Absolute legend of a builder. I’ve never NEVER come across a bad prs guitar. Every single prs instrument is a quality instrument that you could use forever. Plus they look killer
you can tell Paul Reed Smith just loves the shit out of building good guitars. He has a good ear too as you can tell when he is demonstrating the single diaphragm design.
The more I watch Paul, the more I respect him and what he does. When I think about buying a new guitar, I want to buy from him, because the way he speaks; the clarity, the realness, the passion, it makes me trust him as a musician and someone who really cares. Like, he's obsessed with tone, dynamics, design, and it shows. It's beautiful actually. He's like the Stradivarius of guitars.
Great review. Thanks! After several months of research I pulled the trigger on one of these today over a Martin I loved at 2x the price point. I am now officially feeling like a little kid at Christmas! Come on, Santa!
Sold : I’m a beginner who bought a cheap used yam and I’m getting frustrated because I can’t fix the sound so I just ordered the one of these 🙌🏼 I’m pretty stoked
What is the fretboard radius, the scale length, the nut width, the neck profile? These are some things you need to know when considering any new guitar .
I have music bio's on the internet here and there explaining how the late great Randy California told me Hendrix would play in "C." So when PRS mentions tuning down the low E to a B, I see how it's possible for a guitar player to do so. California either meant Hendrix tuned to an open C, or tuned all strings down two whole steps?
The Angelus sounds fuller. The Tonare has a touch of that boxiness that you get with smaller bodied instruments. The Angelus has more of the airy fulllness of a dread ... per my ears on Apple earbuds, that is.
That guy who demos both guitars around 2:30 said "It's got the warmth of so many other guitars, but the response of, how you would dream a guitar would be." lol
Weird question but where can I buy a chair like the ones they are sitting on? Seems perfect for guitar playing. Height, back support, no arms… I need that.
+Mark Hedetniemi Are you joking? You are gonna go out that far, using any credibility you may have, and make a "blanket comment' based on a YT video (MP3) FILE and endorse a guitar that is questionable? Keep your head together brother, take some time, evaluate the PRS acoustic guitars under a number of playing conditions, including different temperatures, varying humidity conditions, and matched up with a variety of amplifiers, and return with a stellar YT video report in say 6 months disclosing your findings, OK? Shooting from the hip is sorrowfully lacking everything but a quick gut feeling, and we actually can't rely on that now can we?
+Rushy d Try $10,000.00 based on Sweetwater's rounded price on the Alex Lifeson signature model....Quite frankly, Paul's guitar's are typically awesome, especially the PRS SE models... I own a PRS SE Zach Myers semi-hollow body electric that nearly plays itself...an amazing guitar by any standard...In addition, I own a PRS SE 245 with soap-bar pickups (single coil) that are so cool, people buckle in their knees when you hear that baby wail......Acoustic guitars are different animals, honestly, Martin & Taylor Guitars normally sound best in the acoustic range...I have never like Gibson anything, so it goes....The only time I use an acoustic guitar is for songwriting, I prefer electric guitars, and I guess it all relates back to my first guitar, a 1958 Fender Telecaster (tan) with a Fender (Champ) amplifier @ 10W....
Dude... he just said it was the best guitar he’s heard. No need to tear the comment apart. Over react much? Everyone has an opinion. It very well might’ve been the best guitar he’s heard.
Hi G'day, I just I wanted to ask if you guys have a lefthand version of SE Alex Lifeson Signature Acoustic guitar or any other lefty guitar? Thank you in advance
Todavía creo que es un mástil endeble Qye aunque ka acción es baja en verano el mástil se arquea b Todavía sigo luchando con mi Prs p20 rosa 🌹 y menos mal que es gracias a dios 😅 Qye es solo limited edition la 🌹
Mr. Paul, you need to BRING BACK this model. It is kind a disappointing that THIS IS THE BEST SE ANGELUS ever, and you discontinued making this wonderful guitar. Don't give us the PRS SE Angelus "Ae" series. To be honest with you I love your guitars, but I don't like the new once because most of the SEs now are made in China. Korean made is better why you switch to china made? And also please make some new colors of the PRS SE Santana. I love the PRS Santana but I am tired of the yellow colors. Please make sapphire, blue, red or any other color of SE Santana. I hope you consider this request from a fan of yours. THANK YOU!
That Angelus thing does sound like an angel! 🤩 Btw, trying to decide whether to get an Angelus A40E or an A50E. Looking for comparison review of these two, and couldn't find any. Any insights would be highly appreciated. Many thanks in advance 🙏
I'm 53 years old & have been playing since I was a little kid. Been performing on stage since 1984. Went back to my roots of mostly playing acoustic in the early 90's. I've owned some of the very best acoustics, and I can already tell from only this video that these guitars are phenomenal. Two people thumbing this video down for ANY reason are simply 2 IDIOTS. JEALOUS IDIOTS. Paul carries on about his guitars like he SHOULD. The man is more absorbed into what he's doing than anyone else I've seen in the industry. But the REAL PUNCH LINE for this video, was when he tuned that big E string down ridiculously low. AND THE GUITAR STILL SANG JUST FINE!!! THAT simply blew me away. I have NEVER seen any other acoustic do that so well. NEVER. Do any of you other viewers realize what that represents? You go try THAT with the acoustic you have. The truth is THE TRUTH. Damn, I want one so bad I can just taste it. And the electronics explanation has me very intrigued too. I wish they would have played it plugged in. So I'm not so sold on the electronics yet, but knowing Paul, that may be head & shoulders above the rest too. But until then, I personally prefer the electronics by Takamine. WAY BETTER than Fishman, and I don't give a damn what anybody says. Ya want your acoustic TO SOUND LIKE it's still unplugged, only louder. The Fishman's sound too bell-like & low endy clean. An acoustic guitar has a natural warm sweet distortion, and the Fishman systems just kill it. They sound clinically DEAD. Not terrible, but not what they should sound like.
Even with the Fishman's, these guitars sound phenomenal plugged in. Bought an A30E used last month. I've been playing for 26 years, and this is the best guitar I've ever owned.
You can't shut a guitar off by touching the board, the strings are still resonating, every acoustic guitar will do that. And besides hardwood top guitars, almost every acoustic guitar has a lighter wood on top. These PRS acoustics might be good, but enough of that stupid marcketing lol.
He's not just touching the board, he's also squeezing the back of the body against his side. Do that to most other acoustics (like if you were sitting & playing without a strap and holding the guitar against your body while playing) and it'll muffle the sound and stop the resonance because of exactly what he mentions, they use the back and sides to help reproduce the sound.

Paul is without any doubt a genius.
Shut up and go home, Paul.
...and asshole

Interesting that the maple sides and back, although laminated, sound so good - and are clearly the best sounding guitars of this series.
The guitars in the video are the high end versions, not Angelus and Tonare SE! $5000 and up!
Sold : I’m a beginner who bought a cheap used yam and I’m getting frustrated because I can’t fix the sound so I just ordered the one of these 🙌🏼 I’m pretty stoked
perhaps you should have gone to a store and played a few.

Mr. Smith, you sir, are a genius. I love your guitars!
Thank you
beautiful sound
GREETINGS from Brazil

That cutaway acoustic is my dream guitar... jeez that thing is gorgeous.
and cheap
I really want THAT Tonare.
what's the exact model of that tonare? looks so damn fine and sounds so damn fine too

This guitar has a perfect tone
Excelentes guitarras , vivaces , vibrantes y llenas de tono . Felicitaciones Paul .

Bought an A30E last month. He speaks the truth.

That first one is literally one of THE best guitars I have ever heard. Whoa! #mindblown
true...though I prefer Rosewood side/back.
Yes same here but they must be costing a fortune.

:45 Paul, press down on the strings with your palm
yep gotta say , he really builds a better mouse trap. im not crazy about his elecric guitars, but the acoustics have so much bang for a buck
The cut away sounds way different
ese truco de ventilar el acorde final lo hago hasta con mi yamaha apx 7 modelo 90´s
PAUL please refund me 10.ooo argentinian pesos for my a50e

Why does Jack Black look so grumpy?
I do trust these guitars... taylor, martin are good, I actually love Martin but talking about a guitar forever in perfect shape? ... PRS
8 seconds decay is normal, Mr Reed Smith. As you damn well know.
Stop with that stupid crushing the guitar with your arm thing, it's embarrassing.
Lol
It's Paul Reed Smith dude he can do what ever the fuck he wants,
paul is a goof ball.
The arm trick is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. " It won't shut down!".
