Why would Teddy do it? I know this video is old, but even 10 years ago Teddy was a huge star in his sport, a sport in which he’d won an Olympic gold and would go on to win 2 more. Why bother with MMA, a sport in which there are different promotions but no gold medal? He’s made plenty of money, he’s got sporting credibility by the sackload and I doubt his ego is troubled by what a striker may or may not do.
35 pounds isnt massive considering he has abit of body fat i think he could cut 10 pounds of fat off while keeping his muscle and 25 pounds could be cut
It actually bothers me how ignorant Dana white is. Guys like Artur Tayzmazov and teddy riner would destroy most his UFC heavyweights. They are trained only in one martial art yes , but they are competing against much higher competition. These guys dont get drunk the night before like some UFC fighters do. They are all max weight of super heavyweight and pure muscle at that. These guys are in GREAT shape. Cain valasquez would be a very good fight, and of course the elite strikers have a punchers chance before they are taken to the matt and grinded. They are bigger, in better shape, and are highly skilled martial artist.
