thank you so much for your little lecture---it was exactly what I needed as I prepare for my first year of university! i found your words really comforting and reorienting. wishing the best for all of us in the new school year
Thank you for sharing your kind and curious heart and mind 💕 this video was not only a comfort to watch and listen to, but also a great reminder to check in with myself more and make the effort to know myself as I continue to grow, year after year
Thank you for the tips and advice Leah! Starting my final year of uni and it’s definitely scary. My relationship with school has been stressful to say the least and I’m now slowly mending it which kinda feels silly now because I’m finishing soon but I guess it’s never too late :)❤
ingilizce anlamıyorum fakat videoları ve kendisi çok hoşuma gittiği için hem buradan hem de instagramdan takip ediyorum. zamanla ingilizce çalıştıkça daha çok izleyeceğim. 🌷💆🏻♀️🤌🏻
Loved this video. I’m thinking about applying for a PhD, but I’m still so indecided. I’d love to go back to study again 😢❤ But in my case, it will take a lot of courage… due to the uncertainty of the profession. Wish u the best Leah💞🌸
Intentional thinking and living are not interchangeable modes of thinking or practices with the concept that the individual is held accountable for their intent behind all actions by a higher entity in islam. Please don’t conflate the two wrongly just so that you can have a talking point about your religion. Critical analysis of one’s thoughts and mindfulness of concurrent behaviour are not the same things as the idea that one’s intent must be ‘pure’ and in servitude of the god’s decreed law to be considered virtuous.
They have talked about how important intent is in their religion. It’s because they most likely love their religion, and you can talk about something you love. It’s just like saying, ‘This is also important in my culture.
@@Monsieur_Zuvira you paid absolutely no regard to the entire and only point of my comment. I was raised by muslims and studied islam academically ever since I was in kindergarten. Intentional living and mindfulness cannot be complicated with the concept of a human’s sole virtue and right to peace and heaven in the afterlife being determined by whether the god discerns all your actions were done with the intent he dictates they should’ve. Please give little thought at least to the words you read before you reply.
@@Monsieur_Zuvira to further expound on my reason for even taking the time to leave a critical response to their comment: in islam ‘niyya’, literally translating to ‘intent’, has to be ‘absolved’ of ‘evil’ thought before any action is committed. In other words, if you were to give out food to stray animals or the homeless in your area, your intent HAS to be that you’re doing an action to ‘please god’ and that you’re only doing this in servitude of his command (to feed those in need), *not* merely out of the goodness or virtue of your heart. There is a fundamental distinction there to be made. You’re only a ‘good’ human if you follow god’s word by reframing your intentions to being in servitude of him, you’re not a good human if your intention is to alleviate the pain and misery of the poor but not to serve the supposed god. In islam you have to declare ‘niyya’ before some acts of worship as well, like fasting and praying. This concept of intention is entirely extrinsic to the idea of intentional living and mindful thinking.
“you’re not a good human if your purpose was to only alleviate the pain and not to serve the god” Look, i really get what you mean, but thats not necessarily what’s meant in islam. I feel bad for animals and help them because i really do feel their pain and dont want them to suffer, it is to alleviate their pain. And that niyyah is okay to have in islam, because to have a good heart and help those in need is in of itself worship of Allah. And if you’re a muslim, you KNOW that helping is worship and will get you to heaven. so when you help an animal out of the goodness of your heart, you also know that you’re doing it for Allah and that this action is encouraged by him. And thats what defines us as muslims, is that the good actions are not only out of the goodness of your heart, but theyre also forms of worship. The whole point of Niyyah is to not do something for yourself, but to do it for Allah and admit that he sees everything you do. So for example, if i see an animal suffer, ill help it because i want this animal not to suffer anymore, but i also do it because im a muslim. I dont help an animal saying “this is solely for Allah” i also have the intention to really help that animal so its not for Allah only as well. I don’t know if im wrong to have that niyyah, I think of Allah in all my intentions, but he’s also not the only one i think about in my intention. If that makes sense.
I love using the iPad + keyboard combo for study too! especially the split screen when practising questions or making flashcards.
I'm so excited for your uni journey and all of your future endeavours!!!..🥺✨🩷🫶

Intention is extremely important in Islam. I like how you are asking yourself why you are doing things.
