This is what house music is all about not this crap that is played today I still play this in my dj sets house music is a spiritual thing only house heads know this.
I can’t believe those born in ‘04 is 20 years old already! It was just yesterday, though it seems! Enjoy your adulthood and be ready for a bumpy ride along the way!! 😊
80"s and 90"s house music forever. For me, these timeless and wonderful classics will live on in my heart forever. To all the old school house heads still bumping these jams your taste is impeccable. Keep bumping these jams.
91...yeah good old times got my Super Nintendo in 92^^ The 90's where just the best! Well not all of it but life was good. And still to this day we "old" farts rock...don't we? 🤪🥳
It was the summer of 1991 and I was in the backseat of my sixteen-year-old cousin's Camaro. He had Hot 97 on the radio and this song was blasting. I was nearly thirteen and my terrified 40 year old mother was in the front seat...
It was 1989. They were a new group who was appearing at the Underground in NYC. They came out and the crowd looked at them side ways. They sang their first song and was booed. They held their heads up high and prepared for their next song. The beat started and they began to sing. The crowd was hyped and the party was officially turnt-up! I remember it like it was yesterday.
+Stephanie Angelique wow thank u for sharing. i wish i got to see them live i used to be obsessed with jomanda.... well b4 swv anyways. i still listen to their music and i classify them as the queens of house music :-)
NYC really never embraced the R&B Vocal House Jersey Sound during that time. It was still developing in 1989. However, in Newark, Jersey, at Club Zanzibar, they were our "En Vogue". Also, the pure "Club/House" scene in Newark was 99.99% Black so it was a little different from the multicultural House music venues in NYC. Don't get it wrong, Jersey was rough on vocalists, you betta sing on the stage at Zanzibar and Jomanda always rocked it for us.
It really all started with their hit “Make my body rock”! And then by the time this one came out Jomanda was primed and ready for the big time. This hit was all over the radio in L.A. and the clubs! It was so much fun dancing to this. Everyone was on that floor!
It’s just hard to believe and magical when I hear people say they were dancing to this in the club! Going to college it was nothing but hip hop and trap at the clubs😅😂
I have four 12 inch copies and I just bought a seven inch copy. This is how much I love this song!! I love mixing this record in my sets!! #ChicagoHouseMusic #ChiCityMyCity #HouseHead
Growing up in Africa, I only knew the Brenda Fassie version of this song "Ngiyakusaba" which was a massive hit that I still dance to today. Then this song came on my playlist and I was like whaaattt omg, I never knew Brenda's was a sample all this time. It's amazing to finally know about the original, such a great song!
My brother passed away about a year ago. I played this on the headphones I am now wearing for him. He'd lived with crerebral palsy all his life. This is one of the last songs he listened to before going into a coma and passing on the next day.. He loved it though, smiled. Tried a jig.
Damn, I was 10 years old when this song was on the radio everyday, gosh, such great memories of my childhood. So grateful that I've found this awesome groove! ♫
@@jerrardkhan4361 I'm not aware of such a mix on youtube but I do know of a mix that's out there with Jomanda/Brenda Fassie/Jennifer Lopez with same bassline if interested.

It reminds of The good ole NYC days when I was about 14 and they play this song so much along with so many other good house music.
