Great as usual. I hope that S3 isn’t set here in the U.S. For me it would loose the “old world” luster ( dare I say sheen) that shows set in Britain have.
The good thing is, we already know it's gonna be the last season, so even if all episodes come out at once, we can still spread them as we wish, with no rush to get the views asap to influence renewal. We just need to make sure to avoid all of the internet 😅.

The stacks of documents and archives seen in Hell refer to the demon Furfur. I'd like to point out to you that in the first season Michael Sheen's name in the opening was on the left while David Tennant's was on the right, just as Aziraphale is always Crowley's right while Crowley is always on Aziraphale's left. This thing in the Season 2 opening is different; David's name is on the left while Michael's is on the right, as if to signify that they are no longer in balance, a prelude to what will happen in the last minutes of episode 6, season 2.
but no... I never understood placing one name before the other in season 1. the theatre has long gotten around who gets top billing when two actors have both equal parts. placing one name above and the other first-equal billing. I remember laverne and Shirley did that, in staged that came up. I think the name placement was in error. and a big error. they fixed that in season two. just like feeding the ducks. we got told dont feed the ducks bread in season two and also what one should feen them.

I'm visually impaired, so the opening always drives me nuts because it's was hard to see. There's just so much going on and whatnot. The contrast is dark, and it's very busy. I understand things are done on purpose and are creative choices, but I feel left behind. I'm glad someone has shed some light on it. I personally have a love-hate relationship with Easter Eggs, you know, with the whole not seeing them coming, lol.

I'm pretty sure that in the blitz scene, the road sign isn't a route one, its looks like a thirty mile per hour speed limit sign you'd see on the side of a road in Britain marking a place that has lamppost- so maybe that's are hint of soho being the bus destination?

I have struggled to find many of the things in the opening sequence since I first learned that it was filled with easter eggs. I have found a few on my own but now I will know what to look for. I have to admit that I’m often distracted by the music and the urge to do a waltz.. (not really, but I do love the beat to a waltz 😊)

I tried to watch the intro to look for clues about season 3 but I'd just noticed Jesus (and his advance in the procession), the plane (this detail intrigues me...) and little things that are easy to see. It's interesting to see all the clues pointing to a future season set in the United States. I'd also like one episode a week: to get the most out of this final season and above all to be able to wait with the fandom. I feel that making all the episodes available at once deprives fandoms of that 'old-fashioned' experience. Thanks again for your work. 🙂

It reads as Metatron or possibly God observing the Ineffable Husbands' actions during the Apocalypse lull to me. Also, could the separating bridge actually be two separate bridges? Same, I am not sure where you mean when referring to the stary figure? I'd like to go take a look! Aziraphale's half of the bridge has the same cross beams and the same Golden Gate 4 opening suspension as the other half. They look identical to me. What makes you think they are different, perhaps I'm missing something!

@@Sendarya Does the Golden Gate Bridge not have a matching mini-arch on the other (Aziraphale's) side? There are differences on the splitting undersides, too. I'm no expert in bridges, but it seems like they would mirror when the "landscape" allows for it. For the figure, it's more of a light/cloud shape of a head and shoulder. I only mentioned the stars to indicate the waay-back of the shots (from about 7:49-9:59), since many of the easter eggs are in the mid- to foreground range.
I think the flirty little space moment was supposed to be representative of them finally beggining to understand and communicate explicitly what they mean to eachother (Aziraphale inviting Crowley to dance, Crowley's Ritz date plan), only for it to be ripped away in the blink of an eye, leaving them seperated and disoriented in the conflict to come 🥲
regarding the bus, we have St Paul's Cathedral in the background and the Windmill theatre (Soho) in the foreground to the right, meaning we (the viewer) are looking roughly East and the bus is pointing North, maybe slightly North-east. This rules out the iconic London locations that immediately came to mind (Berkeley Square, the Ritz, Mayfair). I then realised the answer may possibly be staring me right in the face on Google maps... Angel, the tube station!
I first watched the first season of Good Omens while in the midst of being ill with covid. It didn't make much impact. It took me ages to watch the video bc I devoured every scene and I loved looking for Gabriel. So much effort put into this intro by the makers, thanks for dissecting it for us!! Lovely job as always! Btw the poster for "A companion to owls" looks a lot like the title sequence to "The life of Brian" to me. Which is not too far-fetched, I guess, with Terry Gilliam having done the intro and, of course, the whole story setting of The life of Brian.
Finally got a chance to watch this full breakdown. From my perspective...hard to say anything about season 3 because when they made these it was still in Neil's brain - whether totally his or stuff he and Terry were talking about. I agree...it would be nice if season 3 came out one at a time. I'll still likely only watch one episode at a time, week by week regardless. Yes, I'm that person. I'll have to avoid social media on Good Omens in the meantime. 🙂 But, I was successful with the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special and the Christmas special so it can be done. LOL. Thanks Sendarya for putting all this together - its a lot of work.
You did not mention the turnip 😄, which is also referenced in Aziraphale's magic trick. It's in the scene where there's a rabbit rain. The acknowledgements written on the chair, and 'The Crow Roads' is mentioned twice. I read an idea from someone else that it's because there are two books in season 2: one with a hardcover (Gabriel putting it on the bookshelf) and the second with a paper cover (Crowley gives it to Muriel ) :)
I have to ask: has anyone mentioned the ballerina, who looks as if she would be in a child's jewelry box? It's at the very right of the screen towards the bottom at the end of opening sequence. Also, Nina has a small pair of ballet slippers hanging from the open/closed sogn hook on GMCOGMD front door. it's gotta be important for S.3, yes? Thanks!

I knew about the shoes on Nina's door (That will be in a future vid) but I missed the ballerina in the credits! So, well spotted. One of Powell and Pressburger's most famous movies is The Red Shoes, which is both about a ballet, and contains a full ballet sequence. There are a few other hidden references to this movie around the record shop, as well. Apparently, Neil and Douglas just hid dozens of Powell and Pressburger easter eggs everywhere!
I have definitely seen an interview with Maggie and Nina ( the actors, for the release of season 2), where they were pointing out all the Powell and Pressburger references : the miniature ballet slippers were for 'The Red Shoes' with Moira Shearer, an amazing film, with themes of fairy-tales and duty and sacrifice and... destruction, lol. The 30 is a speed limit sign. Could the bus thing be that it’s literally pointing upwards when the plane is crashing downwards. ‘Wings for victory’ maybe indicating that the Angel/s will win out in the end (hopefully meaning Aziraphale, Muriel and Jim’s ilk)
As for angels, the wheel with eyes is a throne not a cherub. Cherubs have four wings covered with eyes (or four wings for each face), four arms, hooves like brass (sometimes with four legs fused into one), and four heads. Human, bull, lion, and eagle. _What_ were these people on when they thought this up? In short, they look like Lovecraftian nightmares.
I saw a video about a month ago of Neil Gaiman being interviewed coming out of a movie theatre (I think) and he was talking about where the story would've gone if Terry and he had carried on. He said it would probably be set in evangelical United States. I got the impression it was an older video. Maybe that's the reference of Auld Lang Syne with Crowley in US and Azi in Heaven. I have looked everywhere trying to find that video but it's gone. I'll keep trying to find it.

Since she helped Crowley get to heaven once, heaven isn't going to fall for that twice. Muriel will NOT be allowed to use the elevator again. With no elevator, there's only the much slower stairway option, and the gate guardian, St. Peter. Actually, now that I remember it, I think in Season 1 they used an escalator to heaven.

It wasn’t long before it got interesting: “The author (of Revelation)…sees a scroll on which is written God’s secret plan for the end of the world,” and then “the celestial figure who reveals the divine plan for the end of the world is variously called “one like unto the Son of Man,” the Son of God,” “the Spirit,” and “the Lamb.” Maybe the figure of Jesus moves up in the line in the credits because He has The Plan.

Kindly do I have to disagree, and hope that the episodes all come out at once. I love easter eggs and picking things over too, but the title sequence I found largely inaccessible: the art style is so murky, jagged and jagged, and has things hidden simply Too Small, not to mention moves SO fast and trying to pause things accurately on Amazon is frankly a nightmare. I'm young (enough), I have damn good eyesight too. These title sequences were just too f*in' hard to see!!! Which sucks cos so much work obviously went into them. (also, lovingly, from the UK: that "30" is a speed limit sign ♥)

With all these Crowley and Jesus parallels, it would be fun if they were hinting towards them being friends or some other sort of connection. Hi! I love your videos and I wanted to ask your opinion on something. When We see Crowley before the fall in season 2, his eyes are actually normal or just Tennent's eyes, after the fall tho we see his yellow snakes (which actually seem particularly strong on Eden but mellow out as the years go by). Any thoughts on the snake eyes and how they came about?
In Discworld,, shapeshifters cannot change their eyes. Some angles have different eyes, as do some demons (Ligur and Gabriel, for example). Why? To make them stand out from the rest, I suspect. But Neil also said that Crowley's eyes being ALL yellow in the garden, and then only his iris being yellow later is on purpose. So, there is a reason, but he's not telling.
Sendarya, wow, I found this in a document of mine somehow. I wanted to respond to something but don't remember what. So, my comment: Why did Gabriel come to Aziraphale? I think it was because of Beelzebub, @Sendarya, it has to be. During their meetings they both planned this all out should something happen to him and/or her. Like a mind wipe. Maybe the fly didn't just store things, it had to be programmed with many contingency plans. I think Gabriel & Beelzebub programmed the fly with "wake prompts" (like Alexa) that would help whoever he/she was with to help him/her till they found each other. While Gabriel expected and programmed for Aziraphale. I don't believe he would have been expecting Crowley. So maybe there's a hidden message there? Or, please, explain why this is not possible. I am still new to this type of discussion. Thank you.
I know it's silly of me but, since the second coming is about Jesus re-appearing on the Earth to make things right, I'd LOVE to see Jesus' second coming with a good cleaning of Heaven's and Hell's hierarchies on His part, as He did in the Temple. He would put things straight again, the Love Revolution could begin and the two ineffable ones would fly away together at last. But, again, I know it's silly.

A prediction based on the title sequence, since:
- it is established that it contains a lot of S3 hints;
- Azi and Crowley together have the ability to do a powerful miracle
- Heaven & Hell's ultimate goal is to have a battleground to settle "whose gang is best" as Adam put it
My prediction, as hinted by the sequence where Azi and Crowley created a planet, is that our Power Couple will perform a massive miracle to create Earth 2.0--a copy of Earth where Heaven & Hell can have their War for centuries, while the Ineffable Husbands live quietly in the original Earth, saving everyone in it.
This might be God's ineffable plan too: having Earth saved by the power of love.

I have struggled to find many of the things in the opening sequence since I first learned that it was filled with easter eggs. I have found a few on my own but now I will know what to look for. I have to admit that I’m often distracted by the music and the urge to do a waltz.. (not really, but I do love the beat to a waltz 😊)

Thanks for this video! I tried to watch the intro to look for clues about season 3 but I'd just noticed Jesus (and his advance in the procession), the plane (this detail intrigues me...) and little things that are easy to see.
It's interesting to see all the clues pointing to a future season set in the United States.
I'd also like one episode a week: to get the most out of this final season and above all to be able to wait with the fandom. I feel that making all the episodes available at once deprives fandoms of that 'old-fashioned' experience.

No mention of the person outlined in the starry background between the two theater shots? It reads as Metatron or possibly God observing the Ineffable Husbands' actions during the Apocalypse lull to me. Also, could the separating bridge actually be two separate bridges? Aziraphale's side is different from Crowley's.

Aziraphale's half of the bridge has the same cross beams and the same Golden Gate 4 opening suspension as the other half. They look identical to me. What makes you think they are different, perhaps I'm missing something!
@@broccoli2572 In this video, it would be from 7:49-9:58. Though I spotted a couple more-complete outline figures within the magic theater shots. Don't know if they're connected. The one I initially spotted is just a head and shoulder, at center-back stage, made more of cloud than stars.
@@Sendarya Does the Golden Gate Bridge not have a matching mini-arch on the other (Aziraphale's) side? There are differences on the splitting undersides, too. I'm no expert in bridges, but it seems like they would mirror when the "landscape" allows for it.
For the figure, it's more of a light/cloud shape of a head and shoulder. I only mentioned the stars to indicate the waay-back of the shots (from about 7:49-9:59), since many of the easter eggs are in the mid- to foreground range.

I think the flirty little space moment was supposed to be representative of them finally beggining to understand and communicate explicitly what they mean to eachother (Aziraphale inviting Crowley to dance, Crowley's Ritz date plan), only for it to be ripped away in the blink of an eye, leaving them seperated and disoriented in the conflict to come 🥲
regarding the bus, we have St Paul's Cathedral in the background and the Windmill theatre (Soho) in the foreground to the right, meaning we (the viewer) are looking roughly East and the bus is pointing North, maybe slightly North-east. This rules out the iconic London locations that immediately came to mind (Berkeley Square, the Ritz, Mayfair). I then realised the answer may possibly be staring me right in the face on Google maps... Angel, the tube station!

Btw the poster for "A companion to owls" looks a lot like the title sequence to "The life of Brian" to me. Which is not too far-fetched, I guess, with Terry Gilliam having done the intro and, of course, the whole story setting of The life of Brian.

Finally got a chance to watch this full breakdown. From my perspective...hard to say anything about season 3 because when they made these it was still in Neil's brain - whether totally his or stuff he and Terry were talking about. I agree...it would be nice if season 3 came out one at a time. I'll still likely only watch one episode at a time, week by week regardless. Yes, I'm that person. I'll have to avoid social media on Good Omens in the meantime. 🙂 But, I was successful with the Doctor Who 60th anniversary special and the Christmas special so it can be done. LOL. Thanks Sendarya for putting all this together - its a lot of work.

The acknowledgements written on the chair, and 'The Crow Roads' is mentioned twice. I read an idea from someone else that it's because there are two books in season 2: one with a hardcover (Gabriel putting it on the bookshelf) and the second with a paper cover (Crowley gives it to Muriel ) :)

One of Powell and Pressburger's most famous movies is The Red Shoes, which is both about a ballet, and contains a full ballet sequence. There are a few other hidden references to this movie around the record shop, as well. Apparently, Neil and Douglas just hid dozens of Powell and Pressburger easter eggs everywhere!
I have definitely seen an interview with Maggie and Nina ( the actors, for the release of season 2), where they were pointing out all the Powell and Pressburger references : the miniature ballet slippers were for 'The Red Shoes' with Moira Shearer, an amazing film, with themes of fairy-tales and duty and sacrifice and... destruction, lol. Hope this sheds some light?!..

“Wings for victory” could mean heaven or maybe demons and angels alike (they all have wings) and the bus could be going down to hell or just a bad place in general (“ heaven and hell are toxic” -Anthony j Crowley)
I think with the bus it might be it’s going to hell. I think there’s a phrase “we’re on a bus to hell” that means we’re in trouble.
For the number 30 bus, it looks like it starts (or ends) in Mayfair? That's where Crowley's old flat is, so maybe that's something? 🧐

As for angels, the wheel with eyes is a throne not a cherub. Cherubs have four wings covered with eyes (or four wings for each face), four arms, hooves like brass (sometimes with four legs fused into one), and four heads. Human, bull, lion, and eagle. _What_ were these people on when they thought this up? In short, they look like Lovecraftian nightmares.

I saw a video about a month ago of Neil Gaiman being interviewed coming out of a movie theatre (I think) and he was talking about where the story would've gone if Terry and he had carried on. He said it would probably be set in evangelical United States. I got the impression it was an older video. Maybe that's the reference of Auld Lang Syne with Crowley in US and Azi in Heaven. I have looked everywhere trying to find that video but it's gone. I'll keep trying to find it.
Can we make a petition to have season 3 released slowly? I know a lot of us want it released weekly, or even in a few drops. But does Amazon know?? If we get the fandom to sign our desires, maybe we’ll get what we want!

I wonder if the "Stairway to Heaven" might be a wee bit literal here. I think Muriel has been defrocked (and hasn't realized it yet). Since she helped Crowley get to heaven once, heaven isn't going to fall for that twice. Muriel will NOT be allowed to use the elevator again. With no elevator, there's only the much slower stairway option, and the gate guardian, St. Peter. Actually, now that I remember it, I think in Season 1 they used an escalator to heaven.

Good question, I guess it was the dress color, that yellow-gold. Ms Sandwich had a black sequin dress. Apparently, the figures are the animators wearing the actual costumes, so maybe they mixed and matched the Ball costume, there

A while back, I came across this title “A History of the End of the World: How the Most Controversial Book in the Bible Changed the Course of Western Civilization” by Jonathan Kirsch and of course I bought it since it’s about Revelation. It wasn’t long before it got interesting: “The author (of Revelation)…sees a scroll on which is written God’s secret plan for the end of the world,” and then “the celestial figure who reveals the divine plan for the end of the world is variously called “one like unto the Son of Man,” the Son of God,” “the Spirit,” and “the Lamb.” Maybe the figure of Jesus moves up in the line in the credits because He has The Plan.

Kindly do I have to disagree, and hope that the episodes all come out at once. I love easter eggs and picking things over too, but the title sequence I found largely inaccessible: the art style is so murky, jagged and jagged, and has things hidden simply Too Small, not to mention moves SO fast and trying to pause things accurately on Amazon is frankly a nightmare.
I'm young (enough), I have damn good eyesight too. These title sequences were just too f*in' hard to see!!! Which sucks cos so much work obviously went into them.

With all these Crowley and Jesus parallels, it would be fun if they were hinting towards them being friends or some other sort of connection. Hi! I love your videos and I wanted to ask your opinion on something. When We see Crowley before the fall in season 2, his eyes are actually normal or just Tennent's eyes, after the fall tho we see his yellow snakes (which actually seem particularly strong on Eden but mellow out as the years go by). Any thoughts on the snake eyes and how they came about?
In Discworld,, shapeshifters cannot change their eyes. Some angles have different eyes, as do some demons (Ligur and Gabriel, for example). Why? To make them stand out from the rest, I suspect. But Neil also said that Crowley's eyes being ALL yellow in the garden, and then only his iris being yellow later is on purpose. So, there is a reason, but he's not telling.

Sendarya, wow, I found this in a document of mine somehow. I wanted to respond to something but don't remember what. So, my comment:
Why did Gabriel come to Aziraphale? I think it was because of Beelzebub, @Sendarya, it has to be. During their meetings they both planned this all out should something happen to him and/or her. Like a mind wipe. Maybe the fly didn't just store things, it had to be programmed with many contingency plans. I think Gabriel & Beelzebub programmed the fly with "wake prompts" (like Alexa) that would help whoever he/she was with to help him/her till they found each other. While Gabriel expected and programmed for Aziraphale. I don't believe he would have been expecting Crowley. So maybe there's a hidden message there? Or, please, explain why this is not possible. I am still new to this type of discussion.

He would put things straight again, the Love Revolution could begin and the two ineffable ones would fly away together at last. But, again, I know it's silly.
