I never really thought to compare the benchmark itself lol, I was so focused on the details of the character models that I didn't see much point in watching the cinematic, there ARE suprising changes here though. Even the first scene seems to be shot slighty differently.
A lot of the more major changes are also in the character creator, which wasn't updated in quite a while.
The lighting and saturation of the skin looks much more natural and healthy... didn't expect to see how suddle changes can improve the result that much.
Also, i think the saturation of the roads in thw jungle were a bit lessened which made the the more saturated character really pop ^^
Looking at the face at 0:18, the shader's environmental lighting seems greater whereas the light seems more "spread" evenly rather than awkwardly cutting off at a low resolution.
The warmth of the revised lighting is wonderful and the ability to discern faces in shadow is SO much easier now. Comparing my character with shots in the first benchmark is in some places almost night and day.
only noticed when pointed out but i really do like the fog they added in the background.
View distance in 1:33 or so is very noticeable for me, i want less whiteness like 1.0 and more color vibrance like the 1.0
It looks like it's not only had improved lighting but better optimization. Frame rate looks a lot smoother now. I noticed on my machine I had a lot of dropped frames and screen tearing on 1.0. After running the new one there were almost no issues. I thought there was a problem with my graphic settings but it must have just been the benchmark itself.
chad which app do you use to record
Out of the gate the boat segment looks miles better. The sails in particular.
better ambient occlusion, better color correction (skin tones don't look grayish), better illumination, better use of volumetric fog, the character models are improved 💯
I cant wait for Awntra!
Better lighting made the colors less washed out, also making the edges easier to see.
Cross your eyes so they overlap
The cheeks: dechubbied
I don't see a difference, can someone please tell me what changed?
i see slight color changes, on the old one colors were more vibrant while new has less vibrant color, but the character is less pale on the new one
It also looks like they made more liberal use of fog where appropriate, like that lake scenes and the waterfall introducing a battle scene outside of a dungeon.
Idk, man, probably just a problem with my eyes or brain or something. I can't really tell too many differences between them. Besides, I think it all looks good either way, as long as they didn't make all the rendering look like the polygonal grapes XD
Tbh the difference is so slight that they could have gotten away with not telling anybody they were updating the graphics and nobody would have noticed 🤣🤣🤣
You underestimate the people who play this game. There have been a lot of changes - nearly all at the lighting level. They made changes based on feedback, which are very noticeable if you are able to look more at still images. This video is not the best way to see it. The video is for PC performance.
@@laerwen been playing it for almost 11 years, i underestimate naught my friend
Honestly....I can't tell the difference
Not everyone has the ability to tell the difference, nothing to fret about. Just know I can confirm for you that there's a significant difference 👍
im sorry, it still looks like shit but with better shaders
i wish they could do make ffxiv on unreal 5 or some kind still im not satisfied my opinion they got so much money i mean dude.....
blame consoles, Sony insists on them watering down every aspect of the PC version to achieve "platform parity" with Playstation 4. This is why the areas are so small where other MMOs like WoW have a giant open world to fly around in, and why mods get you banned.
Unreal 5? Why so the memory can leak like a broken faucet and we can get trash ass stuttering? Ask the Wuthering Waves how unreal is working for their online game
Yes let's remake the entire game from the ground up in a completely different engine.
Because that's an easy thing to do which won't cause major problems.
@@ZorroVulpes First: The engine is over 10 years old
Second: The weakest link in the chain is not the PS4, but 10 years old Laptops
thumps down square enix has the power to upgrade the graphics even better and make it a better game ..
This game is going from 80 GB to 140 GB download. It's an MMO - it's not going to be the bleeding edge of imagery. It IS however going to be one of the best-looking MMOs out there.
