sounds and looks awesome, i saw flames coming out on the last rev!! Crazy!! I like your mods though I've read that this could ruin the engine if you install the completely open exhaust as there is no back-flow prevention! Removing baffle is the worst thing you can do on a bike! I saw ppl complaining on forums their ktm dukes are a trash due engine failure, they dont realize that this is one of the reason why this happens! Flames are not healthy for the engine at all. Owners are experiencing cracking pistons and valves failures due this kind of mods. This will reduce the life of your engine as every fun costs money. Congrats for this beauty and long life ktm! I am an 790 duke happy owner. Awesome video btw, drive safe guys.

Amazing that the 890R comes with the power cup 2 from the factory!! I use these tires on my street/ trackbike and are amazing, they suck cold but I run warmers on them anyway when I take the v2 to the track.

@@vtranmoto thanks! My trackbike is an 07R1 and I had a monster 1200s and was scraping the headers on track so I got rid off it. I got the V2 last year in june. Love it!!! That’s exactly how I felt about the V2 when I test rode it when it came out. Unfortunately, I convinced myself I wanted to race 600 class again and ended up getting a R6 (which I don’t ever ride, ha). Funny enough, the V2 is now being integrated into the supersport class for competition!

We’ve had 4-5 street triple and currently have a 2021 speed triple RS; if you are doing double duty road and track, I’d go with the street or Duke. Recommendation is pick the engine type you like the most: torquey twin or smooth triple (though tbh the Duke is super smooth!).

Took the baffle out, baffle in or out is more for noise regulations. If you end up modifying the whole exhaust system from stock such as changing the headers/mid pipe/muffler then you should definitely get a proper tune for it. In my case, we just used the Akrapovic map (we had the dealer install that so it isn’t on the video) and then we installed the exhaust ourselves.

The Duke and RC8C have been good for us. The RC8C has a 890 motor and nearly 2000 race miles on it without issue (I change oil every 2-3 trackday and every race weekend). I can’t speak for long term, but it’s been good for the last year!
In my opinion, manufacturing has improved across every manufacturer. Ducati used to be inconsistent in the early 2000s but they’ve improved significantly. Same with other European manufacturers like Triumph.
If you go European, go with a newer generation!

The whole system came in two boxes and when we were in Dallas they forgot to give us the second box with the midpipe in it! Ha! The dealer was kind enough and overnighted it to us so we were able to get the system on without an issue once we had the midpipe 😁

    • @vtranmoto

It’s just a screw that’s beneath a rubber grommet that you can remove, believe it’s a 5 or 6 allen. This is for the full exhaust, I don’t think it’s like that for the slipon exhaust.

@@vtranmoto thanks man. Was the screw welded on? As someone says it's got a dot of welding..I know for a fact it's welded on the akra slip on (to make it harder to remove) but I hoped the full system would be easier to unscrew and wouldn't be welded. And that's the case right? Thanks
