Thanks to Kim Soo-hyun (am a huge fan), I discovered a talent that Korea should be so proud of: Hongki. And I've been scouring the vast world of internet to listen to his (and his band's, FT Island's) songs. And I gotta say, Hongki pulls the audience in not just because of his wide range (3 octaves) and those high notes that he effortlessly hits but, most importantly, also because he expresses real emotion with every note, with every word that the song practically comes alive. And in this age of autotune and precorded performances, we are so damn blessed that Hongki sounds way better live. And this performance? It's so full of love and longing that you'll probably forget you're single in the first place.
With Hongki singing, I will never have to look at the translation of the songs specially love songs. I can feel the emotion. This is one of my favorite love songs 😊 Jonghoon writes really good love songs and Hongki conveys the perfect emotion to these love songs. I will miss their tandem.
I still can't over his sorrowful soulful voice when his sing this song. I couldn't find other versed that give me the same felt. Each time I listened it still give me goosebumps suffocated feel, tears start fall. In QUIT, he sing like similar emotion but I feel frustrated anger and at last I want let go and move on. Only hong-ki sang can give me this kind of feeling
He sings it from the point of view of a woman, he said it hurts him to sing it because of the pain he knows that woman feels. He says it when they presented this song.
The way he sang it passionately was felt very strongly by whoever will hear it even without knowing the language BUT YOU Will CLEARLY UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE OF THE SONG THROUGH HOW HONGKI RELAY IT.
This performance is sooo gripping. It stopped me in my activity when I heard it and made me a fan. He was so young and it was so mature and heartbreaking. The declaration you can hear through his singing brings me back to listen often. I couldn't move on to another artist after this. Silly? Maybe. But I am somewhat new to ft island and Lee hong ki. Hope this translates well in other languages because I want to say thank you for uploading it.
