One quickly learns the difference between "last time" and "one more time."
alectricity _ in my band they mean the exact same thing
Wait, is last time actually true? I've only heard "one more time" I've been marching nonstop for the past 2 years please help
WimpyWater _ in my band it ain’t
They mean 10 more times both of them
"last time" what i actually mean is 5 more times until you all don't mess up within that time frame
The 'when the band bus pulls into a McDonalds' one got me
In our band it's a wafflehouse.
Burger King I’m pretty sure they have warning signs when we come
Nah. Buc-ees is where it's at for us💖💖💖
Samantha waite Our band buses don’t even pull up at a restaurant. They park at a mall’s food court because we have so many people in our marching band that fitting everyone in a restaurant would be next to impossible.
‘when the band bus pulls up into McDonald's’ ITS A STAMPEDE
A little note about the second vine...
A few years ago, my current high school’s marching band went to Orlando, Florida (we’re in Kansas). The director went with a few of the kids to some place, and the people working asked if he was their father. Now we all refer to our director as Dad, and it’s hilarious.
We call my band director Father Egg because he's bald and he excepts it
My band is going to Orlando next year ac k
My BD once made a joke about being my mom after carrying a bag for me and now it's just a thing, I call her mom all the time
@@alex_the_lesbian_goddess6272 what a beautiful name
Directors last name is Hebda and he was nicknamed Hebdaddy...enough said
I broke at the Color Guard one because my friend who hates makeup looks like that everytime we have an event
Her: *I can’t wait to go home*
Me: PFFFFT
Ariana Cochran ok I’m the only one that doesn’t do makeup for Guard events because everybody on the Guard understands that there are some thing this boy (me) ain’t willing to do
Our end of band camp “party” is the entire tuba and baritone sections going to Burger King and doing the “Ultimate Nugget Race” which is where you try to eat a hundred nuggets the fastest. If you vomit your out of the running, this happens in the back parking lot of our school which is conveniently right next to a hospital. Everyone else tends to place bets. no one is excluded from the race you just have to buy your own nuggets and the Tubas started as a small tradition which grew. It gets insane sometimes. It’s been going on for seven years
I would never do that lol
vegetarians rise
Navi my school got a snow cone truck and a fire truck to come spray water on us
Navi Of course the tuba section started it
My band has a water balloon fight and we all team up on our band director.
The last time our band tried marching during a bit of snow, 3 of the clarinets twisted their ankles (including me), and someone from the drums broke their foot cause they dropped their drum on their foot (because "their hands were too cold" No duh. It was like 18°F that day). We learned our lesson that day to never march in snow. Ever.
I’m happy for another part but depressed because marching season is over
• Błàkè • I feel this I miss marching season so much
That's why u join a winter percussion program
Audition for DCI
There’s never been a more relatable mood
One one hand: *I DONT HAVE TO WAKE UP EARLY AND EXERCISE WOOOO*
On the other: But parades are so fun.....
(It’s a weird feeling)
😞
When are we gonna get a marching in the rain vine?
It's probably about the same as the 'Marching in the mud' vine used in this video ( 0:44 )
@@TheNathannator its more like snow imo, the rain freezes on gloves when it hits mid october.
I'm waiting for one of those band people like me who know what marching in the outer rings of a hurricane feel like.
YES
@@nicholas7309 you right that is the worst.
it gets more and more accurate with every part
Top 10 most hyped sequels
Here's some info about my band: We have zero trombones. So my band director writes out the parts for the only tenor sax player and me, the only mello player. The tenor sax guy and I created our own section of misfit instruments.
omg same, i play tenor sax... except we don't have a mello player so im literally switching parts every 2 seconds, it's great.
Just realized my 3 years late lmao
Honestly, seeing the finalists bands is scary. My band made it to state this year, and it was a whole other level of marching band
my band came in 12th, it was so sad, im really proud of you and your band!! Keep up the good work sis
@@lindabean4479 ours came in 39th 😂😂
@@yytoshi you have more than 39 places at state?
@@TicalaKing yeah, they picked one band from every state except for a few so in total, there was around 45
Our band didn’t make it to state this year either, but we got 11th at BOA super regional championship. Semi state was a huge let down for us , and most people get really emotional when we mention it .
COLORGUARD WASN’T REPRESENTED BY THE PATRICIA VINE AND I AM LIVING
That's 'cause she already did that!
Can you do a Jazz band as vines?
God, being in jazz band was a mistake. There are so many things i cant un-see
oh good god ur right. i gotta start jazz Choir as vines that shit WACK
Jazz band sucks!!! (I'm a clarinet, that should explain things)
Possibly maybe Orchestra too?
Ya like jazz?
**Make a clean one so I can show one to my Music Teacher**
Do you know what’s kind of funny I’m preparing for a parade right now we’re stepping off in like 20 minutes
Alex Dowie good luck!
Thanks
Alex Dowie have fun!
How did it go, my guy?
shiba it went well we did good and now I’m sore from carrying my bari sax
Band Bus is so accurate
all you're missing is the drumline smacking their pads
I'm in the percussion not drumline(7th grade) and yet this still seems Accurate
Same! Except I’m in 8th grade
You shall fully understand once you reach high school, this video is unbelievably accurate
@@kileycarpenter4530 same is not a full sentence, also I would say that I am in THE 8th grade not I'm in 8th grade
P.s. if you don't get the joke visit r/woosh
Actually, “Same” is a sentence fragment, which is perfectly acceptable in this type of setting. He’s not writing a freakin’ essay for his ELA class. Also, if you’re going to correct other people’s grammar, at least learn some capitalization and punctuation.
Percussion is amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one understands us... 😢
0:27 my friends in drum line had that happen at least twice our first year. His symbols also had a tendency to invert and warp, and it was quite funny to hear a pop and a crash and know that they had broken again
Well it never snows in Georgia so I never have to worry about that 👌
Daniel Johnson trust me it’s worse in Mississippi
What are y'all talking about Texas is the worse
@@Ash.Music.Covers yea especially in band camp
Daniel Johnson humidity
Ay! Georgia gang!
Kelsie Arville
I haattte omg 😂
1A VS. 6A BANDS
MEEEEEE
Dude... also the drum line killed me 😂
The accuracy is real and it’s giving me flashbacks
As a percussionist, watching that one kid with the cymbal falling off the strap. I know that pain
2:37
super relatable. I'm in a 2A high school.
I’m from FL and so it’s hot all season round!
(Save me 😖Lol)
this is band LITERALLY EVERY DAY!!! lol... wut instruments do u guys play? I play trombone, and Im happy to be a brass... please like this...
I play marimba. Used to be vibraphone, but director needed a strong player on marimba because vibe book was way easy. Then he ditched, along with all the other directors. Our new ones are way good.
I voted for concert band because I've never been in any other type of band but I still laugh at the vines cuz why not❤
just a lonely BONE as a fellow trombone player, i will say that you are missing out. trust me.
@@joltoro5029 I'm just not in high school yet.
0:25 this actually happened at my first game.
We need vines just for us drumline people, because we’re just that special. Also #cantrelate to the marching in the snow cuz I march in Florida babyyyyyyyy.
I'm not even genuinely part of band (I'm part of flagline we do everything with band but play instruments) and this had me wheezing because I have witnessed all of this
2:52 is this really true. Idk cause we always make it to finals everytime in first or second
2:00
Even though I haven't marched in snow, that's basically my reaction marching in 100+ degree heat, which has happened
The "When someone says Marching band isn't a sport" one got me because that's how I am with my friends when they say that 😂
2:03 Hahahaha jokes on you!! I live in Mississippi!!! We don’t get snow!!! Ahahahhahahahahaha!!!
i do choir. what the heck am i doing here.
it's so funny though
You are watching this because you know you're missing out with the fun! Lol jk. I sing on my own time.
You’re getting a look-through vines-at what us band kids go through and know all too well, and I appreciate you for that. Thank you.
Katie fox out here doing the Lord's work
The band bus vine was actually my bus, bus 2 at my school is where the weird kids go, blasting music and cry about their reeds being broken
Loved seeing your band in Indianapolis!
I’m a string player why am I watching this
Gloriana Maendel no it’s “I’d that a trumpet?”
same
Because you know you should be a brass player.
No, you should be a woodwind... 😂😑
I'm both strings And woodwind
As a member of a 6A band I’ve got to say that the dexter vine holds the truth. Man I mean no disrespect to the the 1A bands out there, you guys are awesome. But us 6A kids wipe the floor
Thorin Son of Thrain 5A can do the same. My 5A band beat 2 6A bands and won Grand Championship at the Mcneese State University 2018 Gulf Coast Marching Invitational
I'm in a 3a band and I remember at a competition we were watching the 6a band and we basically all shit ourselves.
3:02 is my life
The stand tunes one bro
*AGGRESSIVELY REMEMBERS AFRICA BY TOTO IS A STAND TUNE FOR OUR SCHOOL*
*aaaaaAAAAAAHHHHH*
0:19
As a trumpet player who can't play high notes and having first trumpet on everything (especially in super fast music) I can confirm.
I actually played a high note 100% correctly once and I was so happy.... But SOMEBODY made a mistake, and we had to redo the piece AGAIN and I got it wrong.
I was so angry and sad.
As a piccolo player, I can attest to the truth of 0:12 lol XD
2:15
Because my orchestra is so small, we had the option of going to Chipotle, and honestly, it was amazing :)
OH MY GOD 0:45 IS SO TRUE!! My last competition I nearly did the splits trying to stab and halt because the field was wet and it was NOT fun
The color guard one really got me😂😂
It's so true! Especially when the band director says "One more time" and then we keep repeating it over and over again. I can relate to that because I was in band last year and all of middle school years.
2:26 I am a percussionist, but play bass guitar in our jazz band
I had one kid ask me when it was in it’s case “is that an oboe" he was dead serious
I love the fact that most of the comment section has probably been at a competition with each other , and never realized it ,
LMAO that second one had me. we call the drum major “drum major daddy” and we started chanting it when we did a run of pregame for the families who visited at band camp, and he was like “GUYS UR PARENTS ARE RIGHT THERE”
The band bus one is very accurate. 😂
That one about seeing finalist bands is dead on 😂 going to grand nats and watching them feels like experiencing perfection
I just finished football band colorguard forever and now I live vicariously through these vines
watching these bc marching season is finna start
Here in Florida we don't get snow, we have crazy flash storms and flooding with a band director saying "THE LIGHTNING IS 10.3 MILES AWAY AND I DON'T HAVE TO CANCEL PRACTICE UNLESS ITS WITHIN 10 MILES!"
I'm thankful that I know what 1A and 6A bands are :D
2:07
Children of Jesus *my ass* 😂😂😂 No such thing as innocence on a band bus
more espresso less depresso
On my band bus some kids were fighting eachother throwing stuff out the window and couples sleeping and kissing and everyone singing 😂
Our soloist messed up during BOA prelims during the time the entire guard was preparing to go out for our flag feature, and the group I was with behind our bridge prop was laughing soooo loud 😂 I feel bad now, but it was hilarious.
I can literally relate to all of these except the "marching in snow" and the bus pulling up to a McDonalds vines...
Hawaii don't got snow and we usually eat either Costco or Pizza Hut pizza, bentos, or school made meals 😂😂😭
0:44 that actually happened to me and my clarinet broke in half.
the last one is so true, for my first Christmas parade I wore reindeer antler headband, reindeer glasses, and tied my hair up in bells that my friend said she didn't want on her clarinet.
Words cannot express how relatable this is
1:15 The ironic thing about that vine is, there were 3 Ryans in my marching band so losing all 3 of them in one event was literally impossible.
The metronome is fire 🔥🗿😩👌🅱️😂🤣🔥🔥🔥👌😩🔥👌🔥🔥😩👌🗿🅱️😩👌😂🤣🔥🔥🅱️
It’s marching season again, my dudes.
2:57 when the band directors/staff tell you to try and smile while your playing your instrument
I kinda wish I knew how life was for non finalists bands, but here at blue springs high school we're privileged.
I loved your show in Indy!! 😍
It really do be like that sometimes.
I’m in the Tarpon Springs High school band. And it’s fun
The drumline one hit me hard cause one of our freshman dropped the cymbal right as the drum major cut us off
I’m in the band and I loved this 😂😂😂😂 especially the stand tunes part😂😂😂
Concert (I’m in concert band, not marching) next Wednesday 😑 Nobody’s even near prepared. Especially percussion. We have a very SLOW calm 3/4 piece. It switched to 4/4, but for the first measure, trumpet just plays a whole note so everyone can adjust. It’s REALLY easy. Still. Cymbals ALWAYS play too fast.
I live in Arizona and marching during monsoon season is awful and muddy and humid but I can’t even imagine marching in snow 😂😭
Me * is percussionist *
Band Director because the rest of my section is idiots who randomly bang the instruments : PERCUSSION DO IT AGAIN
Me:does perfectly
Band Director: Kay can all the shitheads do it now
Me:is legit dying of laughter
When you're from a 2A school but you win the 4A class and overall 2nd place at a competition...
Band played Africa by toto at a football game
Holy crap I was in love
75 F (not even factoring humidity) band director dresses the band in like fancy marching clothes which have the long sleeves and tassels to march in our local Christmas parade. This is partially why I'm glad I was never in band.
3:00 I love how he’s smiling and he just swallows all his spit
Stand turns are always the best tbh
Drum line is so accurate. None of us know what to do when we fuck up.
0:25 *when pit kids try to play cymbals in the parades
0:25 I’m a percussionist in my middle school band and tHATS SO ACCURATE
the first one is so me. especially when people does learn the music.
Aww marching band I love it. Can’t wait for next marching season.
Band kids meeting the orchestra
“Is that a chicken”
Finally! Some band vines that make sense !!!
Stand songs are the best. Everyone's favorite tho is shots. Student section loves it. All we need is to get the football players to learn the dance.
This is the most accurate one yet
At 2:12 I feel like that would definitely be my band if we were pulling up at McDonald’s for lunch or something during competition!
0:19 this is so true 😂. Also Trumpets are the best 💪
Haha, you must be a trumpet. They have very big egos
Leloo Smith For real tho not gonna lie.
1:21 so basically our band has upperclassmen have the option to adopt a freshman as a band child and basically this just reminds me of me and my band parent mainly because he is a senior
2:26 I play violin in my band class and when I first brought it in people didn't know what it was by its case.
i’m a trumpet and the one about high notes was RELATABLE
Reminds me so much of my high schools marching band😭❤ I'm part of the color guard for marching season
2:14 so true
I've never loved metronome more in my whole entire life.
That part about 1A Bands vs. 6A bands though. I'm part of a 2A band with about 30 kids so going to competitions with bigger schools is crazy
*angrily* THIS IS SO ACCURATE
My band has 7 directors. The one is charge of Marching season, Mr Sumrall, can preach like in he’s in church ( hence the fact we’re located in the south). He has the nicknames “Pastor or Reverend Sumrall”.
God damn that’s accurate, can’t relate to the snow one as a Texas band kid
