My Dad christened her car Stuka due to the high pitch scream the tortured Morris made - the result of never having experienced a gear higher than second its entire life. Our nurse deemed third excessive and fourth ridiculous.

What a breath of fresh air. How beautiful our country used to be, the people pleasant and accommodating, and the lack of vehicles on the roads. It must have been heavenly to live back then. I know they had hardships the likes of which we can only imagine but it bred better characters, not like the spoiled, self-obsessed monsters we have today. Manners was the thing of the day, everyone talking to each other as though they'd known them for years without prejudice and not a black face amongst them. I would love to have lived in that era of my country instead of this waking nightmare I am living through today.
