Great video! I'm making one for my students. And for those who asks about the difficulty in seeing where you want to cut. Make the last piece of the sled have a wider hole and then cover it with a transparent plastic sheet. It makes the saw move easier and you can see the where your cut will go. Thanks for this wonderfull instruction.
Brother, from Venezuela a fraternal greeting. Indeed, these ideas are a source of inspiration in our context where we have little access to technology for the use of important tools and are of permanent use. Thank you for making life less insufferable. Affectionately yours Note: Please excuse my bad English
Very inspiring - I would consider making the bottom of the long slide out of transparent acrylic in order to be able to see markings on the wood to be cut...
If you remove the jigsaw sled, place your workpiece and clamp it down with the sled again you know where the cut will be, you could also install a ruler in the base board as an improvement.
Great video and interesting project, it's only a matter of time before there is a serious injury to your right hand ...use push sticks please on the next one.
I enjoyed this video so much. I just found you and was really goo, goo eyed the whole time. You just about have all your power tools homemade. So economical! I have to give you max props man. So many woodworkers with high end equipment and you just simply do it with such ingenuity. Love it. Count me in as a subscriber. I don't know who are the idiots that gave you thumbs down, shame on them for doing so. And the music was a welcome sound, not overbearing and loud. You're a jem man. Keep it coming.
Very nice indeed. I don't know if I bother if I had a circular saw Tho.. I see he did as well for the drill and for other tools. You are a Genius Sir. Now I need to find how to make something similar for my jigsaw without the requirements of circular saws or other high tech tools. I'm very impressed. Thanks for your video.
Gokmen ALTUNTAS...has became my one of the most most FAVOURITE channel ... your each creation is smart no words to express thanks to you... GOD BLESS YOU ! ! !
Great and easy to follow DIY wood working essentials. Thanks for sharing it for free. Very good substitute for expensive commercial tools and equipments.
Excellent to cut at a random position. But you get trouble if you want to cut THE position. You cant see the marks on the target. You should cut a wider slot at the blade for visual purposes (position the target to the right place).
Many thanks for your kind idea i try to cut on straight line by jigsaw many times but i can,t , i think your mervelous idea will solve all my problems thank you
I appreciate what you have made but I need to know that How do you measure the bottom wood under the jigsaw? How do you know where to cut the highlighted wood? I mean cutting a rough wood is ok but if I am making a drawer then I need to cut exact measured wood? So I am little bit confused here....bcuz the underneath wood is hidden under your jigsaw so how do you know you are cutting on the exact marked line??
make 1 inch holes along its route ever 4 inches and the very end stop. that way you see you pencil mark line. or use perspex instead 6mm it will have stregth from the side runnuners that hold it in place.
wonderful...only one area I will change. I will use clear pexiglass for the bottom of the sled the jigsaw slides on. that way I can see marks. otherwise this is perfect.
Oh, I like this. Not only does it keep your cuts straight and smooth, but it is also safe for a disaster like me I mean there are times I should not have access to power tools! So far, I have been lucky!
Great! Very useful! But how do you decide the situation when you need to see the cutting line, or point, or to cut exact length? May be it would be more effective to use a piece of Plexiglas like a cutting base...
I extended the cut line later than, but your idea is cool too
Bom projeto.
Plexiglass could be placed on the saw's slide base to see the cutting area more easily.?. A narrow strip in the middle, just where the saw blade passes, the rest wood. This would avoid scratching the plexiglass too much
Make the saw frame jig out of fairly heavy CLEAR Plexiglass so you can see the wood you are cutting . You can not see it with the jig you made. But other then that it is a good unit.
You can see the cutting line if you extend the center of the guide a few millimeters
I mean I drew the cutting line on the piece to be cut, I tried to line it up in the slot of the saw holding jig. It was very hard to see. SO I made the cutting jig out of 1/4 inch plexiglass. That way you can see through it and it helps in lining up the cutting line.
very cool!!!! I'm checking out your mobile drill press next. I thought since I have a band saw and drill press I would not need these jigs but I was wrong. These are very cool and my next build will be both of these...Thank you very much
I buy a basic Jigsaw to cut wood at home, I see a video guide to make a tool that makes my basic jigsaw cut more precise... fantastic👍 Step 1 - Turn on your bench mounted routing tool? in your workshop.... Forget it 🤣 Nice vid tho
VERY good tutorial and down to the point. I like your videos because it shows how to do something with very simple tools and not like other UA-camrs that uses expensive equipment to do similar things!!! One thing I will point out (positive criticism) is that you should number your videos so we know what you did first. For example, we saw you using your drill press so you must have done that first. UA-cam play list does not show the list in order of what you have posted.

Blind cuts since you can't see your marked lines under the wooden table-guide. Maybe try Plexiglas?
My thoughts exactly

very inspiring
thank you Gökman

Hallo
Isn't there anything this man can't make out of wood. Jolly good job Sir, and keep them coming. Thankyou !

Absolutely mesmerizing to watch you work. Nice set of home made tools too. Your skills are highly impressive.
Amazing... especially considering you do all your jigs yourself! From the drill press to the belt sander! All home made! Well done. Subscribed.

Simple and beauty design' good job👏👏👍🏽

Safety and precision genius. Thanks!

João Henrique Gonçalves dos Santos Ah sim ... Bem legal .. obrigado
Big question. How can you see the line that you wants to cut??????????
i love watching this dude work
Really good. I have just bought a new jigsaw. Guess what I'm making!
That's a way to get rid of all the plastic (garbage) they sell! Super creative, honest craftmanship.
Suas ideias são maravilhosas Deus te abençoe

I now have an idea of making It with transparent solid plastic board. So I can see through my work.
Thank you for your idea.
btw, what's the tool at 00:37 - 01:22 you used to make the board?
How do u know what length u r cutting as the wood will not be visible under the fixed plank

you're a genius!!! Thank you so much for sharing your project with the world :) Cheers from Germany!
Springs under the cutting board on the bolts could be helpful for releasing cut piece
Great and very original design. Thank you for sharing
if you are cutting a piece of wood with a line drawn where you want the cut, how can you see the line?
I was thinking the same thing.
when you lift the top to insert the wood you should be able to line it up with the cut line on the base. it might not be 100% accurate but it's close. Im just guessing though :)
Better used a see-through plastic board for this project to see the line you are cutting.
How about looking down the hole at the end of the cut on the jig which is in line with the edge of the boeard
I think this would be better if the bottom piece of the jigsaw holder would be made out of plexiglass. Just so you can see precisely where you cut.
Awesome video! Thanks so much! The best part was the measurements that most videos don't share . . . :)
Just wanna say thanks a lot. It's your idea here that make me wanna use my jigsaw again. Awesome 👍👍👍
One change only, the guide should be of plexiglass, to see when you sow, but it is nice workplatform!
with scratch resistant screen / film ?
I was about to say the same thing , you can't see the exact mark or length of the board that your cutting.

I'd replace the top plate which guides the saw with some kind of transparent plexiglass so you can see where you are cutting the wood
The plexi may scratch over time
Huawei phone still better to see something than nothing ;-)
Looks great but how do you see the mark you're wanting to cut
Brilliant!!!!! But never pass your fingers across a moving blade like you did when you used the router. That is extremely dangerous.
Thanks for sharing!! I'll build on station like this one shown, very soon!!
It's a great great idea, but, I have just one question ¿how do I see the cut mark in the wood? where do I will the cut? the wood doesn't allow to see the cut mark. that's my comment, but it's an excellent idea¡¡¡
I have same question ..
It could be possible to replace the base batten with a transparent Plexiglas batten...
An undermount shade vision camera🤔
Best jig i have seen so far.👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
You want to make a jig for the jigsaw so it can saw straight. But the problem arises as you need the appropiate tool for making straight pieces of wood for this jig : a saw that can make straight cuts ,a circle saw.
Congratulations, it is a good idea for handling a tool with precision, easy, useful and pragmatic.
Very nice little project!!
I once did this with particle board, but I just had sparks everywhere.
Apparently the little blade and bearings don't like to be forced into some direction?
I have to say that was years ago with a cheap Bosch jig saw.
You need a website with all the plans for those awsome projects ;)
usta eline sağlık. bir şey sormak istiyorum; yaptığın kılavuz ahşap, dolayısıyla altına koyduğun keseceğin ahşabın neresini keseceğini nasıl hesap ediyorsun. kılavuz şeffaf olsa, keseceğin ahşabı neresinden kesmen gerektiğini görürsün. bu sorunu nasıl aşıyorsun?
Excellent! But how can we see the cutting mark we made on the board?
You can align your cutting mark with the slit in the base board before clamping it in place with the jigsaw track.
Muito proveitosa essa idéia!!!
Just spent hours creating a less than perfect copy. If I had table saw, a router bit, a miter saw, etc. Why would I need to make this bc all the other tools do what I need - do a straight perfect cut w my jigsaw, the only saw I have.
@Jawad Hazrat looking forward to checking your link :)
FWIW what you're experiencing is similar to me, and is also what machinists in the 19th century had to face. To build a precision tool, you need a tool of slightly less precision. It's not quite a chicken and egg problem, it's just an iterative process. My first jigs were sloppy and took forever to make because I didn't have anything to work from, but they were good enough to build better replacements. After 3-4 rounds you should have sufficiently exact versions. If you don't want to go through all of that work you can buy more commercial power tools, a route I took with a drill press rather than building my own. Good luck.
Other jigsaw station videos i watched didnt have measurements, thank you for including measurements in the video
