To make these chords 7ths, count up 2 notes in the scale from the 5th in the triad, and add that note (the 7th) to the chord. Now, if you’d like to jazz the chord up a bit, you can add add some colors. For example, the dominant triad colors are 9, 9b, 9#, 11#, 5#, and 13. The major colors are 9, 11#, and 13. Minor: 9, 11, and 13. Most of the time, adding a 9 (2) to any of those chords will sound good. I want you to memorize there colors and practice them on the piano. So to be clear... if i start at any note on a piano scale and i count 037 itll give me a minot chord? And 047 will give me a major chord.. and this works with every note on a keyboard?
