected builders in the community, and selling them for profit (without making the original designer aware, crediting them, or getting permission from them) seems ethically questionable.
@@SevenStarBricks I'm currently gathering the pieces for Jerac's build. In the videos I've seen of it, it looks much more solidly built and structurally sound than what you showed here. Looking closely here, I do notice a few small design differences. For Jerac's build, there is an option to use the cockpit screen from the original Lego playset as opposed to the black brick built out version. Actually the option to build it is secondary if you don't want to spend money acquiring that unique piece. But this is a good scale comparison between Jerac's design and the UCS set. That's what I was really interested in seeing. The side by side. Good video.
Thanks for the video. Did you have any problems with the instruction on the mould king? I had it once and the a few points in the instructions were completely unclear as to what to do . I think there was one step where you complete a very long piece then have to slide it through the length of the ship sideways?? Ring a bell?

I think the better option is to get a copy of the UCS set for cheaper. herotoyz.com/product/star-wars-mandalorian-razor-crest-75331-ucs-king-5331/

To be honest just go model king. It's an excellent price and a pretty cool model and if you want to make some adjustments you can

The original design was by him, yes. MK always changes some things when they "borrow" the designs, and it's always worse.
