As usual, great content. I just completed a ten-month MBA program & I really enjoyed it. Initially, I went for it for vanity reasons. Now, I'm starting to apply for more senior management/director level positions.
Perfect timing for this video! Earlier today I was looking at different graduate programs, the MAOL at UMPI Is top of my list but I am not able to find a lot of information on it from people that have taken it recently.
I have been hooked on your videos since I found you 4 days ago so thank you for tour content. Do you have any knowledge of cousera and if any schools accept it
@@CollegeHacked this isn’t technically true. UMPI accepts Google PM certification from Coursera and others. Google PM transfers in as BUS 400, a 300 level elective and a 100 level elective. I believe the IBM Data Analytics course has good transfers too.
I got my BA in Business Administration from SNHU. I was thinking to continue w SNHU for my Masters degree in Marketing but it will cost me about 24 grand. I found southeastern oklahoma state university masters programs for about 10 grand. Do you have any input for this school? Any info would be appreciated.
Thank you so much for this content! I’m getting ready to knock out Sophia courses and transfer them in to LUO then I will absolutely pursue a masters there and try to transfer credit using portfolios!
Hello, I have a bachelor's degree in nursing. BSN. I wanted to go the IT route. I am planning to do Health informatics. Is on on-campus route at UC Davis a better option or I should look at some online master's degree program? I am debating. Any insight would be helpful.
We are big fans of residential masters degrees if you have the option! Particularly somewhere like UC Davis, that’s a very good school. If it’s more about just having the piece of paper than about learning and making connections, online is better. But residential is likely worth the sacrifice.
I’m trying to figure out where to get my master’s. I got my bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from UCF but because I have no professors or anyone else to write letters of recommendations I can’t go for their master’s program. I looked into Walden, Capella, Grand Canyon University, Purdue Global, Liberty University, and National University. They all have degrees in Forensic psychology which is what I want to pursue. I watched your video about for-profit school being scams so I kinda took out Walden, Capella, Grand Canyon, Purdue Global. I was thinking of going to National University but I’m nervous if it’s a diploma mill. I appreciate your feedback.
I concur that for profit universities should be avoided. Purdue Global is owned by Purdue University, a highly respected public university. Grand Canyon reincorporated and is now nonprofit.
Currently in my last semester at LU for my undergrad, used a lot of ICE exams/clep test/professional experiences to hack all but the 30 required LU credits but now looking into getting a MBA are there any schools that you can do anything similar or is the competency based courses still the best option
I just graduated from UMPI class of 2024. Got accepted at WGU. Npw im thinking about Liberty university for my masters curious to see if I can do a portfolio
I'm looking to change careers. I already have a master's degree (approximately 25 years ago). Should I get a second bachelor's degree or a second master's degree? My Bachelor's degree in psychology, master's degree in education (adult Learning and development) I'm also a LCDC (license chemical dependency counselor). Most of my career has been in social services. I'm looking to change to a career that has a higher salary maybe IT or project management. I have minimum experience in either of the fields. If I have to go back to school to get a degree, I am only looking to go for a short period of time. Thanks
For PM it likely makes more sense to get the relevant certifications rather than another bachelors. For IT, a bachelors would make sense if you have no background in it yet. You’ll need to do some heavy lifting on LinkedIn/meetups where you can network and establish yourself as invested in the field and knowledgeable about current trends and issues. You got this!
Thank you! I was told that a PM certificate is not worth much without a concentrated field like IT or construction. What are your thoughts? What are some good second career options that yields high salaries and short/cheap additional educational commitments? I prefer a flexible schedule office 9-5 are not for me. Also do you have any insight on Walden University? Based on your research and approach would you recommend them?
Please correct me if I'm wrong. But I did heard that the master's degree is actually becoming the new bachelor's degree. So, in the future, in my be necessary to get a masters. Please correct me if I'm incorrect. But that's what I saw.
I can see you're still responding to comments haha Do you know anything or have some experience with Central Washington University and their FlexIT system?
Just looked into it. Looks like a solid school, but it’s a little expensive at $35 a day (compared to say, WGU) and they have some unique admissions requirements. Like needing to have all your gen eds done and at least 2 years of work experience.
I am an 15+ years experienced Software Enginner and looking for online masters degree in AI or Data Science which is cheap and easy to finish like in an year. Please let me know
Can you review these online colleges, most of which are tranfer credit friendly but are nationally accredited. Ashworth College, Penn Foster College, Martinsburg College, California Coast University, U.S. Career Institute, Washington Technical Institute and Columbia Southern University. WTI and Columbia are regionally accredited. Ive been to several of these schools and I think they are great despite the national accreditation. If the government accepts NA degrees i think they are just fine. Take care.
Those schools may be alright institutions. But the problem is that if someone is not pleased with one of those institutions or relocates and decides to transfer their options will be limited. Most regionally accredited universities will not accept those credits.
It’s true that for some, a nationally accredited degree will be enough to help them reach their goals. But it’s a little like trying to start a group chat with 2 iPhones and 2 Androids. Sometimes it just doesn’t work, and everyone ends up mad in the process. 😉 As a business model, we like happy clients, and happy clients are reliably produced via accredited degree plans!
NA is not just fine. They're like American politicians: full of promises and fluff, expensive, makes you feel good about things now but doesn't get you anywhere in the long run. Stick with RA credit. Even UoP is going for regional accreditation.
No, but a few in the pipeline with that plan :) We have only been open for a couple years so far, so I’m making the assumption that has something to do with it, whether it really does or not 😝
That makes sense! Thanks for the reply. I'm trying to decide what if I do go back and finish my degree! It's would either be that or another grad program@@CollegeHacked
@@nikanderson8786 The nice thing about law schools now is that the application is a lot more than your undergrad institution (which kind of didn't used to be true). So GPA is important, doing well academically is important. But just as important are your extra curriculars, rec letters, and the story behind why you want to go into law :) If you ace those things and the LSAT, a regionally accredited undergrad from anywhere will check the box on the bachelors degree requirement for you!
I'm glad you said this as it gives me a chance to clarify. I haven't taught at LUO in nearly a year. I'm not in any leadership position, and I get no financial benefit from sending students there. So, this is definitely not an ad for Liberty University. But if you want to sign up for a College Hacked consult, I wouldn't argue with that. ;)
