Sending Bo, Green, and Varsho to try and recruit Roki is funny af. Not even a pitcher! Bo trying to convince someone to commit longterm when he doesn't even have a contract extension himself😂
The major problem the Blue Jays have is that they're the runner's up in their own club house...Guerrero and Bichette. You've self sabotaged yourself with other meaningful free agents by not signing your own superstar talent to superstar money
Rowdy Tellez reunion incoming. Been predicting it since Horwitz was traded away. Whoever the Blue Jays sign, it will likely be of a lower tier that will leave fans disappointed, with some fans saying it's better than nothing.
I would love Stroman back in Toronto every 5 days you have a guy that gives his all for the team. Does he have an attitude? maybe so but what athlete doesn't really
Vladdy would be stupid if he signed an extension with the blue jays right now when he has Steve cohen ready to drop the bag after the season ends so I’m trading him yesterday cause this team is set to finish last in the AL East so they need to think about the future
my opinion toronto is doom next year and i cant talk about chapman ps the dodgers have ruin baseball for me so i am 95percent going to pack it in not watch baseball ps you guys keep doing a great job
What an exhausting weekend. Lol Hard truth is that it's the worst time to take on the Dodgers. They get what they want and they want it all. We lost absolutely nothing and the miles straw money is acceptable, but disappointing. We gained a player who runs. 30-1 sb last year in AAA. He's put up similar WAR to Santander in the past (not that we care lol). Everything we were excited for after Hoffman is still in play.
Not sure why you keep giving this org a pass on everything they do. Miles is a brutal contract, if he did see the field of the Rogers Center, it means the team has completely collapsed. WAR is another metric that I don't put a lot of value in. Can he hit consistantly at the ML level? No, does he have power? No. Does he play good D? Yes. Does he have legs? Yes. With the team the way it is right now, the first two questions are much more important then the last. Sadly, I don't believe we will be signing anyone of significance this offseason. My view of this hasn't changed prior to or post Saki. Most likely outcome is a Talez or Turner re-union as there's really no point in spending more to put the team into the second tier of luxury tax.
@stevieG2015 I support (compared to most) them because I watched 7-8 all stars turn to plugs last year and the FO gets treated like they're the failures. Kirk, Jano, Springer, Bassitt, Gausman, Swanson, Romano and Bo.. all failed us. IKF and Turner were 2 of the best 5 hitters and they still get treated as failure too. Vlad is supposed to be our 45 HR guy and the FO is being criticized because they won't pay him 450, even if we need to acquire a guy to actually go hit his 40+ hrs. He's a failure in a big way for us. No one sees it. Lol And striking out at the very top of the market is acceptable, tho it stings. The circumstances became unfair, but these guys had the stones to make a bold move. 6 mil is peanuts. I know you don't trust WAR, but many team builders do (or a similar equation) and 1 WAR is worth about 9 mil. He's surplus value if he is limited to late inning roles...I don't like, but it is. (I agree he can't start when Varsho is back, and even then Lukes is better) One year is nothing, so even tho I get the frustration to a degree, I'm far from believing this team is the garage people feel it is. The FO salvaged the deadline, got under the lux tax , fixed the bullpen and added a guy worth a potential tonne of value in Gimenez. Then went hard at unrealistic targets and got close. (Not to mention Ohtani) If we signed Santander at 5/125 two months ago, we'd never had known he'd had been available for 3/75. Which is far better. Everything we get from here on our will be at better term than 2 months ago. Exactly what we need to not dig ourselves into a hole further. And everything we need is still available Its Like calling someone a loser for failing to reach the top of Everest Nothing to panic about ..
@stevieG2015 WAR is like a pie. It adds up to about 1000 for every 162 games. It's not infinitely handed out. The larger portion of the pie you can acquire, the less for others. In 2021-2023 our lineup/defense had about 31-33 war and Our Pitching had 13-20 WAR. (20 in 21, crazy) Last year we had 27 war from the lineup and 0.1 from the pitching. 20% lost on offense compared to 100 for pitching. The bullpen is arguably fixed to a degree. We need a starter or hard rebounds tho. On offense, Bo alone is worth 5 WAR that was missing (oWAR too) last year. Gimenez adds 4-5 and Vladdy could pop 10 more HRs and keep his DPs down and the offense, as is, should add 45hrs and 90 runs.. We need a bat. Hell, Two bats...but until Bregman, Santander and Alonso (none of which are ideal) are signed, everything we need is still available, in excess. Believe they won't get it done. That's up to you, but nothing about missing the top end guys will trickle down to the secondary market.. this is the market we always have done well in. In 2027, this payroll is clean. Literally anything can happen. Q1
@@eshep71 I agree that none of the top FA's that are left would be a good fit for this team. No sense in throwing more money away on aging players. For them to even stand a chance at a wildcard this year, Bichette and Springer would have to be fighting over the Comeback player of the year award and Jimenez would need to return to his 2022 batting peformance. Even if we get that out of those 3 and Vlad can press play on his second half last season, we still require two additional bats to lengthen our lineup. Let's face it, Kirk is not a number 4 or 5 hitter, we need guys that can offer the protection that the top of the lineup desperately needs.
The Dodgers would likely be willing to trade Gonsolin. Take away his final 11 starts from 2023 when the Dodgers were allowing him to pitch with a torn UCL to reach his incentives and his previous 33 starts are 21-5 1.90 ERA 0.92 WHIP 6.0 WAR. He has two years of control left for relatively cheap.
Would be massive for the jays, could get a discount coming off the injury as well as with the current structure of the dodgers starters. Trades could be the key to rounding out this roster.
I’m a Mets fan so I will say that first, but let me ask you Blue Jays fans of question… If the Blue Jays realize they can’t come to an agreement with the Vlad, why not trade him? If you can’t come to an agreement with him now when no one is bidding up the price what makes you think they’re gonna come to an agreement with Steve Cohen, the Red Sox, the Yankees and everybody else in on him? You can’t win the race when it’s just you then ur gonna add all these other teams and you’re gonna win the race?
Because the two boneheads in charge of such a trade will want the sun and the moon and then some. I figure they'll start with Pete Alonso, your five best prospects and some cash for just for the privilege to speak to their holiness' Shapiro and Atkins. You'll have to take George Springer naturally and his contract and probably a statue of Ted Rogers outside Citi Field. These guys are clowns
We could go on and on about this point. If they don’t plan to sign vladdy, it makes a ton of sense to trade him and get a haul in return. Unfortunately, Ross Atkins and the front office have their jobs on the line and if they went to a rebuild, they probably wouldn’t be the ones rebuilding the team. Every quote from the front office has pointed to them wanting to make a competitive baseball team this season, and you don’t trade Vlad if you want to do that. As a Mets fan, you know the Mets had a berg disappointing season in 2023, and turned it around in 2024, that seems like the hope here from this front office.
The Blue Jays will finish 4th or 5th in the division. No higher. They have decent pitching and no hitting. They will likely sign Alonso but not both him and Santander and one of them isn’t getting them into 3rd.
@@LockedOnBlueJays well maybe not those guys but we like 6 pitchers and our minor league prospects are always outstanding. Question? Are the Blue jays gonna let Guerrero walk for nothing like the Angeles did Ohtani?

They know what number of Vladi wants and they know that Vladi is probably not going to budge so if that’s the case, it’s a very easy decision. You either hit his number or you trade him and if you’re gonna trade him you’re never gonna have a better time to trade him then when the team that’s a desperate as you are like the Mets. So take all of their prospects and send them Vladi because he wasn’t gonna sign here anyway, and I’d rather do that then get the compensatory draft at the end of the year which essentially means you get nothing for Vladi.

I like how in the trade market Atkins OVERVALUES Vladdy but when in comes to a contract extension he UNDERVALUES Vladdy. Big brain Atkins HAS TO GO.
To top the Straw trade Atkins will try and trade for Anthony Rendon next.
Detroit might trade Baez to Toronto.
There is one thing that we can say to the Dodgers, it's called a hard cap.
