  • Ash veneered mdf bookshelf made so that the books in the boxes could come out and become a bit more convenient.
    Measurement: whole thing approx. 240cm tall and 285 ish wide
    Mdf 18mm veneered mdf
    The sizes for the shelves are: 25cm deep and 46 wide and 36 tall
    (with the one on the right side a bit shorter because i did not want to do the math, so I just made the last pieces to fit the remaining length to the wall

    This is a beautiful bookshelf. And the video is perfect, is shows all the steps how to make it. I am in the same situation like you were, i.e. I have boxes full of books, and a wall which I want to have bookshelf like this. Searching on UA-cam brought me here. I think you should put measurements in the description. I found it in the comments 25cm depth x 30 x 60 but I had to search to find it, it wasn't obvious.

    Fits well into my space, I painted the back green. It's very easy to customize just the back if that's something you want to do. I would suggest sanding it first before painting, I got a little impatient. The shelves ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxM8H4CjCb79vzeyvgaFMdzmLm88oVFPMkare pretty small so keep that in mind if you're going to have it horizontal that some books won't fit. I like the snug look that it has. Good small shelf if you don't have much space, but not too small. Simple to put together, though you'll need your own tools, a screwdriver and a mallet/hammer, it's easiest to do with another person.

    Nice. Great video. You guys definitely should have stained it before assembly though. Would have looked alot nicer, but overall the construction and work done was fantastic. I've always loved wood working, but being a certified FAA A&P(Aircraft Maintenance Technician) I actually ended up specializing in sheet metal working which soon became a new passion for me. Bending, forming, driving rivets, and so on. So I became really interested in sheet metal and composite materials(graphite, carbon fiber, fiber glass, Kevlar, and so on) work as well, overall(primarily aluminum and steel). Theirs so much more you can do with metal and composite materials that one cannot do with wood, it's astonishing. One thing that most individuals find interesting though is that the FAA still requires an individual to take a short (I think it was like 12 hours) course still on Aircraft wood structures as part of our training in order to become an aircraft maintenance technician even though wooden airframes on Aircraft are nearly obsolete.The only down side is, one must have the necessary equipment and tools which can be very costly, in order to perform any sheet metal or composite work at home.

    • @FlokrollProjects
      @FlokrollProjects  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you very much for the feedback. It is not often i use stain, it needs to fit in with the enviroment a bit more. The light ash color is easier to mix with things (in my opinion :D) Sheetmetal work is so awesome. I have wanted to try it out for a long time, but as you say, you do need a bit of know-how and a lot of tools :D

    Hey Stan, when I was hanging cabinets in my shop I had an occasion to hang two side by side like the two in your shed. I turned the left one upside down so the the door was hung on the left side making them open in the center. The shelves were uneven between the two of them but who would notice, or care? I loved the acorn bit. Kids! 2:52

    Hvordan har det gått med avstanden fra peisen til bokhylla? Og du har laget sporene til hyllene på hver side på samme sted i de vertikale bordene, har dette påvirket stabiliteten?

    • @FlokrollProjects
      @FlokrollProjects  3 роки тому +2

      Avstanden har gått helt bra, selv når peisen brenner for fult merker jeg ingen varme ved den ytterste hylleplaten.
      Jeg lagde sporene på samme sted (tror man kan se det i videoen når jeg banker den sammen) måtte være litt varsom når jeg flyttet platene rundt, men når de ble fylt av lim og tversgående plate ble de sterkere og stivere en før :D

      Ello. I made no plans for this. It is just vertical pieces with horizontal pieces glued in. I made the depth 25 cm (as i do with all bookcases). Just measure the height and width of where you want this and start ripping :D

    My fear is that l'll build something like this and then try to put it up and realize it's half an inch too wide lmao

      Hehe, same. I used an old trick, the last shelves are cut after i have measured all the other ones that i made. So they are a few cm shorterm you can almost see it in the video
