Notre dame fans are way too cocky about this game. There are couple things to be worried about if your Notre dame and I actually think this will be a very hard matchup for ND to overcome and IF they do I believe they will win the natty. Penn state has a very good run game which could exploit the ND defense. ND defense strength is their back filed NOT the line although I think they can generate a good pass rush. Also I’m not sure Love will get many carries because he not completely healthy. Leonard is going to have to throw the ball much better to have a chance in this game and open up holes for him and price. On the flip side Notre dame is going to have to find a way to stop PSU run game. Coming off that physical game against Georgia and having 1 day less to prepare is also a disadvantage. I actually think this is a harder matchup for Notre dame then Ohio state in the natty when LOVE is full Go. Will Howard did not look good against Michigan because of pass rush and Notre dame will cause that imo plus they have better secondary then Michigan. PSU is going to give Dame everything that can handle and I’m hoping Notre dame just survives. Nd wins and survives and wins by a field goal.
The man on the right is mistaken. Penn State national champions in ‘82 and in ‘86. Penn State also lost a heartbreaker to Alabama for national championship.
Penn state has an offense with that tight end and running backs.. ND cant pass. And penn states strength of their team is run defense. I think notre dame will get shut down. 31-17 penn state

Well PFF stats are fun for nerds, so they can say this or that rate. However it is obvious you guys have not watched ND all year, just the last two weeks. So tell me what's ND's f' you up rate this year? That will tell you what will happen.
@ yes but FSU didn’t play ND in the natty that year. 1 vs 2 played in those games genius. It would’ve been the same way if it was BCS. They were the consensus 1 vs 2 teams. I do agree FSU screwed ND. It didn’t help they lost to BC the following week so look at strength of loss but we all know like Tom Osborne a few years later screwing PSU; that they wanted to give those coaches their first natty.
These is the Committee mistake, because for the next round whoever play OHIO STATE IS GRTTING CRUSHED NOT EVEN FINNY, the game done before first half. You can not even coking it up, in what way they are DOA!!!!
Dalton saying that Love and Price are more of a "home run threat" than Allen and Singleton??? Has he watched Allen and Singleton play? Singleton is a threat to go all the way every time he touches the ball, and Allen (who's more of the "banger") knows how to take it to the house as well. At best, that's a "push" in my mind. Saying that ND's backfield represents more of a "home run threat" is some of that "homerism" rearing it's head me thinks . . .
Something people seem to keep forgetting, it's not just a matchup against the players, it's coaching too. Comparing Freeman and Franklin, give me Freeman all day. His confidence has grown rapidly this year and Notre Dame is on a mission after beating Georgia without Rylie Mills and Benjamin Morrison and an unhealthy Jeremiah Love. Penn State has a slight edge in raw talent when it comes to QB and Receivers and LBs and their phenomenal TE Warren, but Franklin has lost every big game I've seen him play. Boise State and SMU is not the same quality of wins ND had against GA and Indiana. Franklin has made so many mistakes in big games and made many questionable decisions. Notre Dame has the better coach and are playing better as a team due to everyone understanding their role. Give me the Irish: 24-14
As a PSU fan I’m so scared of a Franklin choke. The play calling even against BSU was atrocious. We’re averaging 8 yards a carry, and you call deep shot after deep shot to our lackluster WR core? Hopefully Abdul Carter is at full strength. I think he’s the best chance we have
@@goofygoober7617 100% man. Watched the whole BSU game and there were two scenarios when I was asking myself what the hell is Franklin doing? You're totally right, BSU couldn't stop the run to save their life. I would've handed it off every single time. I've seen him blow so many games. Abdul Carter is huge. If you have him back that will help reduce the run threat of Notre Dame.
@@ct8377 That's the one area where ND clearly has a distinct advantage. Let's hope Franklin (or his coordinators) don't have a brainfart moment. In all honesty, except for the goal line stand against OSU, Franklin's coaching has been pretty good this year. The fake punt against Minny, with the season being on the line comes to mind. That wasn't a call for faint hearted folks and he coached that game exceptionally.
ND has the best run game in the cfp. Highest scoring offense in the cfp. The best dual threat QB in the cfp. #1 turnover defense. #1 scoring defense. Coach of the year. ST coordinator of the year. Best OC/DC duo. Longest winning streak in cfb. They play the game they NEED to play based on opponent. They dont care about stats and records and passing standings. They analyze you in real-time and beat you how they have to. If it gets to a shootout, ND wins. If it's a defensive battle, ND wins. If it comes down to who dominates the run game, ND wins. This aint SMU or Boise State ya filthy bunch ot Sandusky's
I’ll take the singleton Kaytron combo over Notre dames run game, main reason why ND has better rushing stats is cause y’all can’t pass the ball for shit, pretty one dimensional offense, our defense can handle that. Now your defense is elite, but our offense is significantly better than Georgia’s lol, I’ll admit our WRs are pretty weak (as are ND) but we got the line, rushing attack, the QB, and a generational tight end. Sure our path has been favorable, but don’t get carried away because you beat an extremely flawed and injured Georgia team. It’s gonna be a close and great game

@ Well the story is that ND has a crazy advantage in their secondary, when they got torched by a USC with not much talent out wide. Penn state gave up some yards but not as much as ND.
Pretty sure PSU secondary got cooked by USC, & PSU also got bailed out by 6 mistakes in a row by Lincoln Riley & USC. Otherwise, you'd have another loss.

This will be the best game of the year. Both teams will find success in the run game, Penn state’s (lack of) tackling with help Norte dame and Kotelnicki’s creativity will keep Penn State moving. Allar will make plays with his legs. It will come down to a big referee call or lack of late in the 4th. 31-30 PSU
People would be blown away to know ND is the highest scoring team left in the playoffs. That's actually a fact. ND can score when they need to. Freeman is the best at the feel of the game. ND wins by 10. Good game. ND will pull away in the 4th.
This is easy. NDs defense is as good or even better than OSU. Penn State won't score more than 17. Probably closer to 23 to 10 like the UGA game. Or Indiana 27 to 17.
NDs defense, especially passing is a lot better than PSUs. I will welcome Allar to throw in tight windows. Probably means INTs, ND is top 10 in this as well.
@@kych2008 Your defense is good but nothing special. UGA has a better defense. ND Will score > 20 just like the other playoff games, and you'll be wondering why PSU will only have 10 or 13 late in the 4th just like UGA, IU, or how you performed against OSU.
@ Penn state defense is in the top 7 go find out where Georgia defense is and you struggle to put up 7 points on offense and that’s only because you were at the five yard line lol you better hope cater is not healthy you might not score at all
The reason Notre Dame doesn’t see a lot of 12 personnel is because it’s a death sentence against Notre Dame’s defense. Notre Dame plays the most man coverage in the nation which leaves freedom for the linebackers and safeties to get downhill against the run game. The less receivers you have in the formation, the less defenders you can draw out of the box. If you have 2 receivers in the formation, you’ll see 9 defenders committed to the run game if the tight ends stay in to block. This is not a good matchup for Penn State because the one way you beat this Notre Dame defense is by having receivers on the perimeter that can win against man coverage, and Penn State doesn’t have that. Penn State might score even less than Georgia did.
ND hasn't faced a real passing team all season. Nagy, Army, Stanford, FSU, UVA? USC put up 500+ yards on the ND defense. ND also hasn't played a team with a legit OL/DL. With RB1 hurting, no way Riley Leonard alone beats PSU.
Bad take, especially with Louisville's passing game. They have a 1st rounder at WR & a proven passing transfer QB. USC also put up the same on PSU, & should've beat them if not for constant mistakes from Lincoln Rileys horrid coaching. ND literally just played a team filled with NFL talent on DL. And isn't IU the #1 passing offense in the country with Rourke? You don't know ball, are giving a biased take, & are cooked on all that you just said.

@@huntermorse8049why wouldn’t they hope for Georgia? Notre Dame is a better team than Georgia. Nobody is scared of Georgia this season. Georgia literally just got bullied in the trenches by Notre Dame - Penn State is an elite team up front on both sides of the ball. Penn State arguably wins by more than ND against Georgia.
😂😂@Labhran thats funny and not happening. Psu has beat nobody and struggled all year against nobody's. Elite up front ? 😂😂 more comedy, they have 1 elite player on D and he's hurt amd questionable

PSU missing that many tackles isn't a good trait to have against all three runners (Love, Price, Leonard) which are all shifty runners. Go Irish
Not this ND fan. It might have been decisive if ND were at full strength health-wise, but I still think ND wins in a slug fest.
ND is going to smack them. Also if ND makes it I think he is the first Asian American head coach in the national title game.

Saying that ND's backfield represents more of a "home run threat" is some of that "homerism" rearing it's head me thinks . . .
As a die hard Nittany Lions 🦁 fan, it's not a push even, our elite running back duo, is only rivaled by the Buckeyes!!!!! WE ARE
Something people seem to keep forgetting, it's not just a matchup against the players, it's coaching too.

Best OC/DC duo. Longest winning streak in cfb. They play the game they NEED to play based on opponent. They dont care about stats and records and passing standings. Layoff the crack. Nobody can runs with Omari Evans
Ya’ll are funny. This isn’t going to be close. Irish are going to win this by 3+ touchdowns
Ha ha ha. Just like Northern Illinois, you don’t know what you’re talking about. Loser.

Georgia doesn’t have an OL or DL ? 😂 If Love is limited, Price and Williams can go, along with Riley.
Bad take, especially with Louisville's passing game. They have a 1st rounder at WR & a proven passing transfer QB. USC also put up the same on PSU, & should've beat them if not for constant mistakes from Lincoln Rileys horrid coaching.
