As the years have passed, I have come to the conclusion that this is definitely Asphyx peak masterpiece. A fucking monolith, totally balanced composition and production wise. And, oh, that snare...
All albums by this true band are worth listening to ...
This is a masterpiece of death metal
this is death/doom metal
@@dominikm9720 yes….like I said…
vocals are garbage
@@dominikm9720 whatever helps you sleep at night
fuck, i knew this very long song "depths of eternity" for 20 years but i didn't know the title neither the band (i heard at a french radio in 1994 and recorded it with an old K7 recorder!). i recoverd this old fusking K7 one month ago in my office and with shazam (thank you so much!!!!) i finally know the band and the title. So i bought it, at least, 20 years after, end of the mistery!!!!!
so good to ear, so good even 20 years after. I love: power, brutality and melody! and the sound of the bass drum and ride cymbal!
Same story with me and Back Into Eternity. 20 some years ago I traded a few tapes (yes, tapes) with someone on the internet and he sent a compilation of Death Metal bands with that song on it. The riffs from it go through my head regularly and I finally tracked it down to this album today. Huge weight off my Metal obsessed mind.
One of my fav records ever!
That's how I love my death metal! Dark, slow, brutal and sometimes fast and melodic.
this is death/doom
E. Daniels one of the best death metal guitars ever- much applause and beers
Soulburn absolutely kills
The Asphyx good movie too, hammer film, really neat, Google can wank off too
Thoughts of an atheist is a great track with guest guitarist, former member, great record, love Pols vox
Year after year, I return to this album as the heaviest and darkest I have ever heard. Amazing sound.

¡Thanks!
Thanks,man🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
One of my favorite albums ever. Their nailed in atmosphere here.
Stopped listening to metal in the mid 90's, so discovering this album for the first time ... Loved it from the very first note!
FANTASTIC album!! Even if I love traditional Asphyx, this is….a MASTERPIECE!!
masterpiece!
I love how this album really emphasizes the death/doom aspect, even more so than the first two.
they listened to Autopsy and said "hurr we can do that !!!"
never enough the good words for this dutch guys...each album of Asphyx is a gloomy shining seal of heavy mass deathmetal destruction _\,,/
a great classic.
brilliant lp- loved every second- last song is superb
Never too late bro!
Uno de los mejores discos, oscuro y sin gore
Great album ASPHYX is best band !!
Horns up!!! Great band!!
every song is a 10, asphyx for life
The Voice is so beautyfull !
Uno de los mejores álbumes de death metal que e oido en toda mi vida, una joya invaluable ♥️🇻🇪
Mein Gott, eine Brücke zwischen den Niederlanden, Schweden und England, was Death Metall angeht! Ich liebe es!
Grandísimo ron van pool
nunca habia oido esta banda ..nada en tanto tiempo de trayectoria...pero hoy revivo mi amor por el MetaL...
A true cult classic. Perfect in every way! As an funeral doom fan, i would even say that i prefer this album over any other Asphyx album! Yeah, that's how much i love this masterpiece.
So obscure and evil... I love it. This is how many Death Metal bands should sound like.
Classic death metal.!!!
A lot of people dislike this one due to the change of vocalist, but musically it's just as good as any other Asphyx and creates a perfect trilogy alongside The Rack and Last One on Earth. Eric Daniels was such a wicked guitarist, and Paul Baayens made a hell of a worthy successor.
Эх, всё так же классно заходит, хоть и было это 20 лет назад.
9 skulls, masterpiece of metal
Best Album ever (,until2019)
Nostalgic metal!!!!!!!!!!
classic
Ron von Pol’s vocals were the best imo.
Drops off in quality in its second half, but I'd say this is Asphyx's best album after The Rack.
last song is pure genius
lekker vet en strak....godver....
Grande asphyx
Ironically the albums they did without Martin van Drunen were their best. Especially this one and God Cries.
Death/Doom
obra maestra de asphix
Some parts are too slow that seems that the band will stop playing! kkk! But the songs are very heavy! Great Death Metal work! Bang your head!
Лично для меня Asphyx 1994г самый обалденный альбом.
som loko
There are people saying that this album is weak or it's classified as being the worst of Aphhyx's existence. I don't get it, for me this album is the best of their music. I love every inch and nook of this. There's a lot of variation, a lot of best quality doom, a lot of incredible drumming...but that's me
BeerThrower Glad to hear there are other people seeing what a gem is this
Maybe because it's way less Death than the two first albums, and their fanbase were mostly Death Metal fans
i love this album too
This was their best album ... PERIOD
@@davcn.4080 For me, their worst album is God Cries
God cries was great
I have no idea why the vocals on my vinyl of this album are like two octaves lower then this version.
🇦🇷🇦🇷🤘
45:15 daaaaaaaamn girl
til death rules
Death Metal🤘🖤🇵🇹
The vocals are kind of different form the usual? Maybe they had different vocalist back then.
@LILLIE ex Malignant vocalist
I think this is the one that was recorded or written 1st and then released 4th years later.
"Recorded in January and February, 1994 at Stage One Studio in Bühne, Germany." says the metal-archives.
the one I was thinking of was "Embrace the Death" recorded in '90 and released around '96 with Theo Loomans on the recording.
Is this the original cd I hate the reissue remastered one
34:34 ...
very underrated band. the germans show most countries how it's done.
They are Dutch, bro...
Timur Iskandarov
