@@OrchidHunter I popped back down to Bedford Purlieus today, but still no sign of fly orchids! Did see a fledgling common spotted in the same area, but that was it.
hello I am no expert and need a bit of help with an orchid in my field. I get quite a few common spotted but nothing else. then I found a taller orchid today. much whiter flowers and very light green stem with no spots on the leaves. is this a common spotted that is just a bit mutant?? flower shape etc is. thank you so much for any insight.
Just a quick comment. Hate to be a pedant but thought you might like to know that purlieus is pronounced purlew as in curlew rather than pur-li-us. 🙂 Great videos, keep up the good work.
Beautiful orchids in their natural habitat! Thanks for taking us along.
Just subbed, lovely walks👍
Lots of purpurella out now nearby to me here in Ireland.
once again ..a lovely video...enjoyed watching..
sub species pulchella ...great find !
If only ...... definitely not pulchella. These are the purple form of incarnata.
Good to see a 'new' site in the local area. Do you think Splash Lane has the potential for any other types of orchid?
I will certainly take a look once we are into mid June !

Yes ...... absolutely no idea what is happening there and can offer no explanation !

That's a tough one to answer without seeing it Sarah. Sounds like it may be a Southern Marsh Orchid if it has size and no spots on the leaves.
