Well, if you want to be a creator, to make a character, a anime or even a game. Even without PC, I recommend you watch and study as much as possible. When the day you are able to get one, you will make 3D models much faster. From personal experience, I was on a University studding Game Development, and met people with and without PCs. Most of the people with a good PC, didn't study at all, they gave up on trying. While the people without PC used to watch more videos and learn stuff, even not being able to put this on practice.
This is SO helpful, I’ve been messing around with textures trying to make a pair of fluffy bug antennae and I completely overlooked the offset editing option.
Lady, you are awesome. Been trying to work this part out for something I was working on, just saved me a solid week of banging my head against the wall to learn it.
I spent *all* of today looking for a simple hair guide for this program. I only found out about the program through you yesterday, so have been stuck all day and this video is timed perfectly, thank you!
As someone genuinely interested in Vtubing, I gotta say Phia, you're tutorials are a total godsend. You're making awesome content, that is DEFINITELY helping out! Thank you!
I love how in depth this and all of your vr tutorials are! These really helped me out and I've actually started making my own vrchat skins! Thank you and keep up the great work and even if this video is months old, its still really helpful. I Appreciate it
I NEEDED THIS! I dunno why but everytime I make my hair and it looks good when I make a bone group it just floats away and defies gravity so thank God for this
I've found the procedural group is good for quickly filling in the back of the head as you can set one at 90, adjust it to his you want it then copy it and put the copy at 180. Put together a model this morning using only procedural hair and it worked out pretty well. Super long with a big puffy skirt for it to lay on top of. Probably going to change it as I make adjustments to the skirt, but for the moment it's very interesting. Long way of saying the procedural do have uses, specially for those of us not very artistically inclined.
So, at first I was like, wow this is hard it looks awful, but after you gave me the incredible idea of *gasp* using different levels of width I realized that I may be able to do this, thank you, I was almost afraid that I wouldn't be able to start until I shelled of a few hundred for a decent rig.
Finally, I've seen so many tutorial but this one is the most in depht i've seen. Also thanks for sharing the male hair model as I feel it's lacking on youtube.
I'm just starting creating my model from scratch in Vroid, and I just learnt there are hair bones, you are on a completely different level, wow. I wish I'm as half as good as you one day, you are awesome. Just subscribed.
I just downloaded vroid and I heard hair was the hardest so decided to start with it first - your tutorial was tremendously useful. thanks for making it!
I made my own model that I made messing around but seeing this video is giving me so many fun ideas to play with get some nice hair instead it just being straight from the factory
Thaaaaank you SO MUCH for doing this. You, ANGEL. I cannot express the frustration I've had, and the amount of gratitude for this help. Have the most blessed day, Phia!
Thankyou for the tutorials, I am working on being a 3D model maker and this is my first job for my friend who wants to be a vtuber. This is very helpful.
This helped so much, I was really struggling with doing the back of the hair I was doing all the layers starting at the top because I guess I forgot hair grows... all over the head? LOL
I tried downloading VRoid and started making an avatar, however, half of it was in english and half was in, I think, japanese. I had to cut my losses through insane confusion.
Thank you so much, I recently learned of and started using a standard Vroid model along with a few of my friends. I've been playing with the editing so I can hopefully make us all specialized ones and I learned so much from this!
This will probably get lost in the comments, but I genuinely want to say that I enjoy your content. Everything from your voice to the way you do vtubering in general; you're awesome.
13:18 with the character’s hair styled as it currently is she kinda looks like Fuuka from Persona 3!! (Which I think it would be interesting to try and recreate her in this program or any of the persona characters really)
this is a very good guide! thank you for being thorough and going at a good pace. so many of these tutorials are like a race or something, then you have to watch it 500 times trying to pause and figure out what is going on and such lol. blender tutorials especially lol.
Thank you for this tutorial. You have now just made yourself a mighty competitor! In..umm... sometime in the far future! Maybe. I don't know. Being a full-time family man is hard enough to try to estimate any time. ;_;
Thank you soooo much for this tutorial. I have been struggling to make the hair and you helped a lot. Whenever I would make a character the hair was never done because I didn't know how to do it but now I will be able to make it.
I just downloaded Vroid to create an avatar, but the format is almost completely different from yours. I know you uploaded this almost a year ago, but navigating everything on this updated app is making it really hard for me to follow your tutorial. :l You're doing a fantastic job explaining this program though! Keep up the good work!!
These videos are incredibly helpful and easy to follow. You have taught me everything I needed to know for getting started adding a VTube avatar to my stream for when I can't/don't want to use my mask. ^_^ Thank you SO much!
Phia, thank you so so so so much for this tutorial, and even going as far to go into your previous commissions. It's greatly appreciated.💖 Hair is perhaps the biggest struggle with VRoid, I'm stll such an amateur. 💦 One of my system mates wants a model made for himself for when we start doing streams regularly. I'm working on one for myself (I'm tweaking it bit by bit as I learn more!) and I'm starting to sketch out ideas for it, so I get a better idea of what I want to make. ^^ I'm also going to be making a model for my partner for when they start their gaming streams.💕
honestly i picked up how to use vroid pretty quickly, I got a good enough handle of the hair customization people would be really impressed its only my first model. oh i was using my own hair as a reference btw
This is such an amazing video thank you so much for sharing! I was having major troubles understanding how to make good looking hair, but now I've finally gotten something started thanks to your help. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this~
Oh my gosh I love you so much Phia and your the one who helped me get started out on my channel so I just wanted to thank you! Hope you have a good Christmas 🎄
Saved up 2,400 for a pc. THANK you so much for the informative channel and tutorials, going to use everything I learned to hopefully make a decent channel. Based channel and content as always, Thank you!
I’m really interested in the types of 3D characters that Vroid can create but I have questions on how to make better use of these characters. There are 3 things that I still wish to learn about Vroid, and I’m hoping to find a video that covers all 3. 1) I want to learn how to pose the character’s face in order to create different facial expressions (still images, not animation). 2) I’d like to learn how to pose the hair for dynamic poses. For example, if a character is moving, running, jumping, or it’s a windy day, their hair will reflect that. I want to create a still pose though (not an animation) because I’d like to be able to draw what I create. 3) I also wish to learn how to pose the clothing in dynamic ways. If the character is moving, doing some kind of action pose, or it’s windy weather, their clothing will move as well. Think of how clothing such as a scarf, cape, coat, or a dress will be affected under these different situations. Just like with the hair, I’d like to create a still pose of clothing in dynamic positions, in order to represent movement. This would be really helpful for people who want to draw their characters or want to pose them for comics 😊
so far you dont really need a wacom tablet if your poor, it even supports mouse because i tried it(i still can make hair with no problems, i just need to position just right or recorrect the hair just to undo my mistake, or what i say whenever its a failed attempt: PRESS CTRL Z-)
Sweet tutorial, definitely will help me up my hair game :) small question though, (unless stuff like that would be another tutorial) how do you keep the wings and tails and stuff in place? Because whenever I create those (even with the mesh partially inside the model), they always hover a bit away from the model once I go into animations.
You can detach the wings/tails in Unity! (I'll be posting a video on that later down the line) But sadly there is no way to detach the hair directly in VRoid, sadly :(
Could you do a tutorial regarding the "Dynamic Bones" program in Unity? Where you demonstrate how to add the bones in the hair you had in VRoid to Unity? In the hierarchy, the "Hairs" component combine all strands of hair in "Hair1"... so could you make something that makes all of the strands of hairs be dynamic?
gonna be honest, I don't know what's happening. but I'm just happy to be here
Brother is that you...?
It’s called introspective world 🗺 cheers 🥂
Watching this even tho I don't plan on making a model for myself.
To be honest, *Me neither*
Can you make a video about male hair please?
WOOOOOOOH YEAH BABY THAT'S WHAT WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THAT'S WHAT THIS IS ALL ABOUT
ah i wish she went over how to do hair buns but I found this really helpful
seeing how she made the ears, it might be the same way. hope she'll cover that sort of thing soon
I think a good hair bun would be using the Ika and making it short and wide
My respect for VRoid users increase every time I see how the hairs are done
as a bald man. I will never use this. but it's still very informative lmfao
why not make beard with this ? 🧔 ... and ... well ... um I wonder if that works in other places too ? 🤔
make a wig, lol
@@nara4420 it does
@@nara4420 you can do tails and ears!
@@panecillo_kun i dont think thats what he meant i think he meant pubic hair LOL
Just got into VR because of Phia, it has been such an experience. Thank you for making the content that you do.
you are coming to me just in time where i started to want to become a Vtuber and your tutorials helping a lot
Same
same
Me: don't even have a PC so I cant do a model
Also me: let me insta click in this video, like it and watch it entirely
i made one on a mac it's way harder but totally doable O.o
This tutorial is made really well! I'm really excited about trying it out

I think they released a mobile app but it said it wasn’t available in my Country when I tried downloading it so I’m not exactly sure

I'm trying to learn how to do the back hair, like the one in the video they show when downloading it.
I like to do the whole hair, and then do curves and stuff and any protruding hair I do a bunch of different freehand groups
انا عربي و شرف لي اشاهد المبدعين im Arabic and keep up the good work
Great tutorial! I appreciate the more in-depth style of video
Apparently great minds think alike. Very comprehensive guide, Phia!
Thank you so much! Now I have ideas. 😀
tysm! i really needed this cause i really want to try being a vtuber!
im just watching cause I like to know how you would and how you make models
Not really to make some myself xD
but hey I'm here anyway!
Thank you for the tips!
The drag tool would be. Great for curly hair, I think
I haven't a clue on whats going on here but ill act like i do
my hands shakes so much so like i literally strain my hand just to make a "clean" strand
I love this so very very much, thank you.
eeeep! I'm trying it out now~ what a learning curve!
not sure how I've manager to turn her around lmao
