Army knew he would be there. They even taped purple cellophane over their phone flashlights so they could show purple lights so Jin would know army was present
As an Air Force retiree I’m proud of BTS for entering military service on their terms. This video/song just gets harder to watch/hear each time without being emotional. No other group cares for their fans as much as BTS does. If the other 6 members gift us a farewell for now song like this, we won’t be able to handle it. Lord help us all if they do!
i guess they would, on the street was released as a farewell from jhope to us. so i guess we'll get five more farewell songs when their time to enlist is near 😢

The crowd was chanting KIM Seokjin. They announced his song coming out before it was released and we knew he would be at the concert. Many ARMY bought tickets and sold out the concert 🎉. Thank you for this reaction 💜💜 (Chris was the news reporter on the TV in the MV) 💜💜💜
Just want to add that the concert would have been sold out either way. Coldplay usually sells out but i am so grateful for Army being there to support Jin all the way from Korea. The Army impact can also be seen at the movie screening. At my local theatre i already bought tix 3 weeks before Jins annoucement but the seats were literally empty, after Jins announcement movie tickets were bought by lots of Armys. We are awesome and support our boys in so many ways. As a coldplayer and army my heart is full

Chris’ speech about Jin & BTS already got me emotional, but when Jin stepped on that stage I lost it! I’ve never cried so much during a performance and I’ve rewatched this performance and played the M/V on loop countless times and I’m still crying. The feels hit so hard! This Coldplay x Jin performance has everything I love and Jin’s laugh 🥹 wrecks me every time. Chris is the best hyung! What a beautiful song and incredible send-off Chris and Coldplay gave to our beloved Jin 💜

I'm Argentinian and I was there (I still can't believe it). I travel 622 miles to Buenos Aires to see Jin. I had tickets for Coldplay's show but not for this night so I traveled before I have planned without tickets and thank God I got one there the day of the concert! I met so many Armys there. It was an insane day. Thanks for the reaction 💜

Jin is a huge Coldplay fan and he's the one who originally suggested and initiated the entire Coldplay collaboration, starting with BTS's cover of Fix You on MTV. This is truly his dream collaboration and I'm so happy they became friends. 💜
(If you listen to My Universe you might have trouble picking out Jin's voice because he duets with Chris for a lot of it and their voices sound insanely alike in it. And spoiler alert - Chris played the news reader in the Astronaut mv. 🤭)

when chris gives a little kiss to jin on the head my heart melt everytime. it’s so beautiful to see such a great friendship despite the age, language and cultural differences.
Jin is known as silver voice of kpop because of the critics praising him for his crystal clear voice . he is also the only belter of the group thats why you will see him belting more when it comes to higher notes.
Jin appearance was announced a few days before and Coldplay had a live broadcast in the theaters so I actually went to it. It was really special to watch. When BTS was in Washington to visit the White House some of the members got together with Chris. Their relationship is so special!

I am feeling all sorts when Jin stretched his arms out and "fly" across the stage. Chris waving him in is so symbolic on so many levels. Part of me also feel satisfied for the validation Jin can finally have in showing off his vocals. With non stop questions about lipsyncing and autotuning that a band like Coldplay WILL NEVER HAVE TO FACE. (Cameo: Chris Martin was the news anchor in the music video).

Oh wow, I am so so so much more thankful for Coldplay now for introducing the boys to you guys, I didn’t know that’s how you found out about them! I have immense respect for Chris, Guy, Jonny and Will not only because of the fantastic music they make but also because they’ve been so accommodating of the boys and so OPEN-MINDED to the experience. I’m sure you guys can tell but not many Western artists are ready to jump into collaborations with BTS because of the cultural and language barriers. Coldplay is one of the few who were courageous and just HUMAN enough to do that. As an Asian myself it really means a lot to see that barrier being broken down by them.
Apart from that, goodness, the Coldplay fandom has been so exceedingly nice 😢 I want to give them all a hug because they’ve been supporting us ARMYs so much whenever we have award shows and voting to do, and we make sure to do it in return for them! When My Universe happened we all started making friends with each other and passing our respective band’s content back and forth. Overall, I’m just so happy and grateful this collaboration happened and that we all get to witness it. It speak volumes about unity and acceptance- so much more than they think.

the astronaut actually was released a few hours before the concert (at 1:00 am local time) and the concert was like at 21:00, so armys had literally hours to learn the lyrics and they did a great job 😊 You should definetely check out more of the solos of the members 💜
The symbolism throughout the MV is pretty incredible if you know the meaning. The most noticeable one is that the little girl represents ARMY. Notice how he's very stoic until the end where he finds joy in playing with the girl. Black boxes in the crossword puzzles spells out "FOR ARMY" in braille and he fills in the words "FAMILY" "ASTRONAUT", etc in the puzzle. The braille on his neck spells "I LOVE YOU." The guitar on the chair is the guitar that was gifted to him by Chris when they met in New York. The Coldplay merch/posters in the bedroom. The news guy on TV is Chris Martin. Yes he made a cameo in the MV. A lot of scenes in the MV are direct references to scenes from various Coldplay MVs. The truck at the end represents the one in "the most beautiful moment in life era." Real ARMY will know. There's a shot in the MV where all the members of BTS is shot in and around a pickup truck. But in The Astronaut, Jin is shot driving away alone in the truck, symbolizing he's going off the the military alone without the other members. Objects in the room represent the members of BTS: RM is the books, Suga is guitar, Hobi, camera, V - Vinyls, JK - Radio, ARMY - Solar System. Nothing is as it seems in BTS MVs as it's usually incredibly deep and hides a crap ton of symbolisms.
The braille on his neck is say "ARMY"

I was there 😭 No puedo ni explicar la energía que hubo ese día. Nos enteramos con pocos días de antelación, casi una semana antes del show, que Jin venía, y hablamos de un concierto que estaba AGOTADO hasta que agregaron una platea y tickets extras, y muchísimas Army pudieron comprar ❤️🩹 yo fui una de esas! Tenía entradas para ver a Coldplay el 1ero de noviembre, pero fue inevitable no ir el 28 sabiendo que sería uno de sus últimos conciertos. El video NO HACE JUSTICIA !! a lo mucho que cantamos, tuvimos tan solo horas para aprendernos la canción, toda la fila eran armys practicando y entregando las lyrics para que se escuche lo más fuerte posible, y lo logramos. El show fue MAGNÍFICO, coldplay es una banda que sin dudas es de las mejores. Y tener por fin a un BTS en Argentina después de AÑOS fue algo que jamás pensamos que iba a ocurrir. Jin se fue amado del país, le dimos absolutamente todo de nosotras, espero y nos reencontremos muy pronto!

I was there. It was the most beautiful day of my life, and watching people react to this amazing few minutes that ment the word to me and all army makes me so emotional. Thank you for reacting to this and for being so respectful and supportive. We really love Jin and BTS, so so much.

To Summer's comment when Chris & Jin hugged, that Jin is like a little brother -- that's not only perceptive, but literally true! In Korea, there is a specific word for males with older male friends that must be used to show respect: 'hyung', which means 'older brother'. Jin is the eldest in BTS, therefore all the other members must address him with this title, and in other BTS content you'll hear members constantly saying, 'Jin-hyung', or attaching 'hyung' to the end of the name of any BTS member older than any other. Jungkook, the youngest, must use it for all six of the other members (he can refer to any member simply as 'hyung', or say 'Suga-hyung'; 'Hobi-hyung', etc...JK also often instead jokingly & affectionately calls Jimin 'Jimin-sshi' which means 'Mr. Jimin').
But there is also a word for an older male to use to refer to a younger male friend: 'dongsaeng', meaning 'little brother' - but this does not need to be attached to the person's name because older ppl are higher in hierarchy and don't need to show the same language level of respect to younger ppl. So Jin just calls all his younger BTS members by their name only, with no 'dongsaeng' title attached.
Jin released screenshots of his text thread with Chris Martin when Chris asked him to come to Argentina to perform. Chris called Jin 'my dongsaeng' in his message...it melted ARMYs hearts that Chris already sees Jin as a little brother and that he showed respect to the Korean language by using the Korean word for their relationship

Coldplay will give 10 concerts here in Argentina. Jin was on 28th (same day the song was released). The tickets for all the concerts released 1 week earlier, and it was impossible to get one for 28th. My daughter went to see Coldplay on 26th... And the day after we saw Jin was there watching the concert the same day

It was widely advertised that Jin would be there to sing that song. The stadium was sold out with Army. It was also aired live in 3,500 movie theaters across 80 countries, also filled with Army. Jin flew all that way just to sing one song but look at how much Army turned out just to hear him sing that one goodbye song. Popular opinion that Coldplay is much loved and appreciated by Army.

Jin is such a sincere person and that's a huge reason why ARMY cherishes him so much. I recommend listening to his other solo songs like Yours, Awake, and Epiphany!! Such amazing songs were you can hear the power of his vocals. Also be prepared, RM is dropping an album soon with a collab with Pharell! Army appreciates your love towards our boys.
I hope you read this just an FYI.... Jin actually flew for 36-40 hours to sing one song. The first part of his trip was a 13 hour or so flight to the USA. Then he had a several hour layover. Then he took another plane another 17 or so hours to Argentina. He was just on Suchwita with Suga explaining his trip. He said he did it for Army before going into the military. He said I'd he had more songs he would have either rented a place like RM did fir his indigo album, but since it was one song he called Chris Martin and asked if he could sing his song at their concert.

Army (fans) knew Jin was going to Argentina The company had made an announcement and anytime BTS travels there’s a lot of press at the airport taking pictures when they’re leaving Korea. and in Argentina they were people waiting there for several days camped out at the airport they had to take him out of a hidden door because he didn’t have that much security since it was just him by himself he only had minimum security normally they travel with a lot of security. There were also people camped out outside the stadium where Coldplay was going to have the concert hoping to see Jin drive pass them Argentina had to give Jin police protection to get them from one point to the other because of how many people were there. Jin posted a apology to fans on Weverse because for security reasons he had to exit in a side door at the airport. The airport was completely packed of people waiting for him in Argentina .
Yes but after that awful incident in the airport, army learn and they were so respecful the remaining days seokjin was staying in Argentina.
You have to see the goofiness of WWH Jin! He was the reason why I became an army! It started with their cover of Fix you of coldplay and obviously it’s how their friendship started. Jin has a very soft spot in Chris’ heart. We all saw it from this very special performance. I just wish Jin the best and will wait for all of the 7 amazing guys who captured my heart!💜💜💜

Jin is such a considerate person. Thinking about others first or than yourself was a very selfless and greatest thing that people could ever do and that's Jin from the very beginning of his journey being an idol until now. He never change and the other members of BTS as well.. So that a lot of armys love them so much.. Cris and Jin actually had this conversation on Twitter, and Jin was invited to perform it in Argentina, He said he will make it happen. He was seen watching the concert on the 27 after he arrived. so ARMY was there and many watched it in cinemas all over the world as well. The song was released the same day Jin sang at the concert.

The guitar in the MV on the chair in Jin's room was given to him by Chris after they completed "My Universe" recording. It has been said that it was Chris's favorite. Chris is the newscaster in "The Astronaut".
He said in the behind-the-scenes video that he was REALLY nervous, which is why he didn't smile much on stage. Bless him 🥺❤

Fans near the end were chanting "Kim Seokjin" and Jin said he would sign the paperwork for military service as soon as he arrives to Korea from Argentina. Ughhh. And yea, the mess up was my favorite part of this performance because it's so raw and unrehearsed.
I am so grateful for that little “mess up.” Because of it, we got to hear Jin laugh and see him smile so genuinely on stage for the last time until he comes back. It’s a moment I will hold onto until he comes back to us

They had organised for the concert to be LIVE in cinemas across the world 🌎 and I went with my ARMY friends that day in London 🇬🇧 Dressed up in our BTS merch and made gifts to give to new ARMYS we met ( it’s an ARMY thing to exchange small gift,snacks and handmade items at any BTS event ) and even transformed our ARMY bombs in to Wootteo ( Jins mascot for this song ) and OMG. Coldplay was insane ! The concert was so AMAZING / Mind blowing even in the cinema !!! and when Jin came on, me and all the ARMYS in the cinema LOST IT 😭. The place was flooded with tears. So many emotions, grateful Coldplay was willing to share their stage, happy and proud to see Jin, seeing all the ARMYS in the audience in Argentina with Jin signs and chanting his name etc The whole day was amazing. I’m ARMY not just because BTS I’m ARMY because of ARMY. No one is a stranger. Everyone is welcome. Everyone is family. And I loved sharing this day with them. We are so proud of Jin and all the members. Jhope and lollapaloza, This and JK and the World Cup solo stages ! I can’t wait to see what the others members do. Soy una Army de Argentina 💜 el 20 de octubre Jin anunció que iba a viajar más de 40 horas para venir al show de Coldplay, un show que ya estaba casi vendido, pero ARMY en 8 días hizo hasta lo imposible para poder ver a Jin antes de su servicio militar, aun en la peor economía que estamos viviendo, viajaron de todo el país para verlo, muchas fueron estafadas en la reventa de entradas, incluso consiguieron entradas una vez el show ya había empezado. En solo una semana las fanbases de Argentina prepararon banners, una pantalla en la avenida 9 de julio promocionando The Astronaut, incluso juntaron $ para comprarle la camiseta alternativa de nuestra selección (que es morada💜) y se la hicieron llegar a través del staff. En fin, aunque las ARMY que habían allí no eran ni un tercio del total del público, en menos de 24hs se aprendieron la canción y cantaron y gritaron el nombre de "KIM SEOKJIN" con todas sus fuerzas. El mejor publico para los conciertos, especialmente de rock es el argentino. Yo no me puedo morir sin regresar un dia a Bs As a un concierto. Ahora vivo en Europa, pero si hubiera estado en mi pais Ecuador, hubiera ido al concierto a como de lugar. Amé la presentación de Jin. Ojalá así la gente prejuiciosa haya visto la calidad vocal de ese chico. Estoy harta de leer gente burlarse de ellos y su música (Y eso que soy ARMY hace un año). Que lindo que los ARMY de Argentina hayan logrado hacer tantas cosas. Me hubiera gustado que puedo recorrer más la ciudad que es hermosa, y que hubiera comido la mejor carne del mundo como tanto le gusta.
No puedo evitar tener una sensación de vacio por su partida, como que algo se queda suspendido e inconcluso. Imagino que así me voy a sentir cuando le pase algo a Charly, porque así me sentí cuando le pasó a Cerati.

I'm a kind of a person who doesn't cry easily but when I saw this performance.. Witnessing how lovingly Chris introduced Jin, how Jin ran to Chris to give him a hug and THE VERY "I LOVE YOU" freaking got me tears and cried so miserably that even my brother gave me a "chill bruh" look lol (He's an Army too). The realization of the fact that them joining military ain't a joke and all the 6 years I've spent with BTS suddenly came flashing in my eyes that even tears couldn't wash away

This was so amazing!! Chris/Coldplay's relationship with BTS/Jin is so genuine!! The joy & pride he showed; Jin's obvious comfort & joy, esp knowing how shy he is, & being alone! Can you imagine making your solo debut with Coldplay as your back ground singer/band?!
They were chanting "Kim Seokjin", his name! Folks knew a week or so ahead of his performance, it was announced. And yes, the end was adlibbed, Im so grateful Chris saw he was more relaxed & pulled him down for the encore!! They both started to sing different verses after the first, is why they laughed, since it was spontaneous; but yes, it was one of my fav moments. Warching the two of them is so wholesome it's ridiculous, lol. Both bands are true artists, who love music & performing & their fans, & making the world better; I'm so glad they found each other! It gives Coldplay new perspectives, & BTS wise seniors who've stayed together for as long as some of them have been alive! Watching the behind the scenes of My Universe was super sweet as well. Chris mentions them in almost every interview, it's so cute!

Oh, & the light show at Coldplay concerts is lighted wristbands. There were some Army bombs, but they weren't linked in. 💜
He's so good for putting emotion to the song that he sang that it breaks my heart everytime i listen to it. His voice conveys emotion so well. It can make you cry and feel comfort. He makes me feel the song every single time.

Jin tiene una voz extraordinaria, él es el belting king, el silver voice, su falseto es increíble, tiene la voz más cristalina de todos, sus notas bajas son buenas a pesar de ser tenor, su voz es muy limpia y llega a notas altas con gran potencia (como su triple nota alta en Crystal swon o en Epiphany, Dionysus, etc..) a pesar de que Jimin tiene el registro más alto, Jin puede igualar sus notas, aveces con mayor potengia que muchos, el es un tenor lírico increíble muchas veces infravalorado, de hecho muchas de las notas altas en varias canciones son de él, amo sus reacciones💜, tal vez no han prestado mucha atención a Jin porque casi todos al iniciar quedamos fascinados por el gran talento de los otros vocalistas, pero créanme que deben descubrir el tesoro que tiene Jin en su hermosa voz💜 porfavor dediquen una serie de videos para Jin si pueden, como despedida ahora que se va 💜

Jin has said a few times he doesnt have friends within the music industry , I think thats the introvert in him , so I am happy that he and Chris have a very special bond. Chris is like his big brother in the industry and protective. You can see the how happy and proud Chris was of Jin. It was nice to see Jin step out of his comfort zone ( BTS ) and do something completely on his own. Yes he has some solo songs but they are still considered part of bts. Army is definitely proud of him right now and it was an amazing song and ill see you later song for army because he loves army and we love him. Oh and a side note about the gorilla experiment, I did it with a work workshop and yeah we had to count how many passes the group of people did with the basket ball. Out of the whole class I was the only one who caught the gorilla and got the number of passes right. The class though I had lost my mind, at first when no one got it I thought okay maybe I was seeing things but no I was right. Anyway great reaction guys loved it.
Chris really love Jin. He really really adore him. He even gifted his precious guitar to Jin when they were working together for my universe song.
And yeah. Jin is such a humble and precious soul. You have lot more to discover about him. Next birthday is also his.

Totally agree with you, I really loved when singers/ performers really having fun on stage, and that's one of the reason I enjoy watching BTS performs. they are so chaotic, but they looked really happy to the point it looks like they could fly on stage, so bright, especially in concerts :)

Jin’s appearance was announced by Coldplay on Oct 20 for the concert on the 28th which was already planned for the Argentina leg of their tour. Army bought up any remaining tickets and there are fans of both bands that already had tickets. There were lots of Army ready to greet him at the airport ( something that is against Army fan club rules) but he took the VIP exit for safety reasons. It was also shown live and delayed at movie theaters around the world. Probably also in your neighborhood. You can see the audience has Coldplay wristbands that light up. Like Kpop light sticks (and Army Bombs) they are linked to Bluetooth and controlled by the concert directors.
