Holy shit! An ACTUAL recording of a full power CLM! This is AMAZING! This is one of the biggest accomplishments of the siren enthusiast community. The sound of a real CLM at full power, rotation and all, has been revealed. I thought the sound of a Thunderbolt 1000T was scary! This is something I'd have a heart attack if I heard.
@@ToothlessThedragon9 That's what I was thinking! It winds up super fast like how one running in 480V would too. Now we can finally see it rotate ! Interesting to see it does just like ACA sirens where it stops rotating on the wind down, suggesting that the attack signal is controlled by some sort of automatic on/off switch
@@Doodlebugthegoldenhamster It's not a pneumatic siren, it's a mechanical siren. Pneumatic sirens are like the Hörmann HLS and F71 sirens for example. Hello all. I am researching the history and provenance of a restored CLM 5223 siren that now resides at the Northern Rockies Museum in Hinton, Alberta. I have cobbled together information on the manufacturing and operational specifications from various sources. The one piece of information I just can't confirm is the decibel level. Does anyone out there have any idea what the decibel level of the average CLM was OR know where I could investigate said information for myself? I know that this siren is not the model of the one I am researching, but I will likely be including a link so any interested parties can come here and hear what a CLM sounds like, even if it's not our specific one. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I have a question for all the other siren enthusiasts. What sounds scarier, CLM in attack full power or a carter?
I'd say they sound too similar to pick one over the other in my opinion.
Don't forget secomak or klaxon or castle castings or even the B&M director dual tone all sound very ominous
. But the supercharged THUNDERBOLT AND HURRICANE have a very fearsome ROARH in attack as does the P50
