SelloRekt / LA Dreams is American synthwave musician and producer Kevin Montgomery. Heavily influenced by retro movies and videogames since his early years of growing up in the 80s, he creates electronic music, taking the sounds of the 80s to the future. His music has been streamed millions of times, is placed in movies (i.a. Flower), streaming television series (i.a. ⬢ SIMMONS SDS V
The Simmons SDS V was the first (analog) viable electronic replacement for acoustic drums. It was developed by Richard James Burgess and Dave Simmons, manufactured initially by Musicaid in Hatfield, UK, and commercially released in 1981.
The SDS-V was a really popular system, used by many of the big names in the 80's.
It was 'module' based so you could start with 5 modules and expand it to 6 or 7 in total.
There was also different types of modules, toms, bass drum, snare and hi hat.
Also it had 'patch memories', of sorts anyway. These were basically trimmers that were recessed below the panel. You could also use it in a 'free' mode where the sound you had was the sound set on the knobs.
