As a teenager we used to "cruise" down Broadway, make a left on second ave and drive the loop again. Took about 10 minutes. Now you can't even get 3 blocks in 10 minutes down there.
Tower Records on West End Ave.!!! RIP.
The south is so beautiful thanks for the post my friend.😊
This felt like actual time travel...very strange feeling. I kept expecting to see my 15-year-old self come rollerblading through the frame.
I was especially excited to be reminded of Stone Mountain on West End...I remember buying hair dye and Smashing Pumpkins t-shirts there but couldn't quite remember where it was located
My man…Stone Mountain was the shit. It was next door to Tower Records in the upstairs unit of that White House where Papa Johns is now. Going in there in the late 90’s was a teenagers dream. Such good memories. Glad someone else appreciates the Stone. 👍
@@sadboi7537 I had the old VW bus that was parked out front....painted all hippie.....
Nashville...I MISS Y'ALL SO MUCH! Lived there...'70's, '90's, 2000's!!!💞😪✌
So very glad I found this vid! I got to Nashville a couple of years later in '96 so this landscape is a familiar one... Man! It's changed so much!!
back when we didn’t give a damn about Lower Broadway & spent our weekend nights cruising 2nd Ave. 💯
The nashville i grew up in and loved.
This was 4 years before I was born. I love seeing how my state and city was in those times. If only it could stay that way❤️
Crazy how quiet it is downtown! Things have changed so much in 25 years!
I remember this EXACTLY! Went to work with dad everyday during summer!
I moved here in 1983. This was a great reminder of what the traffic used to be like.
i moved to clarksville in august 1993 from washington state when i was 9
This right here is youtube gold!!!
Thanks for making this available: I lived in Nashville in 1994 so this really hits me in all the feels.
Oh my gosh, SO many memories!! I was a junior in high school in 1994 and my best friend and I used to just drive around the city all the time. Plus, we lived in Brentwood so you definitely captured our old stomping grounds. 😊 Oh how I miss the 90's... THANK YOU SO MUCH for sharing!
Looked very nice with no cell towers
I was 14 when this was filmed. Living in glorious Pre-McMansion Brentwood times. Brought back tons of memories!
I’ve lived here my whole life, this was trippy to see lol i kept waiting for you to pass Fuddruckers, loved that place as a kid. Thanks for posting!
thanks for providing this, even nashville native all my life but wasn’t alive yet in 94, this city has changed so much and it’s cool to see the changes i hadn’t seen
Awesome video. I went to Vanderbilt from 93-97. This really brought back memories.
Goodness 25 years ago 😮😮
A 5-year-Old little girl with her whole life ahead of her. 🥰
Yes, both of our girls are now grown women and happily married!!! just wish I had filmed them more and Nashville less.in that video.

This puts into perspective just how much this city has changed in such a short time! Crazy to look downtown and see half as many skyscrapers and like no traffic. Also crazy that there was still that much farmland around Brentwood back then. I noticed the Batman Building, pretty sure that was completed that year.
This is a really cool piece of history, it’s really interesting seeing how much Nashville has grown in 26 years.
7:53 My mom and I like to visit the Frist Center. I see that old train station every time we drive there. I guess this was before they converted the Frist from a post office to an art museum.
I miss skating in brentwood. I was there on the night it opened. It was awesome
What a great time capsule. I started visiting Nashville in 94 and eventually moved here. You can tell there is a lot more traffic now. Thanks for sharing.
Yep, a LOT more traffic! Seems like lots of people had the same idea as you....
You are welcome. We came here in 1993...and I agree its not sleepy any more. I miss some things for sure.
Completely unrecognizable, I graduate from BHS in 2023 and this place definitely has changed in 30 years
I used to go to that Tower Records all the time!
I woke up thinking "Is there some way I can feel 100 years old today?" Thanks.......
I got married in the Music Row Wedding Chapel on 16th avenue.. it's been torn down and is either a parking structure or office building now
Love this video....it looked like Franklin Road back in the day....I remember living in downtown Franklin, could go to Brentwood via Franklin Rd. in about 12-15 minutes
I bet it was much cheaper to live back then I was barely a year old then so I wouldn't know
Nice video thanks
I REMEMBER THE VHS CAMCORDERS BACK THEN
I was born in 96 and its crazy seeing Nashville turn from a "small" town to a metro city in just a couple decades lol
Wow the freeway with only two cars passing
OMG I grew up on Dahlia. Sometimes I would walk home from Scales and beat the school bus!!
The shots around Belmont campus look very similar to when I showed up on campus in 1999. It's very different today.
This is crazy to see how much has changed since then
Everything look so different from what I see all the time which makes sense when your born 11 years after the video was taken
Wow.....look at broadway/west end!
Very cool.
Who remembers Mrs. Winters on west end
Where are all the bums and homeless folks at? Today in Nashville that is all you see on every corner.
Omg! Kenny Rogers and Eckerd Drug!!
Man, Nashville before the skyline was flooded with cranes
Its now a city i can barely recognize.
It's driving me nuts to figure out who is singing that song....Just a precious memory, i still hear her in my sleep. Do you happen to know?
i remember going to opryland in 1994 when i was 11
I really miss Opryland. when we moved here this was the best and our two girls really loved it.
I still remember the collective "WHAT?!" in my homeroom class when our teacher mentioned that Opryland was being shut down. 😮💨
Stone mountain!!!!
Great
Nice
I would love to know what time of day this was, and what time of year... it seems IMPOSSIBLY uncrowded!
A time before the implants arrived.....a time i only go to enjoy for a very short time.
The video was taken in late July or August of 1994. I may repost the video with all the music. I was not sure if by allowing the radio to play all of the music in the background...that I would be in copyright violation.
Wow, I moved here in 1996 and I'd forgotten how much less cluttered and claustrophobic is used to be. 70% of these streets are just rows of ugly condos now, they dig up all the trees and build the structures right up to the sidewalk ... no yards, no cool architecture, no character.
Classic
10:10, that e34 when it was still a new body style.....unf
I never knew cause i was BORN IN 04
Stone Mountain at 13:33 ish
yea who is that kid throwing rocks at wow! 6:23
Why did this video cut out Hume Fogg BOTH times they drove past it?
Kin folk said Jed move away from there 🤠😞
what's the building at 15:30?
Its the Hindu Cultural Center...old Hickory Blvd, Bellevue, Nashville. TN
I use to live in Nashville, actually Antioch late 1992-1994. I use to work at a barber shop called Fresh Styles on Nolensville Rd between Harding Mall and Phono Lux Records with two other barbers name Keith & Rebo. I hung out Fountain Square, Club Oasis and another club called Mo Better's. Sometime at this bowling alley in east Nashville. Forgot the name of it. I miss those Krystal's burgers though. Krystal's & White Castle. Hickory Hollow Mall was tight. I stayed in the steets after finishing up at the barber shop. I had so many women i was seeing i couldn't keep up to get any sleep. Shout Out to Nashville, Tenn !!!!!!!!!
Big ole door
I dont think this was Nashville in 1994. The hardrock and wildhorse didnt come around until 1997 I believe and there were no trolleys around downtown in 94 because at that time downtown was basically a ghosttown minus printers alley.
Definitely Nashville. I live here now and the landmarks are very recognizable.
The Wild Horse opened up June 1, 1994 and the Hard Rock opened that same month and year on the 21st. I was in the military at the time and heard all about in several letters.
Big old grandma pants
Im really tired
Nashville TN is too expensive. Won't go back.
before blue state refugees flooded Nashville and ruined it.
Wish it was still 1994. Nashville was a better place then. Growth is out of control.
